I question your reading comprehension skills because I've never made an excuse for 2k. I just said there are workarounds. People were posting and acting as if there was no way to get highlights on more than 8 min quarters and there is.


Also, you dont have to restart your console. Just the game.

Finally, it is about being old. This forum has become just a place to bitch and complain vs. a community helping find ways to improve games. Years ago, you could come to OS and if someone found a bug, others were looking into ways to workaround it until it was hopefully fixed.

Now people just come here to complain and bash and arent looking for a solution. The response to a workaround (especially an easy one) should be "Cool. Glad I can get this to work but 2k needs to fix this so I dont need to use it. "

Instead nowadays its "Why do I have to use a ****ing workaround? This game should work as advertised! I dont want to have to do anything more than start the game because I spent 65 dollars."

Ive been on this site 15 years (even before we started the new forums in 2002) and its sad what parts of the forum have become. With that said, if people want to use this thread to complain (and if that makes you feel better), feel free.

Just know that this isnt really backlash on 2k. Its one thread on a message board and its about a bug thats 3 yrs old. A bug that most of you knew about if you bought 2k14 or 15 and you still bought 2k16. 2k's really not losing here in any way.

Having to restart the game every game (something that isn't even feasable in play now btw) is not a valid workaround bro. Playing 8 minute quarter games? Yeah ...but after while that also stops working and you are back to restarting the game.

I understand your point of finding workarounds but your workaround is unacceptable and it really shouldn't be a thing we have to do. Its not going to stop me from playing the game by no means, but this is 3 years in a row that a feature that they keep hyping up is broken. And for you to seem to be okay w/ having to restart your game every time to get it to work, I find that silly.

If 2k sees that people are just ok w/ having to restart their game everytime, they will continue not fix this problem. To not use a car analogy, imagine if you bought a game and after every level the graphics took a hit. The game is still playable but looks like ***. But hey, all you got to do is turn it off for a bit and its back to normal. Is that acceptable to you? This issue doesn't ruin the game for me but there are people who this will kill the game for them.

Don't settle for **** like this. This is more than a simple let down. Its not like oh man that one shoe glitches out (happened one year IIRC), so I just won't use that shoe. This is a feature they advertised, and it doesn't work.

Halftime highlights are available for the ps4 and in play now. Now if your complaint is about the end of the game highlights....its partially your fault. EOG highlights didnt work in 2k14 or 2k15.

If the feature is so important to you that it "kills the game" and you didnt wait to confirm that 2k fixed it for the new version before you bought it...part of the blame falls on you.

Also, I dont think there are that many people where the fact that EOG highlights dont appear in 12 minute quarters kills the game. You would have to take all of the people who bought the game on ps4. Cut that down to the people who actually watch the Jordan Player of the Game and dont skip through it. Then cut that group down to the people that play more than 8 min quarters.

Even on a sim site like OS, half of the people in this thread have been saying that they never knew it was an issue because they play less than 8 minutes.

Now I'm one of the people this affects. When I bought the game Friday, I accepted the risk. I couldve waited and confirmed.

Finally you have to work on your analogies. Your game analogy doesnt work either. What you are talking about are two features that dont work: Individual player highlights and EOG highlights. The EOG highlights are just 4-5 highlights and a very small part of not only the game but the game's presentation.

Comparing it to a game's graphics quallity is ridiculous. If a game's graphic quality dropped every level, THAT AFFECTS EVERYONE WHO PLAYS IT.

This really only affects a small number of people who play this game. Does that mean 2k shouldnt fix it......hell no. I want them to fix it because I prefer the game on the ps4.

It is never the fault of the consumer for expecting a feature that they advertise to work. I didn't think I'd have to check to see if they weren't going to be chodes and not fix a simple feature for the 3rd year in a row. I went "oh hey, they sure are going hard for their presentation this year..must mean that thing is better now".

