oh well. was really hoping ACE or at least the strategies that we select in game in MyCareer, or any other mode really, would stick and apply properly. also, I've go no idea why they don't allow us to select offensive and defensive game plans in MyCareer. it would help us develop a personal play style instead of brute force styling on the CPU.

In my experience it doesn't appear as if you can, then again I miss every opportunity to hang out with players because they tell me when they want to hang out except the stupid calendar doesn't show when the event ends, so it ends up conflicting with a sponsor.Comment

I have seen Lillard and a couple others unlocked but I haven't checked My Team mode for confirmation. I was under impression it was singly related to Career and "connections".

Is this what's meant when your connection notification tells you "x player was unlocked"?

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
In the midst of an wild playoff run with the Nuggets.
Beat the clippers in 5 in the first round on what I considered an upset even though we were the higher speed (3-6 matchup with just 1 game separating us)
Then the pelicans somehow beat the spurs in the first round, giving me a relatively easy 2nd round match up. Breezed my way to victory in 5 (did suffer a 31 point game 4 beatdown that hurt my feelings).
Of course, drew the warriors in the wcf and was thinking this is gonna be a beatdown. But, in game one, we come out firing and take a 10 point lead early. The wheels start falling off in the second quarter and the warriors open up a 9 point lead. I go to the bench and am thinking it's gonna be 20 by halftime but our bench actually does work and has us within 2 at half time. We then open the 3rd quarter on an 18-0 and lead the rest of the way. We let them get within 5 but hold them off for the 98-89 win. I had 24 points and 12 assists but Justice was the star. He scored 31 points and was fearless launching 21 threes! This is either gonna be a super fun series or the warriors are gonna come back with a vengeance and make like miserable for me over the next 4 games.Comment

So if I don't play Prelude will my player miss out on anything huge? I can't seem to figure now to create a new player to play at a different position. I played only one game when Prelude first came out and now I actually got 2K and dont wanna miss to much

As far as I know it's just a Demo. Everything that is in Prelude is also in the retail game.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Yeah that's correct -- I played the Prelude to its conclusion and then started a new MyCareer when the game came out. It has all the features The Prelude does so you're not missing out on anything.

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Just finished a game and I can't believe how many cheesy, terrible animations I just sat through - both on offensive and defense.
- Being pulled out of the post just so I can be stripped is fun (Literally. Started backing down and then appeared to be walking away from the basket as if I was ran down aware. Awful.)
- Twice shutting down a post drive, the ball spills from my opponent's hands only for him to recover the ball and score before I finish the first animation
- Being cherry picked because you're stuck in a replay or focused shot of your My Player after your team scores, AI lobs it down court and you're unable to stop your opponent
- The ball bouncing off of your forehead when going for a rebound (both offensive and defensive)
- Got called for an Over The Back (usually I'm ok since they're usually obvious and easy to avoid) but in this case I've got front position, jumped for the rebound and had another player go in front of my whilst I'm mid air. I end up landing in this animation and called for the foul. I checked the replay and the 3rd person (and the player that ended up being "fouled") started just under the 3pt line as I went up.
Look I hate to complain and I do enjoy the game but surely we don't need so many terrible animations. I ended up intentionally fouling out of this game in frustration. Just an awful experience.

That's because your team mates offense & defense attributes are based off of your attributes. No matter what there stats currently say(Dont believe 2k mycareer stats for your team). All of your team mates stats in mycareer come from your current attributes.Thats why they are block heads sometimes. Its because your stats are low. Your team mates don't rebound well because your mycareer player rebounding stat is low.
Its been this way since NBA 2k14/2k15.
When your increase your layup to eg:75. Then your team mates layup ability is 75.
When you increase your shots in post. You also increase your team mates shot in post.
You should notice that when you increase a specific tendency/attributes FOR YOURSELF that your team mates all of a sudden perform better in the same category you increased for yourself.
Bottom line you want your team to play better then increase you attributes in said category.
If your team sucks at rebounding then increase your rebound attribute/offensive awareness attribute. If your bigs can't score in the post then increase your post attributes(watch them play better).
If your getting dusted in fastbreak then increase your speed attribute. You will still get the invisible wall but your team mates will move faster down the court.Comment

Which kills a lot of realism and is wildly unrealistic.
