Re: How does everyone feel about shooting?

After getting beat up on SS simulation the past few days I'm still having a hard time consistently putting the ball in the basket. Possessions are so precious this year and I feel like I have 5-6 wide open shots over the course of the game that just won't fall for me. Which ultimately tilts the game in the CPU's favor where they stave off my come back attempt or opening up a decent lead in my favor.

Things I did to be successful offensively in 2K15 just don't fly this year. So I have decided to take a step back and go into practice mode and become familiar with all my players shots to get my timing down. Also, I'm going learn a few plays out my playbook to help my guys catch and shoot in rhythm. Shooting is tough this year and I'm taking my lumps so I'm hoping something clicks for me over the next few days with the game.

I love the jumper I got for my SG in MyCareer. Had trouble knocking shots down at first, but now that my mid is up to like 78 and my 3 is up to like 73-74, I am shooting much more consistent. Hit a few that I shouldn't make, and miss a few wide open looks, just as it should be.

        All the feedback is helpful!

I can imagine that stuff is real tough, because if they aren't behind the line to start then they have to warp or slide to get back there which looks terrible.

This stuff has pretty much eliminated mid-range shots off the pick and roll for me.

Looking at the video, the problem wasn't the defensive recovery speed. It was that short gather before the shot and slow shooting animation that got you. I believe you was better off going in for the layup.

I really think the fact that the cpu gets EVERY shooter/lucky bounce to go in really makes me more upset at my shooting... Am I the only one who gets annoyed at that???

I also have the same problem with Curry's shot. It is a little bit too quick for my taste, and I can't get a feel for it at all.

I feel pretty good about Curry's shot. It's finally quick as it should be and the release is how I always felt it should work for him. He does actually shoot on his way up and not at the peak. I'm not sure if his release point is set up that way as well but at least he no longer has it at his peak with that hitch.

Re: How does everyone feel about shooting?

I like almost every aspect of shooting this year, but two that are bugging me are the amount of open shots missed and the fact that shots are counted as contested when the defender isn't real that close. I'm a majority PnR player and my game has been shaken up due to the fact that it's harder to create separation and when I do get a good screen and an open look, I get a bad shot feedback grade because somehow the game thinks the defender is gettin a contest in.

For me it seems like they just sped up normal release this year. I couldn't shoot the first 2 days then I realized basically every players release window is quicker than it had been. I'm still only shooting 39-41% but it's better than 31% previously.

I posted this in another thread...but right now I am having major issues with Steph's shot. I love the quick release.....but his release varies depending on the state he is in. His quick release only really works for me when his feet are set. If his feet arent set I have to hold it longer. if he is trying to shoot as soon as he catches...its off, a lot of time get red release and hit front iron on quick release. The last thing that bugs me is...if a defender is close to him sometimes he fades away....again, with another red release. His release times may be consistent but its all relative to his footing and movement. When on the move I hit way more with him by holding it longer. He also misses wayyyyy too many open mid-range shots with me. Basically, outside of freestyle...I havent found real consistency with his shot. Lebron is the worst though.

I echo this post....practice always helps. I dont like the playbooks at all right now though. Not only are a lot of the plays useless but they take too freaking long to start running the play sometimes.
