Yeah, but I am wondering how much these guys are expecting and how much 2K are giving some of these players.

Pistons team could've stayed even though it'll kill it for me and I know my friend will be very disappointed. He was super excited about the Pistons being in. I would've been cool with the Blazers being replaced since they didn't have Sheed, but maybe it was some last minute stuff.

I'm pretty sure if it's this big of an omission it's last minute. I mentioned previously but this happened with the 85 Sixers/93 Suns and Barkley.

And you'd be shocked what some guys want. I remember no one thought LeBron would ever be on a game cover because of the asking price and it was 10 years before he was on one. As far as what 2k is offering, I'm guessing 10's of thousands for most guys and probably somewhere north of 100K for the more notable guys and someone like Jordan upwards of $1M.

Actually they had kareem when they originally added them.

It's not a lie. It's called a bait and switch. Transparent would be releasing the names of confirmed guys in each team.

I know he was in originally, but he was removed after 2k12 (just like Webber) and when people got their hands on 2k13 they found they were gone. I distinctly remember reading comments saying 2k lied about the legend teams and they should've said this and that about them.

its understood that any legend at any time can drop out. It's not understood when you promote a new classic team that you're going to actually give a gutted version including missing one of the top 2-3 guys.

If Elden Campbell (originally the 10th man) is starting then don't insult the fans by telling everyone you got the 04 pistons. You didn't. It's actually a joke that DARKO is the best backup big man on that team.

If they had just been honest from the start and simply told everyone what players they got for each team I wouldn't have a problem with it, but this is a bait and switch.

If they had just been honest from the start and simply told everyone what players they got for each team I wouldn't have a problem with it, but this is a bait and switch.

It should also be understood that never every top player on these teams are guaranteed *cough* Barkley *cough*. Look I get it, people are upset right now, but if guys that significant to a team are missing it's because of something late in the game not getting completed keeping them from using their likeness. I'm willing to bet if PC modders get their hands on the files they'll find Rasheed hidden in them.

Also as far as the bolded, when have they ever done this? They didn't even do that in 2k12 and that game was all about legends.

PC modders are no longer able to affect rosters. The files have been too far encrypted and the main guy who built the latest roster editors for previous gen has been hired by 2K IIRC.

I respect your opinion on this matter. I happen to be on the opposite end of the spectrum. It's been cool having the 1985 76ers even without Charles Barkley. One Barkley create-a-player download and suddenly it's an incredible squad to run with, Philly Spectrum included.

Just the same, as long as the 2004 Pistons floor art is included along with seven of the 12 players on the playoff roster, I'm good with that inclusion. I'd much rather have to create one player to complete an awesome starting five than having no players at all.

for some reason I can't do that. Even if the created player is good, in the back of my mind i know it's not real or legit, and it just bothers me. that's why I could never use a custom barkley.

Just because they haven't done it doesn't mean they shouldn't.

They're asking for people to be upset and feel lied to otherwise. Be honest about the product you're selling or deal with the consequences.

Who's to say that adding these 2 teams some how took away time from other features such as graphics? I'd prefer them to have added two other teams with a more complete roster but I don't see how the addition of just two teams could some how hinder the development of other features. This is a big studio that has multiple teams working in different facets of the game at the same time.

Exactly. Really hate that they're putting the 04 Pistons in this game and it's barely 50% of the 04 Pistons. You can't use them at all like they actually played because of the gutted roster.

Should have just added rip Billups and ben to the game individually and not sold them as a team that wasn't really a team.

I'm not tryna twist anything, and if you wanna go that route then isn't the point of marketing and promotion to get you to buy whatever it is they are marketing to you? Well, if my job is to do that why the hell would I say "hey I put this in but, this is missing but buy it anyway." His job isn't to give you every detail, his job is to get as much hype as possible for the game to generate sales. If you want to sit there and get upset like it's some mass conspiracy to conceal Sheed didn't want to be apart of the game go right ahead. At the end of the day the 2000 Blazers and 2004 Pistons ARE in the game, just because they are missing a significant player doesn't mean they aren't. You wanna use the Bulls as an example, well I'll use the 87 Lakers. They have been in for years and haven't had Cap since 2k12 until this year, but does that mean they lied about the 87 Lakers? Come on man.

That's a crappy business practice for us consumers. but it is how 2k does business as they are not transparent about what they are putting into the game at times. Especially with classic rosters and servers.

Sheed isn't in the game because he refused to be in the game. It is pretty simple.

However, 2k refused to acknowledge this when they announced that the Blazers were going to be in the game because they like to mislead consumers.

This comes with the territory....I knew from the jump there would be omissions....but I'm not with scrapping the whole idea of classic teams because of it....

You have 7 full days to cancel your preorder or not buy the game....nothing bait and switch about it unless you willingly take it

Its more than just the players that get added. We get the jerseys, the court, heck maybe even John Mason yelling "DEEEEETROIT BASKETBALL". None of that would be included if the players were added individually.

I don't even care for the pistons (not saying they weren't good) but it's more the principle. they didn't lie and say he would be in there, but I am sure they knew fans would be expecting that. So, it's not like they were being dishonest..just a little sneaky. I wish they would have addressed it, since I am sure they knew this was coming.

maybe just a...hey guys, we tried. sorry would have gone a long way with smoothing over some of the backlash. I am sure they know that we know they tried, but just being a little more in touch with the fan base could have helped. kind of like a sign of integrity, or just being forthcoming. I don't know the exact word I am looking for, it's escaping my mind. (humble, owning up..I don't know)

Yea that wouldn't work...they did that with the WWE game. Because they couldn't get 4 women in the game. And a majority of the fans called them sexists, this bull****, I'm not buying the game, etc. PM and I will send you the link to the thread where I saw it all.

well..not with everyone of course..lol. just a little transparency would be nice..but since yeah, I can see how fans could be like that
