I only control my team in my league but for trades I just make them 3 team trades and for my user controlled team I end up swapping 2nd rd picks with one of the 2 teams I am trying to make trade with each other and use trade override to make the deals go thru.. Per example in my league its 2019 Eric bledsoe contract is up so I traded him to the rockets

    Rockets get: Eric Bledsoe filler

Suns get: 75ovr Rookie PG with A+ 3pt shooting a 2019 1st round draft pick and a filler player and Bulls 2019 2nd round pick

Bulls Get- 2019 suns 2nd rd pick

I also turn on trade approvals so no bad CPU to CPU trades are done

During the off season I wait until players sign and if they sign with a bad team or not a good fit I turn off trade logic and assign them to a good fit per example

Carmelo Anthony signed a 4yr deal with the Brooklyn Nets who are terrible so I turned off trade logic and assigned him to the Thunder who need another scoring threat and had the space to do it

Yea that's from embrace the pace and i play 12min quarters with 75 game speed Idk off hand how many minutes he is averaging but in rotations it is set at 35 but I think he averages more around 33 prolly. Yea that guy is a beast if u play him right he dominates the paint and gets like every defensive rebound there is and usually gets at least 3-4 offensive rbs a game which lead to easy putbacks not to mention I like playing old school basketball attack the basket then kick it out to the 3pt line so he gets lots of scoring opportunities his steals mostly come on inbound plays when he ls covering the inbound man and blocks are just because I love playing defense

Approaching the 2017 off-season with the Bulls and I'm torn between two moves for the sake of realism.

        Move #1

        Trade for Melo

        Move #2

Sign Bosh to 2+1 deal after being released by the Heat.

I don't want to game the system but I want to make a win now move for the Butler/Wade duo.

Both moves would give a 2-3 year window to compete before Butler's deal expires.

Which should I do? Which is more realistic?

If u trying to be realistic Chris Bosh may never play again so signing him would be a bad move Sooo I say trade of Melo

Disregarding Bosh's real life injury, I'd say sign Bosh. Wade, Butler and Melo requires two players to play out of position, plus it's just too many ball handlers in the starting lineup.

However, neither trade makes you a championship contender IMO. Sounds like something the Knicks would do.

For example, Philly kept offering Steph a contract, and I kept declining it when he accepted, but in the end he was signed anyway. I'd like to know if there's a way to have the CPU offer contracts, but for me to block it if I think it's unrealistic...
I just started mine up last night, and using a spreadsheet of sorts, was able to keep track of which teams needed what in free agency. Took some time, and I definitely refined it to make it go faster, but it worked for me. Next one should be a little faster.

I also use a spreadsheet for the drafts, with my own little formula to rank players based on their letter grades in the create/edit menu. From this I either give best player available according to my formula to a team, or best positional fit based on formula.

Just about to start the season and see how it goes. I'm thinking of simulcasting every game and limiting myself to only playing a single quarter. I'll most likely limit myself to the first half for the first few seasons.

Starting Lineup for my Vermilion Spiders (Las Vegas)

                  PG: T.J. McConnell - 73 ovr
SG: Allen Crabbe - 75 ovr
                  SF: (R) Brandon Ingram - 79 ovr
PF: Bismack Biyombo - 77 ovr
                  C: Jusuf Nurkic - 76 ovr
                  6th: Doug McDermott - 74 ovr

I'm gonna try and nab a PG at some point in the season. I can possibly ship Crabbe (Jodie Meeks - 74 is my backup), or move Biyombo to C and trade Turkic for a PG (I can either move McDermott to the 4 and Meeks to 6th, or Mickey(72)/Garnett(72) to the start). We'll see how it goes.

I'll be using Embrace's 2017/2018 DC's, then FDU DC1, and hopefully FDU DC2 if it is finished by the time I get there. 2017 has 4 PGs in the top 6, so I'm hoping to grab one of them. Not sure who I'm targeting for 2018 just yet.

