In park or pro-am it's not likely you are gonna take catch&shoot mid-range Js on regular basis.

off the dribble or pull up? yes
    catch&shoot 3s? yes
    catch&shoot 2s? not really
It depends with which player you are playing.

When I play with my PF Athletic Finisher in ProAM or MyPark, I do Pick&Pop very often. Because I'm an Athletic Finisher, my opponent seems to think that he only has to defend the rim so my jumpshot for 2pts is essential for me I have 73 in midrange shooting but I think I score around 75% of the time.

I consider it worth it if you're already competitive at the game. It's just the upgraded blocking badges are underwhelming. It's the other archetypes like 7ft3 Glass Cleaners, Stretch Bigs and AF's that get the crazy blocks against my teams. Paint Protectors generate random clanked dunks and they generate more loose balls but their blocking ability is not intimidating - not from my share of experience playing with them and against them. They do lock up Post Scorers very well.. outside of that you still get dunked on by Stretch Bigs under the rim.

How do you save your MyCareer progress? I created a 6'6 SG Sharpshooter on "The Prelude" prior to NBA 2k17 and just now resumed to where I got drafted.

However, everytime I exit MyCareer and go back in it didn't save any of my progress and I restart at Draft Night. Its really frustrating..

Is this a corrupt file and I need to delete/restart, or am I missing something?

          Yeah you're right.

Mid-range can make more sense for bigmen, that can be left open within the 3 pt line more often than guards and small forwards.

However, guys put some effort in developing hotzones in your MyCareer, no matter which archetype you are.

It does pay off when you go to the park or pro-am.

              Hi guys.

I'm about to start a new career, but I'm not sure which player I want to go with (will use it for both offline career and the park). I want to build a small forward inspired from Josh Smith and I cannot decide between slasher, lockdown defender and glass cleaner. Lockdown defender's inside scoring - layups and dunking mainly - seems too low to me, while glass cleaner's lateral quickness also isn't too exciting.

What archetype do you suggest I go with?

Slasher and give him a 3 ball [emoji6]

Do you get a lot of blocks with him? Even though my 6'8 LDD SF has 94 block and rim protector bronze I hardly block shots. I've been considering a paint protector lately .
Unfortunately, height is still the most important factor in getting good block animations in 2K17.

I have a 6'8" paint protector that I've used for about a month now who has 94 block, 79 vertical, and 91 strength ratings plus the hall of fame rim protector & chase down artist badges, and the only times that I get good block animations with that character are when I'm trailing the shooter on fastbreaks. When I'm standing at the rim waiting for a player who's dribbling right at me, I tend to get bullied and bodied, even when the heights/weights/strength ratings are close to even or are tilted in my favor.

Yet I was able to make a 7'2" post scorer tonight and take him into MyPark with 0 badges and 0 upgraded attributes in defense, and right away, I noticed that I was getting some nasty block animations that I had never seen before on my 6'8" paint protector who has superior defensive ratings and badges.

It absolutely stinks that the game is still this way, but 2K just hasn't found out a way to give smaller players with good shot blocking ratings good shot blocking animations. And conversely, 2K hasn't figured out how to make taller players with bad shot blocking ratings have bad shot blocking animations.

What does Shoot off dribble apply to ? Is it only for moving shots or is it also for shots taken just after having moved ?

I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading it to the maximum as a Point Forward or if I should put a few upgrades in Strength instead.

Shoot off dribble helps with teardrops, floaters, spin jumpers, hop jumpers, pull-up jumpers. It's pretty useful honestly, but I'd rather put a few upgrades into strength if you have no upgrades there.

If you are a point forward, strength is an absolute must

The player I just created is a 6'8" with minimum weight. His strength is only a 27 and if I upgrade it to the maximum, it will be a 49. Should I change the build to get more strength ? The problem is that a 6'8" is kinda slow for a Point Forward so I wanted to give me a little more speed with less weight.

Weight is important because with low leight, you can't get around strong players.

I look point forwards up with my 6'10 260 PS cause they are low strength.

Not that I agree or disagree but why is your opinion so strong here? Strength is an absolute must for a Point Forward? How so? What is the minimum you would suggest?

I have a 6ft6 Playmaker with 50 strength but I don't have a Point Forward. I do play against bigs with my 6ft7 Sharpshooter SG who also has 50 strength and a 6ft9 Paint Protector who also has 50 strength.

I have yet to experience what it's like to have 60+ on your base strength.

As a Point Forward, I would play the 3 in ProAM and also play some MyPark.

I created this player with minimum weight because MyPark is full of fast players and I'm also not planning on doing contact dunks over 3 opponents so I thought it would be the best build even with low strength.

What weight or how much strength would be decent for you ? And if I have to put some upgrades in the strength column, from what other column would you take these upgrades from with a 95 overall ?

                                Spoiler

Or maybe should I go with a 6'7" PG Playmaker not to have this strength problem ?
