I'm targeting Ian Clark with my expansion franchise this offseason.

Do you know which draft class you used?(what was their gamertag?)

Nicholson doesn't do much to help the team when he's on the floor, he's a waste of money imo. He gets less minutes as each game passes. It's gotten to the point where I'd rather either have a center or one of my taller sf's play the 4 rather than put him in the game.

Get Ian Clark!!!! He's been a knockdown 3point shooter for me every game so far.

I'll get back to you on the draft class though, I'll have to check when I get home.

It doesn't help that I absolutely hate 5v5 gameplay this year.

Well in comparison to other teams anyway, my starting 5 would be their depth. Nurkic, Patterson, Derrick Williams, Crabbe, and Jennings are my starting 5. I think that's a big reason why I'm having trouble playing the same AI difficulty as I do in my Jazz MyLeague (where I beat the Cavs last night by 15). I think I'll have to sim to the offseason to build my depth up through FA and the draft.

I actually just picked him up. He's going to be my 6th man. Nice scoring punch off the bench. As for Nicholson... figured as much.

          Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

So I decided to abandon MyLeague for a while and give MyGM a shot since I haven't played it yet this season.

Started an expansion team; Calgary Flames.

          Roster after the expansion draft is as follows;

          G: Corey Joseph
          G: Malcolm Brogdon
          F: Thanasis Antetokounmpo
          F: Montrezl Harrel
          C: Dewayne Dedmon

          6th: James Ennis
          Trey Lyles
          Justin Holiday
          Glenn Robinson III
          Chris Andersen
          Toney Douglas
          Anthony Bennett
          Malik Beasley
          Diamond Stone

Pretty happy with the team that I put together Brogdon was a steal. Tried to get some Canadian blood on there as well. Anderson and Douglas brought in for veteran presence plus they were cheap.

About a third of the way through the season the owner tells me to trade Ennis. I reluctantly complied. Made the best of a bad situation and managed to flip him + an unprotected first round pick in 2020 for Charlotte's top 5 protected pick in 2017.

We finished the season 35-47, 10th in the East. Birdman retired.

Draft came and due to Kemba being injured and the implosion of Charlotte in the second half of the season I had the 7th and 11th pick in the draft.

I traded down my 7th pick and gained Brooklyns 2018 first round pick (unprotected) as well as the 18th pick in the current draft. I had to trade Malik Beasley and a 2nd round pick as well to make it work. Which is fine, I want to have 4 first round picks between 2018 and 2019 so I can put a package together for someone relatively big player (not a franchise guy but maybe somebody like Bledsoe or Jabari Parker).

With the 11th pick I drafted Jayson Tatum.

With the 18th I drafted some other guy, can't remember his name but I plan on using him as trade bait anyway.

          After trying to sign Steve Kerr as the coach and failing miserably it was on to free agency, not many changes but a few worth noting. Team is now as follows;

          G: C.Joseph
          G: M.Brogdon
          F: T.Antetokounmpo
          F: M.Harrel
          C: D.Dedmon

          6th: Ian Clark
          Trey Lyles
          Jayson Tatum
          Glen Robinson III
          Anthony Bennett
          Diamond Stone
          Marshall Plumlee

I think we've gotten worse, especially with the bench but I like Clark and honestly I'm willing to tank so I can get a pick with good trade value.

Keep the updates coming, I'm interested in seeing how the team pans out. Which system are you playing on? I couldn't remember who's draft class I used, plus I made some edits to it. If you're on Xbox I'll just upload mine for you to check out if you want.

So has anybody had any luck signing a player to a 10-day deal? I do a real time Laker MyLeague so I do all the real life transactions for teams and I tried to sign Alonzo Gee and Quincy Acy to 10-days deals with the Nuggets and Nets but they flat out refuse to sign them. So then I edited a free agent down to 40 overall and he didn't sign one either. Is it a glitch or something?

With that being said, does Anybody have a good way of attacking the Expansion Draft? The first two attempts have left me with a rubbish team.

I haven't decided when I want to start the league, but I'm leaning towards the past offseason to mix things up, so that would probably take out any of the young guys that are left unprotected from the 2016 draft.

                Any help, well, helps.

I usually go with young end of bench type of guys, but I usually expand the league in the off-season of 2016-2017 season so I can build my team immediately with expansion draft, draft then free agency. That sets me up pretty well and by year 2 & 3 to be in the playoffs as a nice young team.

Starting a new MyGM with my expansion team in Omaha, and was curious how people manage a 82 game season. I didn't want a shorter season but also don't have time to play 82 games.

My question is how many games do you sim vs play to get the thrill of playing with the team you are building as well as making the playoffs but not have to play all 82 games...

I sim every game and if its close in the fourth quarter the last 6 minutes I hop in. I play every televised game and the playoffs if I get there. Oh I also always play the game on opening night.

Well, I already have a Bucks and a Heat one going, so I'm going to start a Brooklyn Nets MyGM tonight.

I'm too far into the other 2 to start updating, so I'll start with the Nets one

Oh nice, I kinda like that idea of hoping in during 4th quarter... In terms of televised games how many does that roughly equate to throughout the season for you?

The draft and free agency are over in my Wolves MyLeague it's opening night of the 2017 season for us on November 1st. Actually got through the offseason quite a little while ago but just haven't updated as I've been on a bit of a break from my franchise. Here's what happened.

