There's thousands of things in the game, a few that aren't or don't work well. You can choose not to buy, but you're costing yourself playing a very good basketball sim.

But if you just want to whinge about a relatively minor issue, whinge away.

You are definitely one of the people who just look for a reason to complain.

They did in 2K16 though, at least a few of them.

Have they added a heap more to make it truly realistic?

For what i saw, NBA 2K17 is not the exception.
They lie to us when they say that courts will have Arena specific lighting
The lighting looked ok to me.

A problem with these pics is the real life one is facing towards the court from the stands and the 2K ones are facing away from the court. Of course the one taken in darkness will appear darker.

Every arena isnt off. Just a few. A few of the more important ones though. If they got the lighting in Utah wrong, no one here would be saying a damn thing.

Some people like to play a game where realism is at a really high end. 2K is somewhat there, but I honestly feel they slip away in that department when they easily could have the game even more realistic than it currently is.

I used to spend hours in 2K11 editing rosters and importing custom sounds to make the game feel far more authentic.

Sometimes it's hard to justify buying a game year after year, particularly when something you like isn't to the level you want. The game is obviously great in a gameplay sense, but I don't think it justifies a purchase every year like some on here think. A lot of the time problems from previous 2K's seem to reappear and you feel as though you're playing an older 2K.

Not really, I just choose to spend money on products that meet my expectations. You don't, and that's perfectly fine. I'm guessing you've bought all past iteration of games from franchises that you enjoy despite having complaints.

The Warriors color were one of the concerns people had in past. I never had an issue with it despite me being a life long Warriors fan. I still bought past 2k games with incorrect Warriors colored. I never complained. People brought it up, I noticed. Still didn't matter to me because that part didn't concern me.

The same goes with MLB the Show. If the concerns aren't addressed for future iterations, I'm skipping. More importantly, I actually found a baseball product that's superior.

It seems the equipment measures the light temperature of the lights. From cold(blue) to warm (yellow)

This is completely different than making the stands darker or lighter.

And NO. Not every arena is off.

I for one will not be buying it this year. I'm not buying because I am certain the halftime and end of the game highlights are still not fixed for the PS4 on 12 minute quarters.

I didn't buy NBA2k15 because they took out the halftime show with Damon Bruce's voice over (I understand why they did because of what Bruce said in real life; I still love his show, listen to it everyday); I bought NBA2k16 because they added back a halftime show, unfortunately, they should have also kept the technology used for the halftime show in NBA2k14 when scores and upcoming games around the league were mentioned. NBA2k16 still plays a solid game of virtual basketball and I'll get my NBA2k17 (along with NBA2k18 and NBA2k19 and NBA2k20) fix through youtube if 2k doesn't fix the halftime/end of game highlights on the PS4. I might switch over to the XBOX if it comes down to it (because the highlights work on the XBOX, not this year because Scorpio isn't getting released), but as of this minute, I'm keeping my $65.

FYI, the halftime highlights work. The end of games dont for any game over 8 min quarters.

Also, the X1 highlights work but the trade off is for some reason the patches on X1 release weeks after Sony. I switched to X1 because of the highlights bug but switched back when it took a month after Sony release for the first big patch to drop.

I'm not even sure how we could tell just how "off" the lighting is unless you've physically been in that arena personally. I've been to three NBA arenas (Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte) and they all feel different but for LA or NY I honestly have no idea aside from what I see on TV which is filtered.

Closest thing I can think of is an unfiltered picture taken from court side at a similar angle. Even then it's hard to get a real good sound comparison.

The gameplay is amazing so don't let these things make you not want to get the game.

Haven't felt this much freedom with dribbling since

Offthread topic: But it seems as though PS4 halftime highlights don't work after multiple consecutive gaming sessions. I've had issues where they would simply show the stats break down without any halftime highlights. I would go XB1 but unfortunately I'm hesitant because the Scorpio isn't getting a release date this year. Had they never announced the Scorpio, I'd be gaming XB1 NBA2k17 this year come release date.

Plus, I could wait 2 months for XBOX patches. Fortunately, that aspect doesn't really concern me.
