Name just one competitive game that doesn't have some form of cheese tactics. League of Leguends, Starcraft, FIFA, WoW, CoD, should I go on? All of them have a few, cheese tactics or combinations.

Btw, the zig zag cheesing was addressed as best as it could given the mechanics. Those shots have a severe and noticeable penalty on the shot. Don't act like nothing was done.

This is pretty much my point. There is always going to be some exploit in these games because in order to completely curtail some of the stuff, you'd have to basically take make it impossible to do something fundamental to the actual game of basketball or just the human body in general. I see guys bitching about implementing real time physics and "releasing the ball to physics" and stuff like that. Okay, they can do that. You don't think some clown will start running right up to you while you dribble the ball up the court to trigger the ball bouncing off a foot? What about the guys that like to run up and just swipe at the ball for steals the entire time? 2K tried to fix that **** by tying intentional fouls to that and I'm pretty sure I recall the community bitching about getting whistled for intentional fouls they weren't trying to do.

I'd love to see some of these guy's suggestions for fixing certain problems they run into that will actually fix their issue, but not at the expense of replicating real basketball.

Exactly. And that's the part that gets tiresome. People have enough time to complain, but no time to suggest ways to fix issues without either being some pie in the sky bs buzzword some other game of another sport is using for a fluff feature. Or some hardcore, ultra realistic feature that gets abused in another way, leading people to crying about it. Most, however, just complain and offer no suggestions at all. The worst of those folks are the ones that paint the situation as so dire, the future of the franchise rests on its utter elimination. Nothing else matters, so every other thread end up being derailed by that topic. Not saying these guys are that group, but here we are, talking yet again about zig zag in a marketing thread. Now where are those lag gremlins and Crewbabies?

Re: 2K16 Marketing Affect On You

Personally I like the approach by 2k this year.

I understand we would all love to see some gameplay and years gone by we have seen a lot of gameplay usually by this period but i don't need to be hyped for 2k, I like hearing about the new modes and additions, but i'm more than happy to leave the gameplay until i can play the game myself instead of trying to watch someone play who is filmed on someones camera phone.

I'd much rather 2k tell me about the modes and a few new features through a developers blog (like they have this year), because gameplay is never going to be a perfect simulation of real life, and the minute some gameplay footage is released people are always amazed at first then they start to heavily critique the game and start pointless arguments on the forums.

I'm really excited for 2k this year, I think they have done an excellent job with marketing the game this year and not being too over the top about it. They have assembled a great team, they have listened to the fans, they are heading back in the right direction with MyLeague. as a long time fan...I am happy.

I'm also very happy to be hearing a lot less from Ronnie2k these days!...

Tbh, 2k should just keep it simple. They may not have a large marketing budget, and that's fine, but they need to can the tagline gimmicks and just keep it simple but effective. No more #BeTheStory and #YourTimeHasCome with Youtube hype machines. Just have a set schedule of content that runs from the end of July-October. Screenshots throughout (once a week), Developer blogs to get through the dog days of August (these can be accompanied by the screens), 3 trailers (one at the end of August, Momentous in mid Sept., and a launch trailer), 3-4 1 quarter gameplay vids in September (one a week leading up to release).

I know these are two different games but, the lack of NBA 2k info/gameplay is ok to the lack of info from bigger game company like Rockstar
            San Francisco Giants

            2010, 2012, & 2014 World Series Champion

            Oakland A's

            2012 & 2013 AL West Champion

            Golden State Warriors

            2015 NBA Champion

            Oakland Raiders

I have to say I'm the type of person who gets hyped on every single bit of info released, and the more info released, the more hyped I get

The idea of holding back info might build anticipation for some but for me, to be honest, I'm not nearly as hyped as if they were giving us new info every day

How the marketing affects me ,So far the most hype I've got is about a 6/10. A lot of nice info but nothing I cared about (gameplay ) I'm sure that's coming . Then I'll play online post patch 4 and all my excite nearly died out cause I'm scared 2k16 will play the same way

This is understandable. I'm like this in a way. And I think most people are like this. That's why the strategy is a build up to release. You don't need to be hyped up now. The goal is to hype you with fresh information by the time the game comes out.

Don't we already have enough info to quell this? Didn't Wang specifically address this concern? No more patches that unbalances shooting.

I really didn't see that post man. That's good news then. I'm just posting what the thread asked. How has the marketing affected me .

Re: 2K16 Marketing Affect On You

The marketing isn't my favourite thing...... the game however, is. Haha.

It would be humorous to me if the whole world could sit on the pre-orders and hint at "pre-order later" for the sake of irony, until the day before release...... that would be interesting to me. And I personally think the marketing method/approach would change. I mean if 2K had ZERO pre-orders and its the 2nd of September I am sure there would be some sort of "anybody out there?!?" scramble..... haha. Like a child, dog or significant other who is DYING for attention and realises something dramatic needs to be done in order to get it..... come on, that would be something.....

That said, it doesn't matter. The game comes out 25th. I will pre-order on the 24th. Get the game playing on the 26th (Aussie CR@P internet/PC download for 50gb)....... the rest is fluff in the end....market it, don't market it, just have my money and give me my game..... we'll keep ourselves occupied until then...

Yep. Different studios within the same company.

ha. crewbabies. nice. but yeah it's like trying to tell a mechanic how to fix your car. if you know how to fix it, why go to the mechanic? but they don't "know" the mechanics of a car like a.... mechanic.

i hope the game has a nice helping of mozzarella, gouda, abbot's gold, cheddar, feta, humble herdsman, swiss, and some romano for good measure so y'all will have something to gripe about when 2K17 rolls around. I Love OS! seriously I do.

who do i have to pay to get an i heart os t-shirt?

Ill be honest the announcement of relocation and the team creation options are all that was really needed to get my hyped, i cant say the marketing really had an effect on my, do like the weekly classic team announcement though.
