    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I posted this in the wrong thread so I'm posting this here

I'm having the hardest time trying to sign Steph Curry to the hornets and I have seen him go to some random places as well (mavs and sixers) it's frustrating.

        Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Decided to take on the team that's provided the ultimate challenge the last few years in 2K: The Brooklyn Nets! Didn't take me more than one season to make them relevant again.

The first season was all about getting rid of the bigger contracts and making sure I was left with expiring contracts. Most notably Brook Lopez and a couple of picks was skipped away to the Spurs for Dwayne Dedmon and Jeremy Lin was traded to the Rockets for Patrick Beverley. Now I had room for some decent pickups in free agency, plus I managed to keep all the future draft picks which holds decent value due to Brooklyns poor state. I then got a hold off the Magic's 17' 1st round draft pick by basically giving up the future with ALL my remaining picks (LOL @ history repeating itself in Brooklyn). I'm playing with updated rosters from after the deadline, so Serge is gone from the Magic, that pick is going to be top 3 no doubt! Now the rebuild could begin...

Even after breaking up an already horrible roster, we actually had a good season finishing 11th in the east. Pretty impressive feat with this lineup:

        Beverley/Whitehead/Dinwiddie
        Kilpatrick/Foye
        Covington/Hollis-Jefferson
        Booker/Scola/Acy
        Whitey/Dedmon/Splitter

Whitehead impressed me so much that I eventually decided to trade Beverley for a bag of peanuts, and move Whitehead in as a starter. He is seriously a hidden gem! Good ball handler and playmaker, can get to the rim and plays defence. He averaged 10, 2 and 5 for the season, but would probably have averaged around 7-8 assists if he had started the whole season. Made All-Rookie 1st team! Can't wait to see if I can develop him to maybe an 82-85 overall. This actually created a luxury problem for me; the Magic pick was most likely going to be top three, and if I wanted a franchise player from that pick, I couldn't pick anything but a point guard as this draft is DEEEEP on that position (Fultz, Ball, Fox etc.). Whitehead is young and homegrown though, so on draft day I decided to test what I could get in regards to trades. My top priority was Devin Booker, especially since I knew his potential was a 92 (custom roster). However, his contract was expiring, so trade not allowed..... I decided to trade the pick, Tiago Splitter and the abundance of 2nd- and late first round picks I got for Beverley with Jimmy Butler. Now I had my franchise player to form a backcourt with Isaiah Whitehead.

Looking back, the headline for my first season is basically that I traded the entire long term future of the Nets (apart from Whitehead) for Jimmy Butler, but what the heck, it's the Nets, that's what they do, and at least we have a longer relevance-span now than what they did in the short D-Will, Terry, Pierce, Garnett era.

We managed to build a decent team around Butler and Whitehead in free-agency. Re-signed Dedmon to start at center, picked up the options on Covington and Hollis-Jefferson and then sign a bunch of free agents as role-players. This is the lineup we're going with for the second season:

        Isaiah Whitehead
        Jimmy Butler
Robert Covington (I'm developing his three point shot...)
        Trevor Booker
        Dwayne Dedmon

Shelvin Mack (Very solid backup, definitely a hidden gem)
        Jonathon Simmons
Hollis-Jefferson (This dude can lock fools down! Even hits the open, spot-up J)
Quincy Acy (Versatile forward, provides a bit of MUCH needed floor-stretching)
        Tyler Zeller

The front court is obviously our biggest problem. Booker's deal will expire after this season, and all though he's a decent post scorer, I am not going to re-sign with him. Instead I'm going to pick up a 4 who can stretch the floor just a little, and who can defend inside-outside. We have the cap space to get pretty much anybody we want, but I'm going to be realistic about it. I'm thinking a guy like Taj Gibson, all though he's probably too old by now. We'll see.

The New Look Nets Version 2 just debuted against the Piston, Jimmy had 45 points (12/12 from the line) and Whitehead had 16 pts and 8 assists. We blew them out 116-98 in the Barclays Center. Jacque Vaughn has been promoted to head coach and Monty Williams has been brought in as his assistant. There's finally some reason for excitement around the Nets!

