A NEW MODE THAT MAKES SENSE
My player/crew/& all the other modes that allow rival players to be signed willy nilly all over the place to any team has always been ridiculous to me. I hate seeing Bird in any other uniform but a Celtic uniform. These modes destroy the very fabric of what it means to have rivals and creates a weak front runner mentality that oozes of LeBron James. Haaa!
A better Mode would be 2K Legacy Mode. A user vs. user/cpu or online play mode that allows competitors to choose 12 of the greatest players to ever play for a franchise. Users are presented with 15 players of which to choose from after team selection. All 15 will have played for that team selected. Each user is given no more than 2 & 1/2 minutes to choose their 12 man roster. All players are rated according to their entire career production with said team, NOT one specific season.
Quick example: Spurs vs Bulls
Spurs PG options=Parker, Avery Johnson, Rod strickland
SG options=Gervin, Ginobili, Robertson
SF options= Elliot, Leonard, Mitchell
PF options= Rodman, Terry Cummings, young Duncan rated(99) or old Duncan(89)
C Options=Robinson, Gilmore, Paultz
Bulls PG=Rose, B.J. Armstrong, Brooks
SG=Jordan(96) w/hair or bald Jordan(99), Theus, Butler
SF=Pippen, Deng, Kukoc
PF=Grant, Rodman, Gasol
C = Gilmore, Noah, Longley
The franchise players for each team (Duncan/Robinson/Gervin & Jordan/Pippen/Rose) would always be available any time these teams are selected but the remaining options could be different each time. Example: For the Bulls Armstrong & Brooks could be Paxson & Kerr or Hinrich & Von Lier. Great players from different eras on actual teams played for. MJ would only be eligible for Bulls and/or Wizards where he would be rated an 87.
