Yes, you can play everything still on 2K14 even online quick match. Which is rather enjoyable in my opinion. I'd suggest picking up to refresh you mind on what 2K started with for next-gen!

      Anyone still playing?
I play 2k14 more than 2k15. This year's game was a complete joke to me. 2k gameplay hasn't felt different in many years and needs some sort of overhaul in my opinion.

Re: Does Anyone Else Prefer 2K14 to 2K15?

2k14 next gen gameplay was very solid I thought. The footplanting and blocking were very good. The only major issues I had gameplay wise was on-ball defense change of direction was way too slow to start-up and inside the paint there were too many bailout fouls. Also too many offensive rebounds and not proper boxing out or jumping by the CPU which was an on-going problem dating back to 2k12. Otherwise I thought the game was pretty good.

2k15 is the first 2k game I have barely played at all this year since I enjoy to play online a lot. Offline its not a bad game with some tweaks to the sliders/game speed. But online its just atrocious this year.

The player movement and animations just feel completely off to me and was a major turn off to me right off the bat. As the ball handler for instance around the paint you are forced into that silly animation where your guy hunches over and artificially slows you down when your trying to get to the basket. Some of the contact animations around the basket are just so silly too. Like getting constantly pushed in the back or getting mugged and thrown to the ground with no foul.

On defense it feels very herky jerky in the way your player tries to move around the court (without tweaking things which is only good for offline) and there is far too much sliding again and unresponsiveness. Just simply bumping into a ball handler from the side or back and your forced into that dumb animation that pushes you back and stops you dead in your tracks (its been in the game since at least 2k13) further handicapping you on defense. Those unbreakable celebration animations after a basket where your player uncontrollable starts jumping around wildly and that takes you away from playing defense is so annoying as well.

With the addition of the new shot meter this year and the ease at which ball handlers can easily evade on-ball defenders this year online due to the terrible defensive player movements and animations has completely destroyed any enjoyment I used to have in playing this game online. Its so easy for people to hit turn around fade away shots or heavily contested shots even when playing great on-ball defense. "Good shot defense" is more like an april fools joke now. With the sig skills/badges, shot meter, and the horrible defense its just far to one sided. There is just absolutely no balance whatsoever to the game anymore online.

So yes for me I actually preferred 2k14 a lot more over 2k15.

Think this year the game is becoming more user friendly and pick up and play can't blame them that's where the money is.

Yep, I agree. It started back in 2k13 and the game has just continued to get easier for the casual gamer. I recall one of the developers stating years ago that that was even their goal to make the game more pickup-n-play. They sure didn't disappoint on that goal this year lol. I guess if they want to make more VC sales to rake in even more money thats what they need to do.

Hell no, 2k14 was piss poor imo. Felt like a beta or something. 2k15 still has some of the exact same flaws the franchise has had for years(horrible passing for example) but it absolutely destroys 2k15 in just about every aspect.

2k14 i remember getting weird stats, like averaging about a block per game with ray allen, ridiculous.

Tried to upload on a roster on Xbox One and it didn't save. So apparently roster uploads don't work even if they appear to.

When people make statements that a "game is a complete joke" without reasons to back it, it doesn't help users reading the post. I legitimately want to hear what's wrong with NBA2k15. If 2k's gameplay hasn't felt different in years, wouldn't 2k14 also be classified as a "complete joke" as well?

I didn't pick up NBA2k15 because it didn't have a halftime show (stupid reason for most, but not for me). NBA2k16 better have a halftime show or I might just skip it altogether. I stuck with NBA2k14 PS4.

Can I play devil's advocate? We're you using ray allen to block shots at any point?

2k is providing the gamer tools to block shots. If the gamer times the block, s/he will have success blocking shots. What would the solution be to avoid crazy block statistics from players that don't normally block shots in real life? What solutions would you propose to 2k regarding "blocked shots."

2k14 wasn't bad but compared to 2k15's gameplay 2k14 feels ancient. RMB 2k14 on next gen had NO DEFENSIVE SETTINGS ... I also averaged 9 blks a game with Thomas Robinson in 2k14 ....

I'll take 2K15 over 14 any day of the week. The only thing 14 had that was better like most of you said was the lighting.

All my boys think 14 is better than 15 tho, complaining about the sliding and the shot meter, but then again, they suck at the game...

Didn't pick up 2K last year but I prefer '13 to '15 if that means anything. Controls & movement felt a lot tighter and responsive.

Yes i was, but the difference is in 2k15 when i use a non shot blocker, i don't average a lot of blocks, all of my blocks are coming from guys that are know for blocking shots. Whatever they did in 2k15 worked. And the solution is simple, they could just handle it the same way they do bad free throw shooters. A guy at the line who's not as good at shooting freethrows still has a decent chance of missing the shot even if your release is pretty good(except for perfect) same rules should apply for shot blocking. A guy who's not a shot blocker should have less of a chance of blocking a shot unless the timing is perfect.

It doesn't help that in 2k14 some of the animations would also lead to easy blocks either.

2k15 took a step backwards in lighting and player detail, there is more player sliding in 2k15 compared to 14. Also the defense in 2k15 is nonexistent. I can literally go for 40-50pts+ easily with guys like Jamal Crawford, Monte Ellis, Ginobli, & etc. Also guys like LeBron, Westbrook, Harden & etc have unstoppable animations when driving the lane. I can literally hit consistent 15ft jumpers with D. Howard and D. Jordan because I have their jumpshot release mastered. The court spacing is one of the very few things I would prefer in 2k15 over 14. Need I go on or is that enough detail for you????? Bottom line, 2k15 feels like a simple pick up & play game to me and I just don't like that.