In my 1st offseason Im experiencing a lot of high profile players left in free agency. Almost every team has negative cap room resulting in a lot of minimum contracts. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Ive ser my my league settings to what seems to be the consensus settings...I think the hard cap value is 150.

            Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I've been taking full advantage of having the flue and have just finished grinding out the second season of my Nets MyGM.

Jimmy Butler carried us to the 4th seed in the east averaging 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. As mentioned in the earlier post, I was expecting big things from Isaiah Whitehead, and he did do a decent job, but nothing too spectacular. He finished the season averaging 14 points, 6 assists and 1,4 turnovers. I eventually traded Trevor Booker and a few picks for Thaddeus Young. I need some floor stretching at the power forward position, and Thad provides that along with just being a swiss army knife in the front court. Him and Isaiah connected on a bunch of alley-oops throughout the season, so that's good.

In the playoffs we beat the Raptors in 5 games in round 1, even with Butler only averaging 19 points... We then had Cleveland in the conference semis, and we actually put up a fight. We forced a game 7 after being behind 3-1, but Lebron and co. finished the job and went on to win their third straight title.

My biggest goal in the off-season was to get a quality center. Dedmon is not championship calibre starter, and his contract is expiring. Thad Young accepted his player option, and we accepted the team options on Hollis-Jefferson and Isaiah Whitehead. There was a lot of great centers available in free agency: Embiid, DJ, Brook Lopez, Noel, Capela, Pau Gasol and Monroe. I needed a guy who could protect the rim, defend on switches and preferably be a low post-scorer, as we're short on 15-plus-points-a-game-scorers. I decided to offer the job to Embiid. However, in case he'd reject us, I offered to Nerlens a contract too, but I'd prefer Embiid as he can actually go to work down low, and be more than just a shot blocker and a roll-option. DJ wanted 130 millions for 4 years, that was never going to happen!

Both Nerlens and Joel agreed on the first day of free agency, so I rejected Nerlens and signed Embiid for four years and 96 millions. After going to the conference semis, and taking the now three time champions - Cleveland Cavaliers - to seven games, we had now signed a bonafide superstar at the center position to pair up with Jimmy Butler. If we're not too unlucky with injuries, this should definitely make us championship contenders. Cleveland, we're coming for ya!

Yea Im not sure. I just turned hard cap off and Im still getting the same results. Like 3 or 4 guys over 80 that no one can afford to sign. Then they end up signing for some cheap 1 year deal.

                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

We did it, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid has brought the NBA championship to Brooklyn in 2019!

The season started out slow. Isaiah Whitehead was injured early on, and while Shelvin Mack was a decent replacement as starter, CJ Watson's old *** was not in any way capable of coming off the bench on a team that should be fighting for the 1st seed in the east. I waived his contract and brought in Norris Cole.

First 20 games played and we're 13-7. A little disappointed, but it's OK. Isaiah Whitehead eventually comes back and things starts to turn around. Embiid started off averaging only 14 points, but finished off strong and got up to 19 along with 12 rebounds, 2,5 blocks, shooting 55% from the field. Jimmy did his thing averaging 22, 7 and 5. Isaiah Whitehead didn't score much, probably due to Jimmy and Joel being our main scorers, but having Embiid to run pick n' rolls/pops with gave him a spike in assists. 11 points, 8,5 assists and 2 steals was his numbers. Really good numbers coming from a young player I would've probably let go, and never given any minutes, had it not been because I let go off of all the best players in season 1 to rebuild the team, and thus found out he actually had some potential as a starter.

We finished the season as the number 2 seed with 57 wins behind the Cavs' 64 wins. This is the rotation we played the second half of the season with (not much changed from the first half though):

                Whitehead
                Butler
                Hollis-Jefferson
                Young
                Embiid

                Covington
                Acy
                Shelvin Mack
                Tyler Zeller
                Jonathan Simmons

                McCullough
                McLemore
                Anthony Brown
                Sacre
                Norris Cole

Real solid depth, injuries would never be a problem. Our third unit would actually make a decent second unit in my opinion. We've had no complaints in regards to minutes, apart from Hollis-Jefferson, but I simply gave in and made him and Covington play 24 minutes each, with Covington coming off the bench, and he's not been complaining. The biggest problem on the team is three point shooting. Apart from Jefferson, nearly all our players can hit the three, but we lack a guy who's a specialist. That's why I tried to trade Hollis-Jefferson for Otto Porter, but I just couldn't make it work. Even tried throwing the 1st and 2nd round picks - that just became available - in with Hollis, but the Wizards wouldn't budge. In the end, it didn't matter anyway, we won the chip, and Hollis' defence would have been hard to replace anyways.

