I really hope 2k devs don't read this thread. The blocks in this game are incredible and precise. My only issue is how many guards / swings can get blocks, but its usually because people take dumb video game style shots in situations where guys in real life would never attempt that. Nevertheless, I did get a tad frustrated seeing Brandon Knight block Gobert twice on two dunk attempts.. not from behind either, he actually stood in the paint like a center and waited for me to dunk it and got up and blocked it out of his hands as if he's Ibaka..

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Is it game breaking? No
Is it an eyesore? No
Can it be better? Yes, but if this is the best they can balance it, I'm cool.
Is it satisfying? Hell Yes, especially off the board and the sounds.
Should they mess with the blocks? Hell to the Naw Naw to the Naw Naw.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Blocks are ridiculous, ridiculously good. I get stuffed for a few reasons, forcing the issue, taking bad shots, or challenging a bona-fide shot blocker.
Earlier today, I was playing the 76ers in a back and forth affair and beat Kendall Marshall off the bounce with D-Rose. Headed to rim, only thing between me and a slam was Nerlens Noel, Noel stuffed me and rightfully so.
Nothing against you OP but I'm getting tired of the complaining here over proper basketball mechanics. You'd think no here has had their shot blocked, ever, or missed an open jumper, ever. If thats the case I should be seeing you dudes in the NBA and not on OS.#HellaBandz

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
I don't think u guys get it. It's not that the blocks are a bad thing. I thing 2k has a good system in place. The problem is when u on a break and someone chases u down with Rubio and blocks a dunk. That's just garbage, period. It also takes away from the true defenders and making them seem less special. I think guys like AD, Butler, Ariza, Lenoard, etc., cool. But Kevin Love and Mike Dunleavy are not defensive players or shot blockers.
They are bad defenders and should be replicated in this game. I'm so tired of seeing guys like kevin love make great defensive plays it's extremely frustrating.Last edited by MadManCometh; 10-07-2015, 09:55 PM.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
There are too many blocks from a sim aspect but it certainly isn't to big a deal. Makes the game more exciting.
If they tweak anything they should look at the "block" that really is just a steal when players arejumping for a dunk. If they changed those to a steal the stats would be a little cleaner.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
As a my career SG with a roughly 30 block rating, I actually have to agree. I average like between 1 and 2 blocks per game, and half of these blocks are swatting dunks in transition. I feel a tad bit cheap being able to consistently block Derrick Rose's dunk attempts into the third row by just timing the block button well, having invested zero points into the blocking statComment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
My 6'6 SG has a 59 block rating and I usually get 4-5 blocks on Hall of Fame. My player is like AK-47 in his prime lmao. We need a balanced game. Not just defense, defense, defense. The blocking is the reason why everyone takes mid range jumpers on the park. You'll think you have a clean dunk on the break and some 55 rated 5'8 PG will come from behind and swat you.
I've noticed that I'm one of the only players who uses the vertical contest. It's a pointless feature because of the way blocking is. Why even use it if you can swat everything?Last edited by LO6IX; 10-07-2015, 10:13 PM.Comment

There's no good reason for a big to be blocked by a point-guard's knee before he can go up with it.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
So everyone is a shot blocker now? U know It's ridiculous online when Ricky Rubio is blocking dunks. Other notables is Marco Belini blocked Igudola's dunk last night. I know kevin love is a big but should he really be swatting balls in the stands??? Last I check love wasn't much of a defender nor was he swatting balls all over the place.
I think the blocks are nice but needs to be tuned as non-shot blockers are blocking things they shouldnt.Last edited by shayellis; 10-07-2015, 10:14 PM.PSN: UVE_HAD_ENOUGHComment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
How do you guys find CPU blocks?Comment
-
Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
from my experience in MyCareer, the CPU blocks seem balanced fine
but it's really the user blocks which are unbalanced. Blocks, along with rebounding, do not require points invested in those attributes whatsoever. They just require timing of the triangle button, and not even precise timing, which makes them OP.
One game I had like 8 rebounds and 5 blocks with my 6'4" SG on superstar difficulty. I had not invested a single point into rebounding and blocks whatsoever. Yeah, that's unbalanced.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Give me too many rather than not enough everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Last year blocking shots was non-existent no matter what you did. I'll take too many for a mil Alex!"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment
