Anybody have any big scoring games? Think the most I put up was 16 in the Olympic game.

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
After spending the afternoon playing it I honestly agree with him 100%.
The game feels and looks great, and throughout the entire Prelude you really only get a very small taste of a very small portion of the game. Can't control a single NBA player, or call a play, or play very much in the limited games you have in college.
Also I thought that we would be able to get drafted, I don't remember them saying that we would hear Silver say the first few words of the draft and then be prompted to pre-order. I really wanted to see where I landed.
In all, I really can't wait until the game drops, its going to be a fun ride.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
It actually blows my mind how 2k gives us a chance to play a little of the game a week early to get a head start on MyCareer.
And people either are complaining that "it wasn't long enough", "I got bad feedback cause I spammed the pass button", "was only able to play on the court for 30 mins MAX and that was a joke", or it just wasn't the demographic that 2k was trying to appeal to.
Like I want to grab myself by my own shirt and throw myself off a tall building...
All 2k was trying to do was give people a little gameplay a week before the game releases. They didn't have to do this, and they NORMALLY DON'T.
Like I understand people are entitled to their own opinion, but I mean good god. It's extremely hard to even stay in this forum right now, now I understand why people left.

I fully understand that, what I am trying to get across is the disappointment that we don't get to play more.
I'm pretty sure I'm feeling exactly how 2K wants me to feel. I had a great experience in the limited time I had, I am even thinking about making some extra user accounts on my PS4 just to play a few more timesComment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
100%
I got B+ performances every game, with an A- in Olympic only coz I didn't turn it over and my draft grade stayed mid first round.
Just had zero time on the ball, teammates ignoring me, especially when cutting to the paint, and you get more playtime in the later games but its still probably max 5-8 mins.
The worst is how the CPU offence holds the ball literally the full 24 secs and if you try and go wild you get punished (as it should be)
If you play as a PG tho at least you'll get the ball
What is also nice is how literally every aspect of the story/dialogue etc. is based around your physical attributes and your archetype.
Like my player is really skinny and my 'mom' on the phone says I need to eat more, I can imagine that would be different if I was a big guy.
I also think that your special teammate (so the guy in college and Michael B. Jordan in the pros) will play a role that directly corresponds to yours.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
I did get 1790 VC early tho which is good.
Likewise to be able to access the app and get extra VC is always good.
Anyone know if I delete my player and start again on the full game that my VC will be moved to a new player?Comment

The point of it ending at the draft is to make you wanna get the game to see where you get drafted. I think it's great marketingComment

I guess its a bit more like, why go through the effort to give us a 15gb taster when we literally can't use it? as I said in my original post, its not like they were cutting space or trimming it for the prelude, it was fully packed and immersive with cutscenes and everything, and had loads of nice touches, but then the most important part, in which you actually have time to play the damn game is completely neutered by getting like 5-8 mins on court max and half of it is just standing guarding a guy who is never getting the ball.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
I'd definitely be more intrigued if I was on the fence or new(er) to 2k. but again if you get literally zero time to enjoy the admittedly great gameplay (besides not getting the ball despite being the star man) its gonna frustrate you and make u think the full game is gonna be like that.. which it is at first. this part is the grind part, to attract new players they gotta make it more flashy, so you can be dominant in college, or to keep the returning players happy, give you some time to actually play.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
as a shot creator I wanted the ball on the move and they would only pass when I was standing still. I'd then get locked down and have to pass it off again, move into space and then just be ignored.Comment

Wait, can you not play the prelude over as many times as you want? I want to try different positions and builds.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
I dont understand man...
I'm scoring 25+ in every game trying hard to do as much as i can with so little quarter length, getting a bunch of steals and blocks and got 2 double doubles in the 4 games
yet after every game I get told how I'm not living up to expectations and how I don't have any identity and that I'm basically average as can be
The little show where that guy talks about you he went on a big speech about how I should be called the governor and not the president and how I should be impeached and ****. I mean...ok
I'm a PG Lockdown defender 6'1. a few steals every game, 5 or so assists, never more than 1 turnover, and 3 or 4 rebounds. Teammate grade always A or A+.
Try spreading out your contributions maybe.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
I saw a 2KU video from the prelude to learn controls, except they make you play 5v5 with generic players that don't even have names. I understand they don't even have to give us this "demo" but cmon. Even if just Paul George in an empty gym would be better.