We swept the Celtics in round 1 with Butler averaging 31 points! Btw. Boston was starting Sean Kilpatrick at shooting guard. He averaged 23 points for us in the first season, so good to see he's made a career out of it. Cleveland lost their series against the Hawks in 7 games, which annoys the crap out of me. I really would have loved to go up against them in the conference finals...

Anyways, we have the Kncks in the conference semis where we go up 2-0, but Embiid gets injured in game 2. He's out 3-4 weeks. Tough blow. Pretty much the word that could have happened, but Tyler Zeller will start and McCullough - Sacre is too much of a liability due to his age - will come off the bench......... The Knicks win their two home games, but we finish strong and close the series in six games, even with Embiid out.

John Wall and the Washington Wizards was awaiting us in the conference finals, after they beat the Hawks in six games as well. In the west it finally happened for CP3, Blake and DJ, they we're in the conference finals against the Nuggets with a deep, versatile lineup of Mudiay, Harris, Jonathan Isaac, Faried, Jokic and Murray.
We get the job done without Embiid again, and beat the Wizards exactly how we beat the Knicks: win 2, lose 2 and finish by winning 2.

CP3 must be disappointed, because we're facing the Nuggets in the finals, after they just obliterated the Clippers by sweeping them. Looks like rebuild-time in Clipperland. We had home court advantage with 57 wins compared to their 56 wins. So two teams pretty much on equal footing going in. We win game 1 98-92 by Jimmy having 32 and Thad having 28. Isaiah comes up with 18 points and 12 assists to lead us to a 116-101 win in game 2. We're up by two and finally I get the news that puts my confidence to 100%: Joel's injury has healed, GTFO of my starting lineup Tyler Zeller! We lose game 3 108-102 though... Butler chokes with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, but Joel puts up 34 points and 15 rebounds.
Next game Joel fouls out in the 3rd with a horrible stat-line: 6 points and 2 rebounds...... WTF Joel? Butler, scores 26, but doesn't matter, we lose 107-86 with Jamal Murray putting up 45 points off the Nuggets' bench......
Embiid fouls out again in game 5. He played three quarters, did put up decent numbers though. Whitehead had 26 points, but we lose 126-98. We're behind 3-2 and this is not looking good.
We force a game 7 by blowing them out 121-84 though! Covington explodes with 28 points, hitting 5/8 from three, all from the corner I think. Whitehead had 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists, while Embiid and Butler both scored around 25. If we get 100 points shared between only 4 players in game? It's a wrap.
So it's in the Barclays Center, game 7, no injuries and coming off a blowout. Perfect setup, can't imagine how pumped New York would be, even when it's the Nets and not the Knicks.

Game 7 went down to the last shot! Going in to the fourth we were actually up by 20 or something. However, Embiid fouls out again... I start to panic a bit, take bad shots, and Zeller can't guard Jokic who ends up with 36 points. 25 seconds left Murray drains a three to make it 117-117. I run an iso with Butler handing the ball in the middle of the court. Seller sets the pick with about 10 seconds left. Butler dribbles outside of Zeller, but Faried catches him around midrange. Butler's a tank though, so I just hold square and pray he'll get fouled. He actually manages to muscle his way in and hit a reverse layup. Clutch as it gets! Muddily tries to hit a contested three afterwards, he clunks it and the Brooklyn Nets celebrates! Butler had 29 points and the finals MVP, and Isaiah had 22 and 11. I don't think a Brooklyn Nets rebuild can be much more succesful than this.

My second year of My League is going pretty good I decided to run with the hornets. I was able to steal Curry away to play for his hometown team but the warriors took a huge loss. Durant went to play for the clippers which was surprising but the warriors ended up signing Blake Griffin and now they have draymond green playing the 3.

