I kind of gave up on 2K17 as well. I gave up on 2K16 last year in November and went back to NBA 2K15 and updated all rosters there. I plan to do the same, I have a very nice slider in 2K15 and I can't get the same taste here in 2K17 even though i tried many superstar sliders, there are things that are happening which gives a bad taste in my mouth - unrealistic things-.

By the way why the f*** did they change the shooting system ? It's literally about the same time you need to press and hold the shooting button for every player. It feels AUTOMATIC.

the exact same thing happened with westbrook i tossed my controller and called a to cause it was an online game. its bad enough guys that quick with the ball cant create separation on a damn fast break but that hip check isnt a foul? really guys like westbrook lose dribble after a hip check?

other than that shooting is overpowered this year. hope that gets fixed...i understand that late contests are punished but i feel guys who arent great shooters are shooting too well.
It happens to me too, not only it limits your fastbreak opportunities but also disregards the SPEED aspect totally.

Another annoying thing is when you get past your opponent literally, the CPU just glides and glues to you like moon-walking from 3 meters and stops you going to the rim. This teleporting or what the hell ever it is also killing the game.

As I'm late to the NBA party (not much of a follower anymore), I've held off on 2k17. After reading through this thread, sounds like a smart move. I'll stick with 2k16. Question is, there's a roster by Embrace that added rookies and FA moves for 2k16. How up to date are the ratings/transactions? Looking for the most recent to download.

I've been playing every 2K except 2K17 (currently playing 2k14 ps4). I think that says a lot about where 2k17 stands in my book.

Were flagrant fouls removed from the game? I don't think I've seen a single one yet and I've played a ton

You definitely saved yourself plenty of cash, since you have to spend double what the game price is; to even remotely be on the level. I like some of the play calling ideas..makes a little easier once you get used to it. But the rest of it..terrible. Defense AI looks like 6th grade rec ball. Basically, people just left/right til they break loose. It's boring and dumb.

                  Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

2k is hot garbage this year and it really amazes me how much I see people defending this poor excuse of a game... The CPU plays damn near flawless while the ai on my team are basically so inept that they make the damn Washington Generals look godlike... Missing wide open looks while the cpu basically chucks up garbage shots from half court is rage inducing... And playing the Warriors is the ultimate exercise in futility no matter who you play with... Add on top of that that 2k is basically bleeding us for money just to be able to compete in myTeam, the park and pro am... The absolutely pitiful servers that they still haven't managed to fix the game is literally wasting 50 gbs of the space on my xb1... And to be honest I would love it if nba live came through and kicked 2k's lazy asses but it's not even likely to happen so 2k will still not have much incentive to get their heads out of their asses...we're six patches and Lord knows how many tweaks we don't know about in and it's only been 2 months since the launch... So to those wavering on if you want to get this game save the 60 and actually get a good game because this game certainly isn't close to being good this year

                      Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

Yesterday i had some more free time and i used it mainly for playing 2k17 and i must say, i was not disappointed as it seems to me plenty of guys here are. I played a bit of my league, my team and pro am. The only mode that left me disappointed was pro am, but i will say something about it later in the post.

I started myleague with the Blazers, did a couple of changes and decided to play. Played 2 games, 11 minutes, 1 against the Jazz and 1 against the Clippers. Won the first one, lost the second one. But it felt really good, really enjoyed it, when Lillard got hot couple of times every game it was realllly fun, felt really realistic as i started knocking shot after shot, after the pick and roll, 1 on 1 etc. Played on superstar, default sliders. I lost the second one in the third quarter when Griffin, who was really quiet for the first 2 quarters, started to show up and they built a lead they never lost. Really challenging, felt good, not like i was being robbed or cheated in any way. Looking forward to play it in the future. The only thing that was missing in terms of stats and overall gameplay was CPU's lack of aggressiveness in terms of attacking the basket, in both games my FTA were significantly higher than CPU's. But other stats were really on point. From 3s, FGAs overall, blocks, steals etc.

MyTeam was fun for me, it wasn't as much of an enjoyement as myleague was but still it was fun playing with the team i built on my own. I never really loved playing with what is most OP or what everybody else uses because it fits the current "meta". So my team looks like this, from 1 to 5. Beverley, Mccollum, Batum, Millsap, Brook Lopez and i have Lou Williams, Nick Young and a couple of fillers, i intend to make my team better because it just won't be enough when i will be facing better players but for now i am winning quite easily even if i've have already been facing teams with Curry or some big stars like him.

And the last one, Pro Am, was just so annoying and boring that i couldn't make it till the end of the game, i left it. First of all, it's a 3 point fest, percentages are too high, every team has 2-3 Stephen Currys and Klay Thompsons. They are making high number of veery deep shots. People don't really play defense, i mean, some do, and i think that's the thing that makes difference. And last, people are so selfish, like, share the damn ball, pass it, but everbody is just looking to bomb it from 30 feet

Just gotta hope patch 1.08 is ridiculously gameplay heavy. Have a feeling it will be. The game was released unready and these patches are catchup. In the past, the 3rd patch is usually the gameplay heavy one. This time around, I feel the next one will focus mainly of gameplay, mainly for the simballers who play offline. (I hope).

Idk what the hell happened to this game. It is awesome overall it terms of realism but idk if a tuner was applied or something but the CPU is WAY overpowered in MyLeague right now. I've played 2K for years, I consider myself to be above average in terms of skill in both sticks and strategy and I am getting torched by mediocre teams left and right.

Teams like the Nets are going off for well over 50% FG percentage and executing flawlessly and making way too many shots. It wasn't like this earlier in my ML at all so idk what the hell is going on but it's practically unplayable right now. Will try to address it with sliders I guess

                            what level are u playing

I used to play SS but this year, I was blown away almost every game. Then I find playing AS is manageable and the CPU shoot and miss as well

So I've purchased this game on day one. Been playing off and on online and off for the past few months and Ive been really disappointed. 2K should get the same criticism that Madden gets but it doesn't for some reason.

The lack of control for me kills the game. The defensive AI, defensive bumping, the superb computer AI, the fact that i still to this day get sucked into animations. This game is filled with problems to me. Too many times I have the defender beat then magically he beats to me to my spot while bumping me. 2k still hasn't fixed the core problems with this game. Speed/acceleration mean nothing. I play with the Pistons a lot, why is KCP jogging on defensive around screens?!?! He is one of the best defensive wings in the league!

This sums it up for me. 7 patches in, and a lot of this hasnt been addressed at all. Not sure what Mike Wang and his team are up too, really. It has become beyond disappointing for me to be honest. I will hold out from starting MyLeague until they focus the next patch purely on gameplay and stop with this online cheese nonsense.
