What's more important when simming games; a higher overall or position balance?

So when running a team it's best to have three players of each position rather than five point guards with really high overalls, right?

I'm blowing up the Knicks and tapping into free agency and was wondering if I should sign players based on team needs or highest overall; I'm in win-now mode.

How can I change the base playbook my coach uses in MyGM? I see that Kevin McHale is using the Houston Rockets default playbook, but as you mention would like to have him use the Blazers playbook. How can I do this?

That's what I always do. I try not to change rosters too much to keep it realistic and that way rookies play their rookie season on their correct teams. I'm trying to wait until after the all star break and do a start today then expand and add the Sonics & my Spirits.

Should be able to change it in coaching in the MyLeague/MyGM main menu. You can also pick and pull plays from other play books too, you just have to pick a base to start with.

Oh ok, I found it under coaching sliders/settings. I thought it would be in the "edit playbook" option but was just overlooking it I guess.

            Thank you!

I would like an opinion/advice if that's alright.

I am Timberwolves in Year 1.

I am being offered Hassan Whiteside and Josh Richardson for Jordan Hill and Kris Dunn.

              Would you take it?

I unloaded Shabazz Muhammed to the Bulls for Doug McDermott and Zach Lavine is out 1 month. I am 18-4 i think going into mid December.

There is a god level SG in the upcoming draft.

If you got offered that I would take it without hesitation your unloading an unproven prospect and an rotation big man for an all star type Center and an young two guard that can shoot. But if you want to be realistic I doubt the heat Irl would offer that deal it's an terrible deal for the heat but if there offering it hard to say no.

                  Thank you!

My coach is also mchale in my expansion team in myleague. Im also planning to change my playbook to blazers but right now i lacked shooters and i want to focus my plays mostly with my rookie josh jackson at ibaka. So i stayed with the 4-1 freelance and rockets playbook to have more spacing for pnrs

Thanks dude. Sorry about the wrong thread.

It was shocking offer as most offers i get are highly in the AI's favor. I went ahead and took it and it cut into KAT's MVP numbers having that reb/blk machine at the 5 but i like Rubio at the Point even though he's not as good on D as they made Dunn.

                    Appreciate the feedback.

To piggyback on this though.... you brought up a question I once had that I forgot about. Has anybody compiled a custom playbook that has a mixture of different plays that I could use with my rotations? I know there's about 100 different playbook "money play" how-to's on YouTube, but I was just wondering if anyone had their own custom playbook that helps you basically go from running 3pt plays with the warriors playbook to more physical plays from others?

I am in season two and added Buffalo and Seattle as expansion franchises for the 2017-18 season. Buffalo went (18-13) and made the playoffs in their inaugural season with Seattle finishing (16-15) and just missing out. Golden St beat Cleveland in the Finals the first season and both are #1 seeds this season.

Kansas City will be joining the league in 2018-19 with three more expansion teams over the next five years to round out the league at 36 teams.

You should put sim game length tot he full 12 minutes, and simply change the "Sim Stats" & "Sim Minutes Played" to "YES/ON". This way even though you play 6 minute quarters, it will adjust your players "minutes played/efficiency ratings/stats (points/rebs/assists) as if they play for the Full 12 minutes. This way everything is on the same level.

If you start averaging 85 to 110 points per game on 6 minute quarters, I would turn off the "Adjust stats" as you are most likely getting stats comparable to the CPU simulating a 12 minute quarter game. However, keep the "Adjust minutes played" to ON so it looks like your guys are playing 25 to 30 minutes per game and not 12 to 16 minutes. It just looks weird and can cause efficiency ratings to look way off.

                                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Wooohooo, finally got started with my Pittsburgh Condors. I wanted to start over the weekend, but family trumps video gaming every day of the week.

After a terrible first season, finishing off by finishing 2nd worst in the entire league, we found a way to parlay our 2018 1st rounder into another top 10 selection at 9th overall. However, after approving a rule at the Owner's meetings, which should have amplified the 3 worst team's chances at getting a top 3 pick, it did the exact opposite, and my #2 odds slipped to a 5th pick.

Through trades through the regular season, I was able to add another 2 2nd rounders and the Warriors 1st rounder (29th overall) for a grand total of 6 picks in the draft. Primed for a haul, I stuck to my plan, I drafted Markelle Fultz at the 5th pick. As picks came in, closer to my 9th pick, I realized that with the teams that bridged the gap between my 9th and the 12th pick with the Hornets, so we struck a deal, in which I received a top 10 protected pick in 2018 and the 12th pick for the 9th pick and the Spurs 2019 top 10 protected 1st rounder. Despite Jayson Tatum going #11, Jonathan Issac was still on the board so I took him at 12. Not back for two first round picks. We rounded out the first by taking Mykhailiuk from Kansas at #29.

The second round started with us dealing our second and Skal Labissiere to whoever drafted Marques Bolden in the prior round. Seemed like a good deal, getting a 72 overall C to backup Muscala. I then added T.J. Leaf and Josh Hart to round out my picks. I was really happy that thing worked out the way they did.

In the offseason, most players went back to the team's that they were with the year before. There wasn't much movement amongst big players in Free Agency. Of course though, the Sixers let Noel go, so I snapped him up for 3 years. I hope to develop Bolden in that time, because Noel can't play a lick of offense in this game unless he's dunking the ball. We also added Ian Clark and Robert Covington on one year deals to shore up the bench to complement the starters (Clark's offense to complement Brogdon's defense).

As we enter 2017-18 my Condors look like this, the goal is an 8 seed or better. I don't want to give the Sixers a top 2018 pick because I sent them it unprotected for the pick that became Jonathan Issac.