Returning to the UnstoppaBulls: Bulls Blog #1: Introduction

Hello my name is Austin Jones.

I was recently called in to an interview to be the Chicago Bulls general manager. The call came as one that was rather perplexing. When Krause invited me into his office, before he even spoke I went into my briefcase and issued him a check of $600M. I told him my number one interest would be owning the team not, being an employee. I also informed him that another $600M would Krause sat back in his chair and pondered the thought then obliged. He then told me that he would hire me as Vice President of Basketball Operations until the league approves the deal.

My first order of business was to FIRE the duo of Gar Foreman, and John Paxson. And once I put pen to paper, I went and informed the two their services were no longer needed. I was now the boss hog in charge. From their I marched into practice and gave coach Fred Hoiberg, and his entire staff that they were fired. I have a few ideas for coaches to replace Hoiberg, but the key here is to get rid of all the faces Im sick of seeing in this organization.

Its time we change this organization for the better, and I dont mean by hiring our friends. Its Business NEVER Personal.

                    --------------------------------------------------------------

After firing Fred Hoiberg I weighed my options heavily and decided to offer Kevin McHale a contract to coach the team.

Also after thinking about my roster I have let everyone on the roster know that there is a possibilty of them being traded. Its now time to win #7

                        Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Ok so I am halfway thru my 3rd year of my Bulls my league I didn't play any first season games but played every game after that on 12min quarters HOF with custom Sim timing sliders
                        First Season re-cap
I traded away practically all veterans except for Butler turned it into the Nets 2018 first round pick..
In the 2017 draft I had the 3rd overall pick which belonged to my bulls because we sucked and the 11th overall pick I think was the Kings. I ended up drafting Lonzo Ball 3rd overall and somehow Josh Jackson fell to 11 Boom baby Boom I now had my future Star PG and Future Star SF to go along with Jimmy Butler....

                        2Nd Season recap
I had a starting lineup of
                        PG Lonzo Ball "Baby Magic"
                        SG Jimmy Butler
SF Josh Jackson " Lil Jimmy"
                        PF Nikola Mirotic
                        C Robin Lopez

After having the 3rd worst record in the league the year before I wasn't confident on what we would do with this retooling of young players to my surprise we dominated and went 64-18 with Lonzo Ball & Jimmy Butler getting all star nods. Lonzo Ball was named 3rd team All NBA and ROY and First team all rookie after averaging 15.6ppg 4.1rpg 12.9apg 2.5spg

Butler had career highs and was a all star and 2nd team all defense after averaging 24.1ppg 5.5rpg 5.2apg 2.6spg he would of been on an all NBA team if it wasn't for the abundance of Great PG play only SG on the 3 all NBA teams was James Harden

Josh Jackson was good but his poor free throw shooting ability really hurt his impact as he averaged 12.5ppg but shot .539 ft % needless to say if he could make his free throws he could of contributed much more

We strolled into the playoffs as the #1 seed and first round almost lost to the wizards as we ended up bearing them in game 7 barely I think we were just to confidence and didn't know how tough the playoffs would be after winning 64 games during the regular season.
Next we took the Celtic's out in 5 games
We then beat the Cavs in the Eastern Conference finals after 6 games

in the NBA Finals we met up against the Warriors we we were 1-1 against during the season series we ended up taking turns I would win than they would win all the way up to a final game 7 that game 7 was the most stressful game I have ever played in any video game ever it came down to 6secs left on the clock we were down by 1 and just enough time to run a quick inbound play we were on our side of the floor I didn't know what inbound play I called because somehow at the end of games 2k stops running inbound plays for u so I had to call it myself I had Ball Butler Jackson McDermott Mirotic out on the floor butler set a screen for McDermott at the 3pt line to run into the paint Josh Jackson saw McDermott running into the paint nervously threw him the ball knowing that wasn't McDermott area of expertise he bobbled the catch but came down with it with KD on his back McDermott threw the ball up from up under the rim and the ball hit the tip of the rim and rolled in Omfg I could of cried tears of joy but it was 1.6secs left and we all know what the warriors can do with that amount of time the warriors ended up running the same inbound play to KD but Josh Jackson was all over him and caused him to miss and like that the Bulls were NBA Champions wow what a perfect end to a season ...

