I want to have the freedom to create whatever type I want. And since I'm not going to compete online, this should be possible.

I mean, you can't even recreate certain player types. If I want to make a Dirk PF who can dominate the post and shoot from mid and deep, I would have to go with stretch PF or post scorer, but I can't combine post scoring and mid/deep range shooting. Same with MJ and Kobe, you can't have a deadly post fadeaway and at the same time high shooting and/or inside scoring ratings.
But where's the challenge in that.. I guess it's fun. I think you are exaggerating on how restrictive the caps are. But hopefully in the future we have this option. I personally wouldn't play it - be too easy.

Doin work - and badges have nothing to do with getting to 99. But you get all at bronze except your archetype which are gold.

Even if you put in work you still can't exceed the ridiculous caps on your attributes. You only get extra upgrade slots. You can probably only get to high 80s.

True, but it's also about fun. I would be totally fine, if there was an option to go offline, not being able to spend any purchasable in-game currency on attributes or badges so the only way to upgrade your player is to earn it by playing career games. I mean, theoretically you can get your player to the max in the rookie season and then you're not able to develop him afterwards anymore which is pretty unrealistic.

But I don't want to rant that much, havn't played the game yet. I really hope, that shot creating SG's can be the way I want them to be.

Maybe we shouldn't even care so much about attributes, you can probably be deadly from 3pt-range with an average rating if you perfect your jumpshot. For dunks though, I'd like to know if you can put up certain dunksets on slashers only due to the dunk ratings.

Yeah even if I hit the cap on all my towers there's no way I'm a 99.

Made a 6'7 230 lbs, Slasher SF. Really liking him right now. Got to a 60 with the vc I earned and went off in college for how limited I was. Got drafted 7th by the Nuggets. Wanted to go to Toronto or Portland but I'm fine with this. Going to finish my contract with them before I decide if I'd want to leave.

College stats: 12.3 ppg, 3.7 apg, 5 rpg.

Went 1st Pick to the Sixers, doesnt make a lot of sense when Ben Simmons still gets drafted

league isn't full of 3&D players, if so they wouldn't be such a rare commodity

And you know that how? Did you hit the cap on all the towers?

I'm pretty disappointed tbh. Only played one game, but I am a 6'11 glass cleaning PF (55 overall) and I played the majority of minutes at SF guarding MKG. Plus the team made it a point to give me the ball in the half court at the top of the key despite possessing no ratings whatsoever. Seems like the same flaws present in 2k11 still exist here. Shame.

6'8 PF really enjoying the game only 62 so far.

O you don't have the game yet? Well just wait then - I'm a lockdown defender 6'8 PF only 62 overall and I have no problem with the caps. You are just assuming that it's a copy of 16 just with different caps. Well no. Regardless of caps it plays way different. Atleast to me. I'm loving it. Already love it way more than previous 2ks.

Not sure how many people know this, but in 2k16 if you went into create a player and input all the attributes that a maxed out my career player would have (all 100 upgrades), you would have a player rated in the low 90's. I did this with all positions and some different bucket combinations and the highest any of them had was about 93. So yes you can be a 99, but it is an inflated 99. I am pretty sure it will be similar in 2k17. I don't mind this actually, just thought it was kind of funny. People love that magical 99 number.
