    Just thought I might share this, there is only four body types this year. Four.... compared to the eight they had last year. I really don't why this decision was made....

    The "scanned bodies" was supposed to be such a big deal... not only was that not even a thing, but they took away half the body types in one year.

    Please stop lying to us 2K sports.

          Just got stuck on this screen after a MyLeague game. When this happens, you're basically screwed. I guess something goes haywire w/ the server or internet & it forces you to quit. Game just played is lost.

          This happened sometimes in 2K16 also, really wish there was some type of failsafe in place to prevent it. Seems like there could be, cuz after it forces you to quit you can momentarily see the calendar in the background & it shows the game result. But then it kicks you back to the main menu out of ML & the result is gone. Guess I will be playing w/o being connected to the internet from now on.

            my impression of this game is terrible. the graphics took a downgrade and so did the rest of the game. 2k17 plays like live from the dribble moves, speed, and even the graphics and player body types. each year 2k fixes things that don't need to be fixed like the whole timeout, and substitution menu. especially the in game coaching and settings on the fly. instead of the usual 2 buttons to press to set defenses or do substitutions, theres now about 4 buttons to press to accomplish simple in game functions. how does that improve the game? its more complicated instead of simple. and now even the gameplay is subpar.


            what happened to the simulation feature on hall of fame. the whole game plays on default and even league games and quick matches feel like the park and pro-am.


            wayyyyyy to many and 1s
            and waaaay too many deep 3s falling with all type of defense in their face.




            and the pick and roll features seem to be a glitch. when getting picked the player getting picked will get drug all the way into the paint. like really whats good with the game this year? very poorly put together. all focus is on the park and proam. there are some of us that like the realistic game modes still like quick matches and playing in leagues

              in hall of fame mycareer your shots will not go in even if your release is near perfect. it wasn't like this last year whys it gotta be like this now?

But when I do make shots in the game, its well worth it. Its worth because its not repetitive for me. And that's what I see when I watch real NBA games.


                Only true 3 point shooters make their shots in my game due to my sliders. Real three point shooters like JR smith and steph curry. Everyone else miss every three pointer they put up. I don't know why 2k focused on so many three point attempts this year....


                I don't play no other modes like my player or stuff. I'm old school....I hated all those modes when it was first introduced, and I hate them now. I know a patch is going to eventually change something like it always has in the past. I will never forget 2008 2k. They gave us the DEATH patch from hell....I will never forget it


                So yeah. I just started playing the game finally. I have to probly step away from the game for a week and come back to it to enjoy the presentation.


                Its OK now. I found a way to play. And that's all that matters for now. I will be back
                Jr smith is considered a real 3pt shooter? Wow

                Maybe a streaker shooter but not exactly an accurate one. I've seen too many games of him going 2 for 10 to from 3 to call him a real shooter.

                  I don't know what happened to all those riding animations and other collision interaction animations put into this game but this feels every bit as clunky with collisions and movement as 2K16 did, maybe even worse.
                  To follow up, I know others have talked about it, but here's an example of some pretty weird off screen collision issues. I don't show it in the video but the SG magnetized to the pick setter here is an 89 OVR player in MyLeague, with defensive ratings about as high as offensive ones, and athleticism to match:

                      I knw a lot of ya'll play offline but my impression concerns mostly online.
                      First I want to say that I think the game is good, but there are a few things that are irritating.
                      1st: Dribble moves with the analog seem more difficult to execute this year, especially the half spin.
                      2nd: Bumps leading to the ballhandler picking up his dribble, traveling or missing a pass to an opeh teammate occur 2 often.
                      3rd: The inability to back out of a match if you run across some1 using thd same team
                      4: Last but not least the floaty passing. Although it was patched, the ball still moves slow in some situations (baseline) that allow defenders to catch up to the ball.
                      I felt 16 did so much better with number 4. Dnt knw y it's an issue n 17.
                      I'm the bight side I LOVE the new shot meter. The defense is eons better, especially shot blocking, and I love the new layup additions.

                        Very disappointed to learn that I have to play a game mode I don't like to upgrade MY PLAYER for MY CAREER. I don't like My Park, I don't appreciate 2K forcing us to play to make the player we want.

                          Made an account just to post.

                          Been playing a lot of scrim trying to practice sets, freelance, iso moves etc.. Some things that i've noticed.

                          - Plays take too long to initiate, in an actual game my players dont even start running some of the motion cuts until like 14 secs left on the shot clock and very rarely am i able to even get to the furthest branch in my free lance before shot clock expiring and its not like im taking my time down the court, i usually bring the ball up left or right side sprinting and still theres a good delay before players get to screening and running their routes etc. The plays do run well though when i actually manage to get one off in time.

                          - I saw it mentioned before but I will reiterate, the CPU has a wonky double team mechanic where they will send a player from the other side of the court to come try and double team you leaving a good player wide open. Yes i know double teams are supposed to be like that but the way the mechanic is put into the game, the double teams are very predictable and not very smart. They don't just do it in situational times like to trap me in a corner or in the post, they will send a guy to double team Lillard way at the top on the 3 pt line leaving a player like McCoullum wide open for a shot or a layup, and its not just every once in a while, when i start to score with Lillard a few times, they start to do it pretty much every time Lillard touches the ball down the court.

                          - Help defense AI needs improvement, too many time i see wide open layups/dunks in the paint uncontested. I dont ever really see centers/PF's ever rotating when a player gets past a guard unless the center/PF happens to be in the paint when the player gets there.

                          - CPU seems to have an advantage on fast break opportunities, it always seems like their big man beats mine down the court for a quick dunk or layup, and CPU seems to be a little faster. Even sometimes I can get some cheap dunks back when i look down the floor and see my big man in front of the whole other team (this is off made shots a lot of times too). Ive found i can somewhat counter it by switching to my big immediately after a miss or make and sprint him down the court to get in position but it doesn't always work.

                          -Players still all seem to sit around for a few seconds before reacting to loose balls which gets very irritating. I want to see players darting for the ball as soon as it comes loose.


                          On a side note: This one is more nit picky than anything but I would love to see some new animations for saving balls that are headed out of bounds. That whole diving for the ball and somehow flipping it backwards almost never works and it looks awkward a lot of times, they should have some new animations like guys sprinting out to throw it back in over their heads or around their sides, not just always diving head first out of bounds to somehow save the ball lol.

                          Overall the game looks and feels smooth in some areas, I have hope for it, I want it to be good because i really like a lot of the things too, like the ISO dribbles, also it seems like this year they're really trying to get away from icon passing which is nice because it makes running PnR and freelance offense really fun.

                            Watching the Knicks/Rockets game on tv and they definitely DID NOT change their jerseys for this season. 2K just has them too dark. Hope they get it corrected.

                              Funny thing is I went back and played some "prelude" and I had more fun/control playing with game developers then I do with actual NBA players....what happened between the two games??
