It recalculates badges based on a combination of ratings+maybe tendencies. If you start in offseason you typically quite a few HOF badges on players.
    Curry gets 6 or 7
Thompson usually gets Catch and Shoot and Corner Specialist
    Reddick gets shooting ones
Kawhi, Draymond and Avery Bradley usually get HOF Defensive Stopper+Pick Dodger
Odd one is i have seen Al Jefferson get HOF Drop Stepper, must be some combination of strength, shot close, post shot/drop step tendencies

      Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Got a bit inspired by an earlier post to start a MyGM with the Sixers and run with Ben Simmons as the point guard. I've started out the season 3-1 and are going up against the Cavs now. I've let go of Bayless, Rodriguez, Saric and Ilyasova, along with the 2017 Lakers pick. Got Harkless, Ronnie Price, Randy Foye and Bembry in return. I know that's some weird trades, and really low return value for me, but this roster is too loaded with mediocre-to-decent level players, I had to balance out the rotation and bring in some guys with smaller contracts and who won't make a fuss about their lack of minutes.

I kept the entire logjam situation of big men talent on the team for now though. I just can't decide who to let go between Noel and Okafor. They bring different things to the table, but right now I'm leaning towards eventually trading Okafor, as I see Noel as the better fit with Embiid. Noel could be the rim protector and screener at the center, who also sets screens for Simmons, while Embiid could be a perfect inside-outside scorer from the power forward position. Then Richaun Holmes could get advanced minutes from the bench to make sure Embiid also gets to play center during the games. That's the logical decision to make. However, Okafor is currently my top scorer coming off the bench, so I have a hard time just trading him, especially since I kind of like the current set of players on the team, so there's not really a spot I want to upgrade for in an eventual trade.... How have y'all solved the Sixers' front court mess?

Checked & yup, most of those players badges have improved. Chris Paul has a few & maybe this is the reason Redick is averaging a career high in points. He's on the Kings in year 2. Kinda threw me off at first but they need a SG & I'm a fan of his so I don't mind.

I can't wait to see them two and how they're going to utilize that front court. Possibly the two best big men in the game, playing together on the same team. Could very well be the best front court in NBA history if they can make it work.

Ha I was thinking the opposite and wanting to start a Kings MyLeague, as it appears they will be very raw and in search of their new center piece.

But with both teams being bottom dwellers for most of recent history, either would be a blast. Boogie/AD IF (a HUGE IF) they can work out the chemistry could be one of the best front courts in NBA history.

                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Last year I did a sim rebuild and played it until release with my hometown team the hawks. I saw myself not playing much the first few months when I got 2k17 so I decided to not worry as much about the sim part and just have fun. I am not just making trades just to cheese the CPU for the heck of it or anything like that. I am in the 4th year mid season with a record of 32 and 9. I am having a blast playing with the team and finally got the team near perfection. I missed the playoffs year 1 and lost in ECF year 2 as I had lots of injuries. I won my first championship in year 3. I will sim the games and jump into them if its close in the 4th quarter. I will play the majority of the playoff games or atleast until I know I have decided the series.

                *** Starters ***
                PG Dennis Schroder - Age 26 & 82 Ovr
I start Dennis at PG as he is my favorite player in real life even though he should be coming off the bench. I am trying to squeeze one more year of starting him till I have to move him. I cant shoot with him, but he has speed and playmaking ability and can drive to the rim. He went down like 2 points this offseason.

                SG Stephen Curry - Age 31 & 91 overall.
I got lucky and signed him as a FA after the first year and moved him to SG. Like Dennis his overall went down a little and is now over 30. He is having his best year so far with 28 a game. He has had a few major injuries and still should be a elite shooter for a few more years.

                SF Linaglo Ball - Age 21 & 84 ovr (6'6 240)
I had the 6th pick in the draft and traded it along with Paul Milsap and few more draft picks to move up to get him. I expect him to develop into a MVP candidate and take over as the guy as Steph gets older. He came in well rounded and is elite shooter already. It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the best player in the NBA.

                PF Kristop Porzingis - Age 24 & 87 ovr (7'3 240)
I had targeted Cousins for a few years and ended up getting Porzingis as I didn't want to give up one of my PG's. I had to pay a lot for him which was Kevin Love, Josh Jackson, Tauren Prince (77 ovr), and some draft picks one of which is currently at pick 9. I just made this trade so I haven't had a lot of time to use him yet. It also allows me to move him to C if I want to play small. I cant afford to lose him to injury as I don't have a great deal of depth in the frontcourt.

                C Walter Tavares - Age 27 & 76 ovr (7'3 260)
With progression and training camps he has improved 8 points or so and is another guy I am have a blast playing with. He gives me two guys that are 7'3 and as soon I made the trade Walter got hurt so I have yet to try them out at the same time. The CPU doesn't play well with him, but when I control him he gets every rebound (A+). He also has 94 shot blocking so that and rebounding are his only jobs. I use him to set screens for Dennis alot as he is a liability on offense.