Hey, everyone. Glad to see I'm not the only one that loves myLeague/association/dynasty modes. I've had some fun in my day. I am *admittedly* an NBA Live guy that first went with 2K14. On Live 10 I won with the Lakers (with Dwight), Lakers without Dwight, Celtics with the Big 3, Celtics with the Big 3 and others again, custom Mavericks with Carmelo, and then the Spurs. I actually won 4 championships in 5 seasons. For those interested, I have blogs that I wrote in 'dynasty' style for the two Celtics seasons and my Spurs seasons. You can find them on my profile.

On 2K16, I won with the Spurs again. Very fun. I enjoy looking at your guys' shot style changes threads and sliders threads. Make the game even better, and I still owe a lot of you guys for keeping Live 10 going for so long.

Anyway, I had already started a new myLeague with the Lakers, since they're kind of good again, but my OCD self couldn't get over Ingram not having his tattoos and me hearing about the already awesome but more improved presentation of 2k17.

So, long story short...I will be playing with the Lakers as soon as my copy arrives from Amazon, tomorrow! Ingram looks good, and I already have the wingspan thread bookmarked to fix some player issues I've heard of. Like D'Angelo looking fat in the original game. I also have not lost with "my Spurs" yet, so I will probably fire that slightly custom roster up again. And also, the Lakers look good with Magic running Showtime! My coworker gives them 2 years to be relevant again.

Alright, so on 2k16, I was torn between just riding it out with the youngsters or making a play for a star player. We know the real Lakers stood pat at the deadline, to mixed reception by fans.

Before Cousins went to the Pelicans, I was looking to acquire AD on the Lakers in 2k16, even if it meant trading away almost everybody. Should I still do it? I also lost interest when AD told the media "I'm not going anywhere" and that was *before* Cousins got shipped.

Anyone got any ideas? My 2k17 is installed now, gonna fire it up tonight and start myLeague.

How do you guys feel about Paul George? I know Lakers might get him in 2018 as a FA...

I also really want to try one out with the Lakers. They obviously have a lot of good young talent, I just don't see any of them as All NBA Players, and I just can't do a Lakers rebuild without an MVP candidate... Just doesn't feel right lol. Russell is a good playmaker, and decent scorer, he's the closest candidate probably. Ingram has really been downgraded since release, and it's justified. He's decently productive, but not great at anything at all. I like Clarkson a lot, but he's not All Star potential, and really not that far away from his peak. Randle and Nance Jr is a great rotational power forward duo though. I've thought about doing a custom roster, where the Lakers and Philly switched position in the 2016 draft lottery, thus having Simmons on the Lakers and Ingram on the 76'ers. Would be awesome having Simmons running the new Shotime Lakers era! Then there's the contract situation, how the hell do you get rid of those awful Luol Deng, Mozgov contracts without doing cheesing the CPU GM's: nobody in their right minds would take on those contracts.

Well the season has begun, and the basketball is being played around the world. Except here in Chicago. We had the pleasure of our season opener being a home game, against the vastly improved and talented Boston Celtics led by point guard Isaiah Thomas.

Thomas, didn't show up big though in this game as he was missing shots left and right. It could be attributed to the defense of Rondo. Chicago played a great defensive game in this one, but Avery Bradley would prove to be too much for the Bulls as he led the Celtics with 18 points. Jimmy Butler was the work horse for Chicago scoring 22.

After the game I was asked into my first official press conference where the media was asking me questions about the expectations I have for the team. Well that simple Win... I want to build a dynasty one that will rival the likes of the Spurs, Lakers, Bulls, and Celtics. I want this version of the Bulls team to be viewed as the next great organization built on integrity, passion, and determination. I want winners that will win by any means necessary.

