    SS/Sim on ball defense.

All with footwork + right stick, no reach.

I also stop and show my settings after the play.

there is plenty of defense. The question is do you understand how defense works? Like anything in this game , its still about skill and the CPU should not do everything for you. Tqake time to learn the game. Watch some videos from Czar, others before you denounce the game.

        SS/Sim off ball defense

Guided Cassel through towards his assignment, before switching on ball with Winslow. Then, I read the screen play to Barbosa, and switch to Mad Max to react and make the play, then finish the FB.

The thing I'm trying to get here is, what is 2k themselves trying to show us with the default gameplay. What is 2k trying to show us in the game by starting us out playing with "THEIR" default gameplay. Every year I test 2k games out by just playing on their default gameplay. Because if you think about it, the default gameplay is what 2k sports wants you to experience.....its the giving gameplay that you play with when you open the box right.

So what does the default gameplay tell us about what 2k developers wants us to see this year. Better yet, is this default gameplay the idea of basketball that 2k wants us to play.....or is this how 2k wants their game to play. This is deep people.....before I change sliders, I always analyze what 2k is trying to give us....

And so far what their giving us is a BIG slice of rotten cheese. CHEESEeeeee

Devs have said they tune for a balance of realism/challenge on SS/Sim.

But its hard. Takes serious concentration the whole game. I honestly only play SS/Sim when I can have no distractions. It's tough, and I lose a lot to better teams because they force a ton of mistakes, but it is 100% possible.

While I admit that there are some flaws in game, some of you guys need to take Czar's advice and spend some time learning the game on Pro before leveling up. Another thing I hate is people complaining about the same things while they ignore others giving them the tools to help what they're complaining about. I've found that when I take control over subs, POE, etc. that things tend to go better than when I play casually and let the CPU handle those decisions. All people see is rocket passes and poor defense. They don't see that the personnel on the court is lacking at times, and while you might think that the CPU's way of exploiting that is cheesy, the ratings do factor in. You have the same tools as the CPU, most of the time people don't understand how to use those tools and think the CPU is "cheesing" when they just don't know how to use those same tools or aren't as quick as the CPU.

Lol there's a thread with somebody throwing the ball fullcourt to Anthony Davis for all of his teams points and beat the CPU on HOF. No adjustments necessary. This game is broken, period. There's no advice for that. There are so many threads detailing all the issues including one egregious one with Harden doing a one man baseline show in which defense and offense are moved out of the way on a layup. Inexcusable.

its great and all that you can fix SOME of the things with some adjustments, but the fact remains that its broken.

jeff green literally runs away from james harden when he is driving in to score. he doesnt make any attempt to fill the lane, instead he literally runs in the opposite direction. it shouldnt matter if your defense is set to neutral or protect the paint, that type of play by your help defense is not acceptable in any fashion.

and even sam pham himself says in this video that some of the defensive adjustments such as hard hedge are not played properly by the AI defense.

stop accepting mediocrity when it comes to video games. 2k should be fixing these issues, not the player.

I'm really happy that we can band aid some of the issues with adjustments for our team playing defense. I just wish the cpu played better defense. It's pretty linear now when I play against the cpu on pick and rolls. They always hedge and/or double...my screener runs like an absolute madman to practically the first row in the stands, anyone that rotates to him is quite literally behind the camera guys and from there I can make an absolutely gross (aesthetically) pass to said screener or just play out something else. The cpu defense is literally robotic and practically braindead. Ace isn't a real thing. The way the cpu hedges is sad, and also the animations are horrible. It's clunky and not organic at all, but I guess we wait for a patch or two and hope for the best.

Yes. You can make up for some of the problems...by playing good D.

Plan on getting some full length SS/Sim videos. Pausing to examine plays with ratings to show how not broken this game is.

Bottom line is some of you are not thinking realistic when it comes to basketball. Even the best defenses dont stop everybody. You give and you take.

You take away perimeter shooters then the paint is open and vice versa. Defense in basketball is not a absolute thing where you are going to get a stop every time.

If some of you aren't willing to learn basketball and refine your skills then I dont see how you can call the game broken. The game isn't going to do everything for you, as well as it shouldn't. You get what you put in.

Phams video didn't say "this solves all the games core issues"

Even when the game is patched it's not going to be a situation where you can just hold LT and automatically cover everyone on the floor....so it's definitely worth a watch....

Also another thing that people aren't factoring into defense is that every player on the court isn't a good defender.

How do you guys who are saying the defense is broken want 2k to represent this fact in the game?

For example, we all remember Otto Porters infamous play where he completely lost his man on defense . Some guys in the NBA suck on defense. Some teams suck defense. Do we want that realism in the game or do we want every team to be the 88 Pistons?
