Meh, it's nice, but not worth buying a Pro for.

But if you can get your hands on a pro and your tv has HDR it's a beautiful thing. There are a couple bugs that idk why they would even pop up like missing icons and interviews zoomed in too far

You're right it's really not. It does looks nice, but not anywhere near nice enough to go out and buy an entirely new system for. Especially if you don't own a 4K hdr set

I own 2 4k hdr sets, and I'm still questioning my purchase lol. I was wondering about the icon passing icons missing. And the interviews, I got a WAY too close of a look at Kevin Loves beard, haha.

Wow i haven't played 2k since the last tuner update but i did play a few games after the 1.05 patch dropped and i enjoyed it but from what i am reading here it seems that that tuner update made the game worse? How can that happen, i am really mad, it was really good, and i thought to myself, wow, i am enjoying this, let's just hope they dont't screw it up too soon, and they screw it like what, one day later, this is the weirdest 2k i have ever played, so many changes, updates, i really enjoyed it for the first couple of weeks and now i don't. That's absurd, patches should make the game better, not worse, smh. I really love basketball, i follow it, play it IRL, and i won't to play a game of it, but you guys've made it really hard.

              Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

Yes the tuning update made it worse and less enjoyable for me too.

I also think the shooting is broken/bugged. This is mainly for MyCareer but probably applies to all modes. I have a pretty good release on my jumper yet I hardly get any greens. Instead the bar fills up fully (really 100% white) and I brick the shot. I did count those shots over the last 5 games I played and only ~20% of those "bar full, not green" shots go in. (this was all open shots, not contested, I left those out) This doesn't seem right since you have to admit this is as close to a perfect shot as it gets. Only the game decides that this shot, for some reason, isn't a green one and doesn't go in. Yet I have worse releases that go in with a higher consistency.

Tinfoil hat on: My personal opinion in this case is that 2K is rolling a dice when it comes to perfect releases. If you lose, you get the full white bar and most likely brick, if not it's green.

Hitting jumpers is highly inconsistent for me this year. It's almost as if I have "real shot %" instead of release timing enabled.
What is your experience when it comes to jump shot releases?

I think green releases should be removed. I myself don't really like the feel i get when i hit the green release, there should be no guaranteed make IMO, when you are like 100% sure it's going in. Great release should be the highest level of accuracy you could get but i doubt they'll do that, justi magine the reaction of casual spamming twitter sharpshooter fans.

The "perfect release thing" in general is flawed. It would mean that you did hit the timing perfectly but I don't think you can get green releases with a defender in your face for example. It's the illusion of control but instead there are still different (random) factors involved.

I would still like an explanation from 2K why those "full bar, not green" are bricks for the most part. I always know if I get the full bar but no green it won't go in for like 80% of the time.

It feels like after the most recent patch, the game has slowed down almost similar to 2k16. No doubt that was great gameplay but I liked how different 2k17 felt..not anymore unfortunately.

If you were enjoying the game post patch I dont think the tuner will effect that tbh...

The patch isnt quite what I thought it would be but I know personally, I hadnt played for weeks before the patch, and I at least play once every couple of days now- so its been an improvement for me. I say check it out for yourself.

Will do, what did that tuner update even change, what was its purpose?

Hmm... in my experience right after the last patch (1.05 I think) the game was pretty good in terms of movement. Not perfect but way better than before. And then the in-game update hit and it went downhill. I might be wrong but it felt that way. Now it feels more like everyone has magnets attached and pulls me over. It's like I'm playing Pinball with my player as the ball....

Hi all...I have a problem with 2k17 on my xbox one..I cannot see the shot meter anymore...the bar below the icon has disappeared...even if shot meter option is enabled.I think this has happened after last patch. It happens in any mode and i try almost everything but no solution. So i'm going to reinstall the game.Has someone the same problem?Without the shot meter is way to difficult to play...even if I have a good release and I know almost any player i make too much mistakes..

I just went ahead and deleted the game from my ps4. Just to give some perspective, I've owned and played every single 2k since the original. I played most of them right up until the new one would come out.

The biggest issue for me is the lack of control. I constantly feel like I am "fighting" the game to do what I want it to do. I had 3 possessions in a row where my player would step out of bounds when I was holding the controls in the opposite direction. It's just not responsive at all and it's killed my enjoyment. Twice in the first quarter when I was playing last night I had fast break opportunities with Giannis. I'd hold down turbo in open space and he would "stutter" going up the court, killing the fastbreak.

I am a musician. Playing this game is like trying to record a track with a lot of latency. I just can't do it. Basketball is a game of quick movements and decisions. 2k does not represent this.

Overall, the game looks nice. MyLeague options are great. There are many things I like about 2k17, but at it's core, with the fundamental flaws along with legacy issues and terrible responsiveness, it was enough for me to be done. I just wasn't having fun playing at all. It's a sad day for me because I love basketball.

Don't give up just yet. I had similar problems till I cranked up the game speed. Made movement more fluid. Doesn't kill all the unresponsiveness but it helps tremendously. If you still feel stuck in the mud, raise user lateral quickness +5.