                        2nd off-season
This was a big off-season seeing as we had the nets pick this year which was expected to be #1 overall after just winning the NBA championship
                        We end up drafting a 80 overall 7'0 243lbs C Deandre Ayton.

                        2018-2019 season
                        Our roster looks like this

                        PG Lonzo Ball 21 80ovr / Collin Sexton 21 (rookie) Free agent signing 77ovr / Jerian Grant 26 76ovr

SG Jimmy Butler 29 93ovr / Will Barton 28 78ovr Traded Denzel Valentine and 2 second rd picks for in 2017/ Andrew Jones 20 73ovr (rookie)

                        SF Josh Jackson 22 82ovr / Doug McDermott 27 79ovr / Kobe Paras 20 76ovr ( rookie)

                        PF Nikola Mirotic 28 79ovr / Bobby Portis 24 76ovr / Meyers Leonard 26 75ovr

                        C Deandre Ayton 20 82ovr (rookie) / Cristiano Felicio 26 77ovr/ Felipe Dos Anjos 20 75ovr (rookie)

I only had one draft pick this year and that was spent on Ayton all the other rookies on my team were 2nd round picks that were cut besides Felipe Dos Anjos he went undrafted I signed all of them to 4yr contracts because I believe in their potential and age I will need cheap young options in the future when I have to re-sign Butler after this year and the rest Fl my core 4 players.. Also the reasons all their overalls are so high is because we are currently 40-10 and everyone has a plus 2 arrow next to their names because of chemistry and morale effects so their true overalls is minus 2 of the numbers next to them. Idk why every team seems to be cutting their young cheap 2nd round picks on 2k..2k should patch and fix that.

                        Present Day
It is February 12th 2019 we are 40-10 and on a 4 game winning streak we look to be cruising to another playoff berth as we are first in the east and 8 games above the 32-18 Cavs the addition of Deandre Ayton has possibly made us a dynasty for many years to come.
with Lonzo ball we have a better shooting version of Magic Johnson he is Averaging 14.3ppg 3.3rpg 12.5apg(leads NBA) 2.3spg(8th in NBA) shooting .456fg% .429 3pt% .836ft% and has just been named to his 2nd consecutive All Star team although many believe Kyrie Irving was snubbed for him

Jimmy Butler is once again proving he is the alpha male on this team and one of the top 3 SG in the league he was just named a starter to his 5th consecutive all star game he is averaging 23.7ppg(11th in NBA) 4.6rpg 6.1apg 2.7spg(5th in NBA) shooting .539fg% .331 3pt% .897ft%

Josh Jackson is improving vastly but still lacking the ability to consistently shoot free throws which will forever keep him from reaching his true all star potential but he is averaging 13.5ppg 4.9rpg 2.3apg 1.6spg while shooting .517fg% .405 3pt% but a woeful .589ft% if he could make his free throws he could easily be a 20 PPG scorer Lil Jimmy butler still has some growing to do but the sky is the limit for him

Nikola Mirotic is as expected a nice stretch 4 which if u notice is all I have on my roster I prefer 3pt shooting PF that can stretch the floor he is averaging a serviceable 13.3ppg 8.7rpg 1.1apg 1.4spg 1.2bpg while shooting .628fg% and a mediocre .369 3pt% but he also has struggled this year with free throws after hitting 80% last year this year he is down to .693ft% once he improves he can be a much better contributor

Now our #1 overall pick Deandre Ayton and MVP frontrunner Rookie of the Year Frontrunner Defensive Player of the Year Frontrunner and first time all star has exceeded every expectation imaginable he is statistically having the best rookie year ever and one of the greatest big man performances ever statistically he is amazing and may possibly go down one day as the GOAT of big men he is averaging as a rookie 27.7ppg (2nd in the NBA) 15.2rpg (leads NBA) 2.4apg 2.0spg (13th in NBA) 2.2Bpg (5th in NBA) while shooting .669fg% (2nd in NBA) .309 3pt% .752ft% simply put this kid is amazing putting up video game numbers every night and is an unstoppable force in the paint how he was not named a all star starter Idk guess its cuz he is a rookie
the East All Star Starters are Jimmy Butler Demar Derozan Paul George LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo crazy right no PG or C ..Kyrie Irving is 8th in the league in scoring at 24.7ppg didn't make the all star team tho Lonzo Ball John Wall Kyle Lorry were all picked over him even tho none of them average over 20ppg but they all average over 8apg while Kyrie only averages 6.6. Still a real bad snub by 2k tho but I will take my Bulls having 3 all stars

So right now im 5 games before all star weekend and excited..