                -----------------------
                *** Bench***

                PG Markelle Fultz - Age 22 & 84 ovr
After I barely missed the playoffs year 1 I was suppose to have the 10th pick. I got lucky and moved all the way up to #3 and went BPA with a PG. He is becoming a force on offense and can shoot and has A+ in playmaking and A- in athleticism. He should win 6th man of the year again and be a all star next year if he starts.

                SF OG Anuby - Age 22 & 78 ovr (6'8 235)
I drafted him with the 1st pick in the 2nd round and started a lot his rookie year due to his injuries. He took a back seat last year and with the recent trade of Prince and Josh Jackson he is seeing a lot of minutes. I almost lost him in FA this past year and I am going to have to pay him this offseason. He is a defense specialists with a rating of A and has A- potential. He is useless on offense outside of layups. When I go small I have started playing him at the 4.

                PF Tony Bradley - Age 22 & 77 ovr (6'10 235)
I drafted him in the 20's and while he isn't a complete player he can score down low and rebound with B+ in both of those. I would like to keep him coming off the bench that way he can play the 4 and 5. His rating moved up several points when I moved him to PF. He is a low end double double kind of guy

                PF Mike Scott - Age 31 & 75 ovr
He has always played way better in 2k then his rating shows which works out for as he signs for the minimum. He is a perfect stretch 4 off the bench.

                -----------------

                *** Reserves ***
                PG Shaun Livingston
                SG Seth Curry
SF Deandre Bembry - He has yet to get a lot of playing time just resigned for the min.
SF Rondae Hollis Jefferson Age 25 & 78 ovr - Don't want to play him unless I have to as I will trade him soon
PF Thomas Bryant - Age 22 & 73 ovr I just signed him last month he was a FA and won't be back
                C Marcin Gortat

                *** Cap Room ***
                -4.72 Million
                Luxury Tax room 14.82 Million

I have Porzingis signed for 2 more years so he will be 26 then so I'll give him a max deal for however long he wants. Curry also has 2 years to go so he will be 33 then and I am guessing high 80's rating. I am not sure if I will bring him back depends on what my cap situation looks like as I will have to pay Fultz after next year. I am hoping to bring OG Onuby back I just don't want to pay 10 million a year for a defense only guy off the bench so I may let him walk. I had to take on Hollis Jefferson in the Prozingis deal and he is owed 10 million for 2 more years after this one. So I'll dump him for some draft picks this offseason. I will likely have to trade Schroder at some point as he makes 15 million a year and has 2 more years to go. If I want to keep Bradley down the line I'll have to pay him 10 million a year. Tavares and Scott both play for the min and that greatly helps out my cap situation.

                *** Draft Picks ***
My own 1st for the next 3 years
Pistons 1st this year that's top 10 protected (currently sits at 11)
I traded away all my 2nd round picks

                  Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

One of my players asked me to up the training intensity in MyGM. It was already at high so I upped it to very high. Also decided to look at my trainer, he was a C- with a badge to reduce injury time length by 10 percent. I fired him for a B- trainer with one badge to make players get less fatigued in games & the other hmmm I can't quite remember.

The very next game 2 of my top players get injured in the 4th for multiple weeks. Haven't dealt with injuries all season (20 games in) so it leads me to ask, is this just a coincidence? The game was the second of a back to back so I don't believe the team even had time to train.

I actually like that I'm finally seeing injuries again after not seeing many when they were patched but I will say multiple top players in one game hurt me. I'll adjust though.

Also, are the MyGM badges or whatnot over powered? I always keep them disabled. I'm open to hearing any development training tips as well. Can you change the player type in that section of training? I remember in a past 2k Kevin Love's three point shooting would dip after a couple of seasons because he was trained on his default rebounding player type.

                    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Just decided to pop this game in. I preordered it back before release and have had it since then, but never had the time to actually put some time in. I really liked the choice to do the entirety of last summer over, and even start with a few expansion teams.

I went this route, decided to add the San Diego Surf (user) and the Baltimore Barons. (I'll try to remember my starting 5 for each season as I'm in season 4 now). Celtics won the lottery, followed by 76ers, my Surf had 3rd pick, followed by Barons. Simmons went #1, followed by Ingram. My pick roles around and I have a number of trade offers. 76ers offered me Ingram and the #6 pick, for my #3 and my 2nd rounder. It made no sense. So of course I jumped on it (I really wanted Ingram anyways). #6 rolls around and I end up being offered Hield and a late 1st round for my pick (Hield was taken #5), but they actually made a realistic trade (they wanted my 2017 and 2019 1st's). I figured what the heck, test franchise anyways, and accepted. My final pick comes up and I took Papagiannis. The only player of note that I remember from the expansion draft was KG. Durant ended up signing with Boston (and playing PF with Simmons at the 3), LeBron went back to Miami, and DWade went to NY.