On 7/17/2017 we moved PG Ricky Rubio to the NY Knicks for an 18 2nd round pick (Clippers), Swap Worst (NY). The reason behind this deal for us was basically to just move Rubio. Didn't really care about getting much value back, just wanted to move his contract without taking a similar contract back in return and the Knicks trade provided us with that. It actually appears to have worked out well for NY as well. They ended up letting Rose walk and drafted 19 year old athletic 75 OVR De'Aaron Fox. They got to replace injury prone Rose with a cheaper option in Rubio while drafting their potential PG of the future. Fox can come off the bench and play behind Rubio for a couple seasons as he develops.

We struck another deal on the very same day sending our 17 first round pick for that draft alongside C Nikola Pekovic to the 76ers for their 18 first round pick which is lottery protected and SG Timothe Luwawu Cabarrot. Saw more value in removing Pekovic's 2017 season salary 11M salary to further open room to chase a superstar in free agency then holding onto him and using our first round pick in the draft. We were a playoff team so we weren't even in the top 15 picks and I saw no one I really liked beyond that point. So the Sixers gained our pick in that draft and we gained theirs for this upcoming season assuming they aren't a lottery team. Betting on a Embiid, Okafor, Simmons led team to not finish in the lottery.

We made two more trades both on 10/04/2017. First one was SG Seth Curry to the 76ers for a 19 2nd round pick (Kings), Swap Best (MIL), and a 20 2nd round pick. Mainly to move Curry.

Second one was PF Nemanja Bjelica an 18 second round pick (Clippers), Swap Worst (NY) to the Hawks for a 20 1st rounder that's top 5 protected.

Only major retirement was Paul Pierce who was made a HOF'er. Celtics retired Pierce's number 34 jersey adding on to their lengthy list of retired jersey's.

In free agency we struck out on the superstars we went after. We tried going after Durant who just won the ring he left OKC to chase who was fresh off a torn left ACL during the series winning Finals game for Golden State which will leave him injured for 6-8 months still. Thought we had a great shot at him as his huge injury was keeping his market very small on offers, just us and the Warriors. We matched the Warriors offer of 3yr 98M with a player option for a 4th season. We offered a NTC and GS didn't but he still chose to head back to the Warriors.

We also made a run for Blake Griffin who ended up heading back to LA with the Clippers on a 5yr 146M deal.

Went after Chris Paul who also re upped with the Clippers on a 3yr deal for 98M. So missed on all 3 targets.

Big signings: Curry to Warriors 5yr 146M
Derrick Rose to Mavericks 4yr 97M. Geuss they got themselves a bit of a mini big three now with Dirk, Barnes, and Rose.
Nerlens Noel to Bulls 4yr 83M
Kyle Lowry to Raptors 3yr 94M
Gordan Hayward to Jazz 5yr 146M
Caldwell Pope to Pistons 5yr 111M
Serge Ibaka to Magic 5yr 76M.
Paul Millsap to Kings 4yr 133M

Our signings: SG JJ Redick 2yr 17M. Did land one guy we really wanted in Redick. Great shooter.
Shaun Livingston 1yr 3M. Basically Rubios replacement as backup PG. Comes with playoff and Finals experience. Plus a nice midrange game.
                          PF Michael Beasley 1yr 1M.
                          SF Anthony Morrow 1yr 1M.
                          PG Norris Cole 1yr 1M
SG Shabazz Muhammad 1 yr 4M
Picked up Yi Jianlian's team option for 980K.
Last but not least, SF Rudy Gay 1yr 21M. Gay was lingering on the market after the stars left the market and no one was after him so after missing on the stars we wanted we circled back to Gay. Us being his only offer we snatched him up for just a 1yr deal. Not bad.

Overall not the greatest offseason for us, definitely didn't go as planned but we did alright. Mainly depth and bench additions though. Gay returns for at least 1 more season as our sixth man while Redick comes off the bench as a great shooter for us. Even though he comes off the bench he does get more minutes then Levine at 27 compared to Levines 25. So we did improve. Tried to keep most of our deals to one year commitments to keep as much room open as possible for next offseason to hopefully get that big fish free agent we missed on this offseason.

That's it for this update. Sorry if the post is a bit long.

Tried setting up Play Now with the Raptors from today. Sliders left as default, but all games are double what they should be, so I'm getting scores of 200 plus when I simulate. The work around is to drop the simulated quarter length to 6 minutes, but it's pretty unrealistic.

When I simulate all the current free agents resign with their current clubs for nothing. Tony Allen signed a 2 year 4 million deal. I can resign Pat Patterson for only 3 million a year.

                            Any ideas?

Just finished a Clippers season. Played all 82 games, 12 min quarters. I went 48-34, although my point differential was terrible. I averaged 103 ppg, and gave up 103 ppg. I shot 47.4% from the field and 36.8% from 3P. I didn't make many roster moves. I signed Kevin Garnett and traded Wes Johnson and picks for Rudy Gay when Mbah a Moute was clogging my offense.

Ive loved playing with this team. I've got a couple of vids showing 5 mins of sim basketball offensive highlights from throughout my season (2K at its best) and a heap of Deandre Jordan blocks.

What place did you finish out West? & what team will you be playing against in the playoffs?