                        Around the league update
The 76ers are GOOD a starting lineup of Dennis Smith Jr Malik Monk Ben Simmons, 2018 4th overall pick PF Michael Porter 80ovr and Joel Embid not to mention a bench filled with 78ovr Dario Saric and Ricky Rubio have led the 76ers to a 29-24 record good enough for the 5th spot in the east and 3games ahead of the 6th spot

Eric Bledsoe was traded to the rockets in the final year of his deal this year
Spurs have Brandon Knight and 2nd overall pick SG Josh langford 80ovr after Paul Gasol retired
OKC added Carmelo Anthony in FA
Portland Trailblazers were NBA Champions in 2016
Pelicans have Jrue Holiday Markelle Fultz to go along with Cousins and Davis
Jahil Okafor is on his way to becoming a 20 & 10 player with Dirk and the 3rd overall pick in 2018 PG Seventh Woods 78ovr
                        The Lakers have Nerlens Noel
Greg Odeon was signed by the wizards
and that's about it for big news around the association

I made some of the big trades that happened irl at the trade deadline others I didn't because I like Okafor in Dallas and Noel better in LA
Also D-Wade is on the Cavs
                        And the Warriors are 43-11

But that's what's going on in my league will update u all after all star weekend 2019

Returning to the UnstoppaBulls: Bulls Blog #2: Rough Start

Well the season has begun, and the basketball is being played around the world. Except here in Chicago. We had the pleasure of our season opener being a home game, against the vastly improved and talented Boston Celtics led by point guard Isaiah Thomas.

Thomas, didn't show up big though in this game as he was missing shots left and right. It could be attributed to the defense of Rondo. Chicago played a great defensive game in this one, but Avery Bradley would prove to be too much for the Bulls as he led the Celtics with 18 points. Jimmy Butler was the work horse for Chicago scoring 22.

After the game I was asked into my first official press conference where the media was asking me questions about the expectations I have for the team. Well that simple Win... I want to build a dynasty one that will rival the likes of the Spurs, Lakers, Bulls, and Celtics. I want this version of the Bulls team to be viewed as the next great organization built on integrity, passion, and determination. I want winners that will win by any means necessary.

The media ate it up, and enjoyed the banter I shared with them. In the press conference I also announced a trade with the New York Knicks. As we traded Joffrey Lauverne, and Christiano Felicio for Willy Hernangomez and Marshall Plumlee. Hernangomez will be one of those blue collar, hustle guys for the team. I like the intensity that he plays with and the way he cleans the glass. His presence in the paint could be a commodity to the organization as we build toward our future.

Our second game was an total embarrassment as we lost at home to the Pacers to the tune of 154-114. Paul George scored 28. We looked lost defensively making horrible reads in rotations and just playing sloppy and bad basketball. Jimmy Butler was our lone bright spot scoring 30 points on the evening.

As I analyze my team with every game I see that three-point shooting will be a achilles heel to our team moving along. Roster plans are rather uncertain as of now but it is to be believed this team will be making major moves as the season progresses.

So I'm wanting to do a full league control MyLeague. How do others do their in season trades amongst the other teams? I'm going to play as an expansion team, but still control everyone else for the immersion and realism. Any suggestions?

I've tried doing it a couple of times, but the off-seasons always **** it up for me. It's so hard keeping track of all the teams moves in free agency. For example, Philly kept offering Steph a contract, and I kept declining it when he accepted, but in the end he was signed anyway. I'd like to know if there's a way to have the CPU offer contracts, but for me to block it if I think it's unrealistic...

That's some crazy stats from rookie Ayton! Is that Embracethepace's draft class you're using? How many mpg did you play him?