I signed Lin and Biyombo and a few solid bench players. Starting lineup ended up being 1/Lin - 2/Hield - 3/Ingram - 4/Garnett - 5/Biyombo. We ended up getting 42 wins and slipping into the Playoffs as the 7th seed.

I retooled after a round 1 ousting by signing Derrick Rose (and using Lin as trade bait for something I don't remember) and Serge Ibaka (to replace a retired KG). The starting lineup stayed the same otherwise. This season saw some improvement, 48 wins and the 5th seed. We made it to the second round, but lost once again.

Biyombo left in free agency, but I was able to steal DeAndre Jordan from the Clippers (who ended up signing Steph Curry and pushed CP3 to 6th man). The slight lineup change added 3 wins and the 4th seed. Kings had #1 seed, but got swept by the Blazers. My Surf went 4-1 first round, 4-2 second round, 4-3 WCF (after being down 2-3), and into the finals against the Celtics. Down 2 games to 3, I decided to play a game (I summed everything prior to this). Ingram and Durant both had knee injuries and were marked day to day. Their starting lineup was 1/Thomas (85) - 2/Bradley (82) - 3/Simmons (83) - 4/Durant (93) - 5/F. Andrews (85/second year player, 2nd overall pick). I won game 6 to tie it up, mostly to Durant going out in the 3rd quarter with a high ankle sprain. Up to that point, he had been tearing me up and I was down by ~5. I go to simcast game 7 and see that Durant is out for it. We have a chance! Simmons steps up with a near triple double, but my Surf hold out and win game 7 and their first NBA championship.

So naturally, after winning the championship with some aged players, I felt the need to retool (before deleting and starting fresh with my real chise) with a younger cast. I was able to do a 3 team trade with LAL and Phily, sending Rose/Crabbe to LA, and the Ibaka/Jordan combo to Phily. Phily sent me Okafor, and sent Embiid to LA. LA sent me Russell/Randle. I sent a few draft picks as well.

                    My new starting 5 is
                    PG - D'Angelo Russell (86) 24 yo
                    SG - Buddy Hield (79) 27 yo
                    SF - Brandon Ingram (90) 22 yo
                    PF - Julius Randle (79) 25 yo
                    C - Jahlil Okafor (84) 24 yo

It's a very expensive team now that I'm midway thru the season and extended Ingram/Hield/Papagiannis. Russell has 3 yeas remaining at $81m, Okafor is at 3 remaining and $67m, Hield is 4 and $70m, Ingram is 4 and $80m, Papagiannis is 4 and $36m. Randle is in his final year at $16.5m, so I'll probably be moving Okafor to the 4 spot and put Papagiannis in as starter if I continue into season 5 (he's currently a 78). It's a fun team to play with, but I'm going to have a pretty bad bench. I've got 1 rookie who is currently my 6th man who potentially can stay for a while (I'll most likely move him to starting 2 and try and trade Hield), and my backup PF will have bird rights soon. Otherwise it will be all league minimum contracts from here on out.

Was the very high training for the whole team or just the guy who requested it? If it was for the whole team, that is a major cause for your injuries. Having strenuous workouts really increases the chances of injury in games (or during workouts).

They are way OP. Each time I start a new myGM, I delete my user profile so myGM rank starts back at 1 and I loose all the badges. Then, as I rank up, I avoid the really OP GM badges and mainly stick to choosing the various pitches and morale boosts as rewards. Got the idea from the OS guy doing the myGM YouTube series, it is brilliant and really helps immersion.

It was for the whole team. There was no day of training though, there was another game instead. But sure enough that is the case, I seen another player was hurt as I simmed past a training day. Luckily I quickly excited the app, went back into the save & changed the intensity. No injury happened. Kinda bummed I lost my best player already for 6-8 weeks though. Definitely learned my lesson.

I see, I usually press the square button in that menu to unequip all badges. They seemed OP to me, dating all the way back to when they were first introduced. I do see myself using the pitches like preventing a player from retiring, along the lines of that. Morale boost ok? I'm kind of against it but then again some players morale drop way too low off one bad meeting.

Deleting your user profile doesn't hurt other areas like MyCareer, MyTeam, etc?

Got a question regarding draft classes...I downloaded a real draft class where e.g. Fultz is a 78 ovr. However after some scouting rounds he is a 80 ovr and 100% scouted. I have stories turned off, is this just to simulate that lets say Draft Express (ingame) projects him to be a 80 ovr but once the draft is done he will have his true ovr again or whats the reason for this?

Well, it may also be your scout's rating. The lower it is, the less accurate (i.e. he could still be an 80, but your scout is inaccurate).

Thanks, thought it would be something like this. So the game tries to simulate some kind of inaccuracy for the scouting process.