The media ate it up, and enjoyed the banter I shared with them. In the press conference I also announced a trade with the New York Knicks. As we traded Joffrey Lauverne, and Christiano Felicio for Willy Hernangomez and Marshall Plumlee. Hernangomez will be one of those blue collar, hustle guys for the team. I like the intensity that he plays with and the way he cleans the glass. His presence in the paint could be a commodity to the organization as we build toward our future.

Our second game was an total embarrassment as we lost at home to the Pacers to the tune of 154-114. Paul George scored 28. We looked lost defensively making horrible reads in rotations and just playing sloppy and bad basketball. Jimmy Butler was our lone bright spot scoring 30 points on the evening.

As I analyze my team with every game I see that three-point shooting will be a achilles heel to our team moving along. Roster plans are rather uncertain as of now but it is to be believed this team will be making major moves as the season progresses.
Returning to the UnstoppaBulls: Bulls Blog #3: Looking like a long season.

Well if you look up the definition of struggle in the dictionary Im sure there will be a photo of the Bulls logo. We were blown completely out by the Pacers which quickly meant this rebuilding process was in full swing. As you see I have been here attempting to clean up some of the mistakes the franchise has made.

Things began when I traded Paul Zipser to the Lakers to bring veteran Metta World Peace back around full circle to the team that drafted him. Following the trade I received a call back from the front office in Phoenix saying they liked the deal I sent them for PJ Tucker so I sent sharp shooting swingman Anthony Morrow to Phoenix for Tucker. The last deal of the night saw me send dancing machine Cameron Payne to San Antonio for Dedmond and a late 1st round pick. While I may have bamboozled the Spurs here in this deal the name of the game isn't how to make the other team good. Its how to make my team better right now.

The trade showed its worth as we went to Brooklyn to battle a team in far worse shape than we were. Brooklyn, struggles were evident as Jimmy Butler continued his hot streak scoring 28 points in the 109-103 victory. Sean Kilpatrick was the workhorse for the Nets as he notched 22 in the loss.

Chicago would then get an early rematch with the Celtics. However, they'd suffer the same fate as the season opener. Losing 117-109. Butler scorched the Celtics this time around scoring 36 points. Isaiah Thomas would shake his bad night however, and drop 31 points in the game and earn himself a player of the game nod. After the game I gave the Thunder a call and made a deal that would add Jeramy Grant to the team. His size and athleticism could be great addition to the second units defense.

Our next opponent was the New York Knicks. This game was one that bothered me heading into the night knowing that we would be facing off against D-Rose and Jo (Noah), really was getting under my skin. So I made the call to trade for Rose. I sent native Chicagoan Dwayne Wade in a deal to New York straight up for Rose. The move allows Wade to play along side his friend Carmelo Anthony whilst I bring back the hometown kid. After acquiring Rose, Rondo was available to the field so I sent him to Indiana in return we received what I hope to be our sixth man in Monta Ellis. The next day we went to Indiana to challenge the Pacers and lost in a snoozer 89-115.

I do believe tho that things should be changing in the near future.

Can somebody tell me how players progress in MyLeague?

                              Is it:

                              1. According to potential + player's stats/boxscore through the season OR

                              2. According to potential only?

I read somewhere it was only according to potential (which sucks).

Also, if I created a player w/ peak age 30, does that mean he keeps getting better until age 30? Or if I make it peak age 25, does that mean he stops getting better at age 25?

It does suck, but my experience suggests it's potential only. Stats doesn't seem to have an effect on it. However, injuries does, and I think progress slows if he's not playing as well.

With regards to peaks, "peak start" means when you can expect him to reach his full potential. He will be around his potential OVR until his "peak end". So the time-frame within "peak-start" and "peak-end" is his peak. The time-frame up until "peak starts" is where he progresses and gets better, and the time-frame after peak-end is where he degresses and gets worse. Having him reach his peak at 30 is a bad idea in my opinion, as it makes him develop really slow. Normally you'd have him reach his peak at around 26-28 and have the peak end at around 31-33.
