Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
A lot of people say the restrictions are no fun cause they want to run around with a Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Shaq, LeBron, KD, or Dirk type of player.
Well the trade off to not being able to make that anymore is that nobody can really cheese online anymore and it's a trade i will make everyday
The first ONE/hit is always FREE. #CRACKComment

But you can make guys with like 80% of the skills the more one dimensional stars have. Athletic finisher is a lot like BG (not as good at passing, but just an average defender and ok rebounder like BG), Reggie miller is basically just a sharpshooter, The point forward is exactly like draymond except for the elite defense. You might lose a facet of a stars game but you can get pretty damn close unless you want to be Lebron
Go study up WOW (World of Warcraft). You have CLASSES just like you have ARCHETYPES.

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
Yes, i agree that this build has low strength and will be pushed out of position by bigger rebounders. But he can also jump twice in the time the bigger man jumps once, and he can outmaneuver them through agility in the 70s.
I think the tradeoff is worth it, but yes, low strength is something you have to be ok with.Comment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
If wanting to go 6'10 stretch big at the 4 spot, what weight do you guys think I should make him? I don't want him to be too slow but want him to effectively play the 3 and the 4.
How about the arms is everybody going short armed? Do you notice the short arms effecting your ability to alter and block shots?Comment

I agree with this.
If players wanted to be like those players they just gotta play at that level realistically.
You don't need a max pass rating to make the smart pass or a amazing defense rating to play good defense.
Scoring areas are different but taking what the defense gives you (unless you don't have a jumper) will get you baskets.
I've always thought it was pretty wack that bigs took a shooting nerf on 2K16. You height should never determine your jumper.
Last year they had a 75 3pt and 85 mid. That 3 could be sagged off consistently and that's wack if you a shooter. Plus they give up the rebounding and defensive stats this year.

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
I do wonder how a very small defending PG will do in this game. They will be I think the fastest players in the game so on transition and backdoor cuts they'll be pretty good.
Maybe if I make a second version of my PG I'll try that out for a few games.Comment