I did a ton of research on it and the weekend before I was going to buy the car I found a blog where hundreds of people were complaining about the transmission breaking down a month after people bought the car.

Now I wanted that car. I even considered buying it even knowing that the transmission was an issue. In the end, I didnt buy it though. Why? Because I knew there was an issue that was important to me with the car and I couldnt justify buying the car with such an important issue. If I wouldve bought the car knowing that it had a transmission issue and my transmission broke down...thats partially my fault.

Back to 2k. You keep saying "They advertised it"....well they really havent. The stuff they advertised works. The pregame show works. The halftime show works. The post game show works. The only thing that really doesnt work is the highlights package for the Jordan POG and I dont recall seeing one blog or video where 2k was hyping up the end of the game highlights.

The car analogy of yours would be valid if 2k actually were honest upfront tho. They hid and only showed off 6 minute quarters instead leaving it up to users to kinda hope they actually fixed it. And now they are avoiding it. Its not that serious but I am certain if a car dealership/factory just swept bad transmissions under the rug, their asses would be under fire. Games aren't as serious (or expensive) as cars so I'm not calling for people to be sued or fired over 3 second clips not playing but still.

All I really want is a statement that isn't lies (oh we couldn't get this working on ps4 because of space despite ykno everyone else not having an issue) or avoidance.

I get that yeah it is a niche that is effected by it and yeah I am hella glad that this so far is the only issue in 2k16 but that doesn't make it ok.

But cool. I get your POV and you did say you also wish for it to be fixed.

We know 2K is aware of it. This thread has been made for now 3 straight years. No way they're not aware of it. That said, it's either something that they can't fix, or involves too much to actually fix, and that it's not really worth it in the end.

The game is coded the way it's coded. Clearly there's something with the PS4 that limits the way the game saves highlights (evidenced by the fact that it works on X1). IF there's a way to re-write the game so that it works on the PS4, and IF it works, who's to say it then would still work on the X1? What else in the game would be affected? Nobody can know outside of the ppl that work on the game. Sounds like a copout, but 99% of us have no idea what the issue is, and with the way they (2K) have been working to improve the game, we should trust that they've looked into it and either can't fix it, or made the decision that it's too much risk to muck around in the code. Whatever the case, we're stuck with what we have, and that's that.

All that said, it's mind boggling to me that ppl would actually NOT buy the game because of this. I mean, yes it's a nice addition, but a gamebreaker? lol, man, I don't even know anymore. Hell, I think that if you have both systems, and let this one thing influence which one you get it for is a bit much, but I can understand. NOT getting the game altogether cause there are no highlights? What are you buying the game for in the first place? I just don't get it.

Me neither. Been lurking trying to find some good tips on how to get better at the game but all I keep seeing is thread after thread of people complaining about stuff. AI defense, sweat, and now highlights. Is anyone even playing the game...SMDH

Bought the game on PC. The highlights work just fine. I thought someone said they were told by a dev, that Sony want give them more memory. I have 4gbs of GDDR5 on my laptop plus the overhead on a pc with other programs running. There is no overhead on the PS4 and the Devs have access to more memory. What gives?

You do not have a feature working 3 years straight on one console and not on the other and blame the dev.

Didn't work on the xb1 until they patched it in last year. 1st on the PS4 they said it was how the PS4 records, but they have nothing to do with the PS4 streaming and recording chip, no cost to devs. Then it was memory, which the PS4 has a bigger bus and has more than my Laptop and I have the same memory type GDDR5. It's not a PS4 problem, it's a priority problem.

I bought it on xbox one and played on 12 min qtr and the highlights were great and ran great. but on the Ps4 it is still broken . So that led me to believe its a problem with the Ps4 and Sony. I have both systems .

I know your pain , I went throught this for 3 years too, and it is what makes the game. I went out and got a xbox one and it works fine on 12 minute qtrs . Yes its a ps4 thing not a 2k problem. I have both systems.
