Patch is not bad...
I definitely miss the weight and overpowering effect of posting up a smaller player with a big though. Post-up moves seemed to take a hit for some reason even though they seemed properly balanced before. I wish the more you understood how to work the post, the better your results... Not the opposite.
On-ball defense has improved for this patch; you can create more contact for reckless driving again and the elite defenders feel special! The shooting being tuned is fine but I wish they would revert them back to original settings with the minor touch-up in the mid-range category that they did, as that was the least amount of complaints or leave it the same the rest of the year.Comment

Don't know, game is playing well for me in the modes I frequent: PNO/offline/Pro Am, I just wished they wouldn't have touched shooting other than contested layups...I rarely complain about shooting but eventually we need to settle on some settings.
As far as blowing by guys, I'm assuming you guys aren't playing SS/SIM? because it feels like they boosted everyone's OBD on that setting....it actually feels more like it did out of box....minus the warping- which is honestly pretty annoying now that we've come this far....lol
Even with the complaints- having a lot of fun playing
I could not agree more. On SS/Sim is very tough to exploit isolation plays, pump fakes and transition offense.
Transition defense has clearly improved after missed shots. Even though bad transition defense is still there after made buckets. Centers gravitate near the baseline, inside passes and cuts early in the shot clock are the worst part of the gameplay. After more games played I’ve noticed that square button steals can easily replace those bump steals (we have to adjust, stealing is fine on drives). The ball comes loose at the same rate, we just have to do it manually. However, I feel that patch 4 has made full court pressing/trapping defense useless. I don’t know why I should play full court if the other team is able to pass half court with ease.
But I’m pretty sure that full court pressing/trapping is going to be reviewed going forward (2k17, 2k18, etc.). Pressing/trapping leads the opposition to easy points (more online than offline).
IMHO shooting is perfect near the rim (contact layups in particular). As I said a couple of days ago, numbers are close to real life counterparts. The only issue is that primary and secondary fastbreak wide-open three-pointers (even from the corner - feet set) have been lowered. I think they deliberately limited run&gun offense. I love that but in my opinion they exaggerated and took it completely out of the game.Comment

I just gotta readjust my game to patch 4 playing down low then I'll be fine . I'm very good in the high post as A PF so I'll spend more time there. I also need the guys I'm playing with to adjust their game lol#1 Laker fan

If we run big, I'll play center at 7'3 and my friend slides down to pf at 7'1. We never have to worry about protecting the paint then, because usually one of us will trigger an animation where the other one can come weakside and send the shot outta bounds.
But the real problem is one on one, like you said, I can defend big men but when guards come in it's like 15 again where I'm just completely whiffing on blocks...
It's frustrating because it used to be great sending everything away...Had games where I'd get triple doubles with blocks.
As for our normal lineup tho..
We usually have a 6'3 pg, 6'6 sg, me at 6'10 for sf, and our 7'1 center.
Our point is fine because he never shoots, averages at least 15 assists a game. But me and our sg are struggling to get our shots up. He used to be able to cross someone and hit a deep mid range consistently but now he has like 35% shooting games.
To answer your question earlier, my sf has max shooting max athleticism max inside and max defense.
So he (was) able to play inside out, either spotting up for 3's or inside hitting fades and hooks.
I was using the one jumpshot that looks like Rashard Lewis' release, but that stopped working so now I'm using Aldridge.
I have all the shooting badges and I get the same looks..just like, the past 5 games I've been so off.
And yea like you said, we still been winning the games it's just changing to a style I don't like anymore. We won't get rewarded for moving the ball as much and we don't get them nasty post moves when we exploit bad mismatches.
Kinda off the topic, but I was thinking of playing walk on to maybe get in a better rhythm post patch...but it never starts. It'll get to 10 people then start dropping guys till everyone quits.Last edited by HowDareI; 12-19-2015, 01:05 PM.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.

Will they ever let you be able to steal passes in this game oh my god man. Every ****ing pass goes through your hands and whenever you get a tip the offensive player gets a speed boost to get the ball back.
What the **** man? It's like they hate defense over there at 2K.Comment

Overall I'm enjoying the game more now after the patch.
Still wish guys were a little more responsive tho. I hate the delay when you push your stick or hit a button. Hopefully next year finally.
Also wish there were some art updates (Bucks court, hint hint!).
But like I said, I'm enjoying the gameplay more than before, so that's a big plus.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Patch #4 Available For PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC - Details Included
So, after going back and forth, I really do NOT like this patch. Before the fourth patch was released, I won about 50-60% of my games (moving between All-Star Sim and Superstar Sim), but since the patch, I am....wait for it...1-14. I mean, I am TERRIBLE. The last game I played (Pacers vs. Grizzlies, Play Now mode), I was down 19-5 before I gave up and hit reset. That being said, I'm not here to whine, or say how much the game sucks, I'm just frustrated that the patch has changed so dramatically what was possibly the best sports game ever.
P.S. My NBA Today hasn't updated since the patch downloaded. Is anyone else seeing this?Comment

How can you use your personal losing streak as a reason to dislike the patch?Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Patch #4 Available For PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC - Details Included
I think you misunderstood. As I said, I'm not here to whine about a losing streak. I was just using the drastic change in my record since the patch to show how much this patch has changed a game that really didn't need to be changed. But hey, if you love the patch, that's cool. Not saying you shouldn't. Just expressing the opinion that I, personally, do not.Comment

It's the first time I was able to hold CPU under %40 shooting. ( all-star 12min) And now I think shooting percentages are a lot better. You guys are used to high stats and feel like you can't hit anything. Please 2k don't change the shooting for offline modes. It's perfect as It is.Comment
