I'm not understanding why you mad about the defense taking what you gave them? I already told you how to avoid it. Either you start learning how to be selective with your shot selection, or you don't. If you know the two handed dunk is an easy block from the back, then why keep doing it? Every fast break doesn't have to end with a dunk.

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
for like the millionth time it's not a problem with the user putting up garbage shots but the user blocking the CPU's totally regular shots / dunks with a garbage blocker... are some ppl even reading what's being posted?Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
truth is i like them too. BUT it is over done. I think it has to do with the ball being live (or moreso than any other time in past games) during shots(jumpers/layups/dunks) and the reach of your player plays a factor now. in that regard 2k is very realistic. anyone can block anyone's shot if they time their jump and swat right. you dont have to be an elite shot blocker to do it. you dont have to be super tall to do it. its timing/anticipation more then anything else.
So the question is why are guys getting way more blocks than normal or realistic? more players need to be changing their shots in mid air to avoid the block. cpu and us users. because thats what people do in real life. This will in turn make you miss a few more shots because now you have to THINK about going in there and getting your shot LIFTED or someone sneak blocking you from behind. so you're watching everywhere. again, doing this takes your concentration off something else you might need to pay attention to. and that will cause you to make other errors. THATS realistic basketball and it can be simulated in this game if they tune those cpu offensive players to do more double clutch shots to avoid being blocked. or they stop taking certain types of shots around us shot blocking monsters. cause i'm telling you now. i'm sending shots back if i'm in the right spot. dont try it. lol. and i have yet to step into the park or pro am on 2k16. i'm waiting until i finished my 2nd season in mycareer.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
for example. if i'm using westbrook instead of dunking on people with his speed. maybe because i'm a pass first guy. i will use that explosiveness to get in the paint and dish off all the time averaging 18 assists per. that aint westbrook either. but thats westbrooks body/abilities with my mind.
Cpu west brook better play just like the guy i watch on TV. lol.
now read above about the blocks. There's reasons why some 6'9 guys dont block shots. its not because they CANT. its because they dont try to and or when they try to, their timing is usually off.
the question then has to be asked. why dont they try to? morrow aint short. he can block shots but he isnt a known defender. but could he be able to block shots ? yep. but he still doesnt. why not? he doesnt try to. why not? because he's not usually around the paint where the action happens. and his lateral quickness isnt that hot so if he gets beat on the perimeter thats it. he isnt catching back up. he isnt even trying to. because again he doesnt have the timing and he knows it. that means 2k has to simulate the reasons why. dont just fake put it in the game where a guy like him CANT block shots. thats not real. he could but he doesnt for other reasons.
i would like for you guys to stop thinking about things in black and white. "he doesnt do that so dont let him do it at all." thats not realstic. realistic is He COULD do it. so lets address why he doesnt. and put that in the game. so when a user controls the guy he MIGHT start doing what he normally doesnt do and it will be realistic. it will make for the most realistic basketball game ever. by far.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Nerf blocking for guards and leave it for the big guys. Having so much fun playing as a PF/C this year. I ave 3 bpg. At times I get 5-7 blocks per game.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
To me, CPU on User blocks are on point. User on CPU blocks do need some tuning. It's not really the blocks themselves per se, but the CPU shot selection on some short jumpers and especially put back attempts. Too many times they are trying to go up in crowd with a perimeter player, smothered chicken.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Just got blocked by Ty Lawson at 1 second left under the rim and I had Kevin Durant
Ty Lawson finished the game with 4 blocks.
Blocks have been costing me wins and they are absolutely ridiculous on fast breaks.
If you don't think blocks need to be turned down, try playing 5v5 against somebody that is good and see how many of your points are erased by 5'10 PGs blocking 7 foot players
and I don't want to hear about taking the right lay up. IDC what kind of lay up or dunk I take, if I blow past a defender that's a foot smaller than me there's no way in hell he's blocking my ball 4 times.Pre-NBA 2k12 V3.0 (360)

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
The chase downs are overpowered on all difficulties, especially user vs user.
The ball tracking makes the ball handler look like a complete ****** and the shot blocker look like Hakeem Olajuwon or Anthony Davis.
I think the problem is the ball tracking, when you go up for a layup/dunk the defender always tracks the ball no matter how good of a shot blocker or defender he is.
While he may not be able to go up in the air and block your shot, he can predict when you'll tuck the ball and "block" it.
It's getting old online.
There's no way I should be intimidated by Goran Dragic if I have Lebron James on the break. Either I should dunk on him or at least get fouled.Last edited by DurtySoufReppin; 10-09-2015, 07:00 PM.Pre-NBA 2k12 V3.0 (360)

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
I'm loving the half court defense, but the penetration scenarios need a little more tuning IMO. Whether it's clear paths to the rim on the break of half court sets, the defenders speed boosts on blocks are the only game killer I've noticed in this years 2k.
It has been toned down but the guards def need to be tuned down.
Try playing with a guard like CP3 and see how many times you get blocked while doing all the correct situational lay ups.Last edited by DurtySoufReppin; 10-09-2015, 07:09 PM.Pre-NBA 2k12 V3.0 (360)

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Blocks are OP this year. I blocked Blake Griffin's dunk on a chasedown 2x with Ramon Sessions in an online H2H match. I see this stuff all the time this year in this game. I cringe when I see it, but it's in the game and I know my opponent will do the same thing. Totally unrealistic.Comment
