Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout

I just skimmed over some of the other posts and I agree with everything I have read, my hopes are is when I am controlling a certain guy ex. Kyrie, I want to feel the difference of controlling him then say a Jose Calderon which I don't feel in 2k15. I want the Speed/Explosiveness and skill sets differential to be noticeable when using the top tier players in this game. This is a 3 point era we are seeing now in the NBA and what does shooting a lot of 3's lead to? Long rebounds which lead to fast breaks, 2k15 has zero long rebounds in this game has I have said in numerous other posts on here so I will leave it at that. The celebrations after EVERY made shot, it could be 11:45 in the 1st scored tied 0-0 and you make a layup and the players just acted like they scored the go ahead bucket in the 4th in a tight game, I mean emotions are awesome but they need to be timed to the correct situation of the game.

These right here gets on my nerves

      Being SUCKED into the defense

Being PARALYZED so you can't grab loose balls/steals

Being Force to play with AI teammates who wants the team to score.

Cpu magnetic or vacuum hands. the ball always seems to go in the direction

And can you please get rid of the sabotage fastbreak. guys really take stupid routes when it comes down to that.

      Thanks.

          1) Momentum/footplanting

          2) More non-Adidas accessories in the way of compression tights, sleeves, socks, and headbands from Nike/Jordan etc

          3) HD quality scanned sneakers in a WIDE selection. So far Live's sneakers are still superior

          4) Ability to wear every alternate/throwback uniform in MyCareer

          5) Ability to purchase every alternate/throwback uniform for MyPark

          6) Realistic tattoos

          7) An app that facilitates easier face scanning

          8) More dribble size ups, spins, hesitations, and stepbacks

          9) More taunts and animations to display personality

          10) Ability to adjust top/bottom sizing from very fitted to very baggy

I'd have to say Playbooks man.

A global personal playbook, one I can use in My League Online, My Team, and Exhibition. Word.

With this, there needs to be a lot less bail out fouls in these situations where the defender is just holding his ground...I rather foul #'s be on the lower side than be artificially boosted this way...

It was so frustrating to play good D have your hands up then a foul called...like man we are already at a disadvantage defensively...can we get SOME wins?

                1. Realistic amount of fts. There are way to many fouls that go uncalled. Being pushed while shooting should be called. Being bumped in the air while shooting should be called.

                2. Slow down defenders acceleration and change of direction while rotating. Def recovery speeds and closouts were unrealistic in 15.

                3. Make ratings matter.

4.Seperate the good defenders from the bad.

                  1. First thing i dont wanna see is the, CELEBRATION is too long after a basket, now you suppose to get on D, but naw, he still skipping , waving his hand in the air, meanwhile, The PG, is blowing past setting up the offense, or possible getting to the cup, while he should be PLAYING DEFENSE.

                  2. Better Footplanting, Better DEFENSE, someone noted that the DEFENSE was better in 14, you wasnt able to move, or shed defenders were the offensive player dictating were he wanted to go, didnt happen in 14, in 15, offensive players knocking defenders down in good, firm position, without moving, is nonsense, dont wanna see it.

                  3. Need BETTER spacing, it was good in 15, til a certain degree, it can be much, much better in 16.

                  4. Plays, would some time breaks down, cause of the spacing, or the plays, ran a bit slow, that needs to be pick up, a notch in 16, But the PLAYCALLING SYSTEM, FREELANCE, was on POINT,

Two hopes, probably without much hope:
                    1. When I play at the arena of a classic team from the pre 3-point era, there won't be 3-pointers. Or, an option to turn off 3-pointers.

                    2. A simple playoffs mode, like MLB The Show has. I want to pick which teams are in, then play!

Books , it was good, but sometimes it seem like the floor shrunk, or it got congested, while the play was trying to form, with better CPU better AI movement, with wider floor spacing, would be the fixed, if i make any sense., THANKS BOOKS

Yeah, it's definitely gotten better since previous games, but there are still times when the defense is playing physical and restricting offensive player movement, and it gets all bumper cars in and around the key. That makes some plays break or go too slow to fit in 24 seconds, and it clogs up and delays free lance too.

Seen it in 3-2, swing, most definitely triangle, pretty much anything but pace and 4-1. You can fix it if you space the floor, but then you don't get much freelance action you don't initiate yourself with manual PnR.

Which reminds me of another hope: more freelance action outside of motion cuts to align with POE's. There's some decent action on play through player, but the others get pretty thin, maybe one or two options, or maybe none. And sometimes calling for a CPU play with the left bumper may give you just one play repeatedly even when you have more plays in your set that fit the freelance system. Need more variety from smart play, it can tend to spam one play.

I wonder if player models and court size are appropriately portioned. I can't honestly tell. That plays a big part into spacing. But my top issues that havent been formally addressed yet would include:

                            1. Passing. The passes are simply too slow and players have poor situational awareness. I've seen times where my player will throw a bounce pass when a chest pass would be way more appropriate. Also quicker animations that get the ball out and catch and set quicker.

                            2. Responsiveness. This is a killer for me. Trying to attempt to slide a defensive player over to help is a struggle. I feel like there is a force holding me back sometimes.

                            3. Screen and Roll/DHO actions and counters. They are the core plays of basically every offense today. The Cpu doesn't run them nearly enough. Plenty of real NBA teams use misdirection to flow into PNR. Getting middle doesn't feel like I open up enough advantages. I don't feel it's represented properly. The bigs can cover too much space and generally players can recover too well. This probably ties into foot planting but I'll let others speak on that topic who have
                            more knowledge.

                            4. ProAm. Besides balanced gameplay I don't run with 5. I hope cpu's are competent and that matches can actually be started with just 2 players. 2 players can beat 5 users if they are disorganized. I did it all the time against hackers on 2K11. Why prevent crews from attempting it?

                            5. Player tendencies. You can nail the ratings but if the tendencies don't match it makes for a poor experience. I'm hoping you can save templates or 2k has good preset tendencies. Ex. Chucker/team player. Slacker/hustler. Etc. Making a roster is a load of work and I undestand 2K can't perfect it but it's hard for us too. Waiting for a roster is easier but they take a couple months.

                            6. Descriptions of sliders/coach sliders/attributes/tendencies, etc. Part of making the best roster is figuring out what everything does and how it counteracts with other sliders. Very time consuming.

That's all I got off the top.

Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout

#1. Shooting forms & Signature moves. Every release I find myself correcting hundreds of player shooting forms and sig moves. Example: Conley shoots floaters with his right hand exclusively. Far too many are way off and I can't believe that 2K continues to use the shot they gave Kendrick Perkins. Totally laughable.

#2. Improved User vs. CPU gameplay. I despise the lag & gimmicky effects of online play so I never play more than 15 or so online matches. The CPU intelligence is where 2K fails miserably every release. Players don't play remotely close to reality. The CPU player catches the ball on the perimeter, pump fakes, & then passes to the next player to repeat the same movement. When is Al Jefferson going to post on the left block 90% of the time to use his righty hook 70% of the time? When is Harden going to fancy-schmancy dribble drive left but 2 dribble pull up right exclusively?

#3. User player selection at tip off. Every year Perkins was in OKC, we saw him face up to jump at tip off as if that somehow were realistic. Ibaka is the leaper and has been for some time. 2K should kill the show off arena pan before the tip & replace it with a simple box pop up similar to the one used when a free throw shooter has to be chosen for a technical foul or an injured player. Again this is way overdue.

#4. Alleyoop play. Sim play should not be subjected to ridiculous alleyoop play. If there is NO EYE TO EYE/FACE TO FACE CONTACT then there can NOT be an existing lob attempt. Sick of the cutting player receiving a lob when the back of his head has faced the passer the entire time. Leave that to park play & all the other modes.

#5. Controls. Floaters & pull up shots are VERY important in the NBA. We the user should maintain control of which shot we need at the appropriate moment instead of being sucked into the ole Steve Nash one-knee up-two hands-release wheely floater.

#6. Post Play. Give us the appropriate speed in the post and quit it with the neanderthal sluggish movement. Give us guaranteed left/right hand shot attempts. Like Madden 16, give us aggressive power moves and appropriate finess moves that apply to the appropriate players. (better description in my OS blog).

                                1. Passing mechanics. Love the readdition of the "touch pass" option. Was missed big time in 2k15. This also means that players catch the ball promptly ready to shoot instead of taking 1 full second as that allows the defense to recover. Also making sure more cross court passes/skip passes are picked off/ fumbled when they are done incorrectly. Angles should matter as well.

Foot planting should matter a little more. Like I would like to see a when a player is trapped and is against the baseline the pass is harder to make.

                                2. Shot releases for players are smoother. Tired of having "hitchy shots" Needs more releases that have one motion and is realistic for example like rudy gay, chris paul, etc.

                                3. Rebounding. Fundamentals such as protecting the ball on the way down. Removal of the "pick" underneath the basket disallowing defenders to box out.

                                4. Shot contest actually effects a players shot (mainly in the multiplayer like rec/proam)

                                5. Crossover fatigue
All players shouldnt be able to dribble side to side for the entire shot clock EVERY possession. Make players lose fatigue the more crossovers they do. This will separate the true elite ball handlers to the average ones. On Ball Defense needs to be a little stronger.

                                6. Dribbling of a defenders leg.
Yes it happens irl but not as often as it does in 2k. Instead just make the ball handler pick up its dribble.

                                7. Big Men finishing over smaller defenders more often.

                                8. Backing down in the post with not only strength but WEIGHT actually mattering.

                                9. Mid-Range Jumpshot one of the worst shots to take and shouldn't be relied on unless a player is an elite mid range shooter.
