Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
It pretty much comes down to having complete control of the whole league. You can customize and control every team in the NBA. This year, so I've heard, you can take control over any team in the off-season so they don't make stupid trades and signings. Then you can switch back to have the CPU control them again. Last year you were locked to whatever team(s) you took control over from the get go. Also, there aren't arbitrary goals from the owner because you are the owner. You can run the team however you want to. If you like realism, MyLeague is much better than MyGM.Comment

How can I change direction quicker with the ball? I play on superstar broadcast cam. Every time I catch a defender leaning I try to go the opposite way but the animation is just so slow that the defense has enough time to recover before I can get by them.Comment

You can also override a stupid rule change that gets approved in the offseason. I try to let it play out and whatever gets approved stays. But if 5 fouls gets approved or something I find to ruin the experience for me, I can override it.
Also, it eliminates all of them boring and mundane interactions with owners, coaches and players. That's stuff gets old quick.
It basically plays just like other franchise modes, just straight up.
Only thing I don't love is you can't get fired, which adds additional challenge to the mode. But, small price to pay for everything else that is so much better.Last edited by Vmascarello; 09-22-2016, 08:04 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
If you set;
On ball screens: Ice (example)
Off ball screens: Go Under (example)
Then Switch Rule: Switch all
What happens? Does the game over ride one over the other?
I'm sure I had off ball set to "switch" and then saw my AI defenders not comply.....
Need a real deep dive on the defensive stuff. It's too deep to just not have some sort of explanation as to how the game interprets things IMO.Comment

Yes, you can take control of a team to rebrand them or relocate them and then switch them back to CPU. Or, mitigate a stupid trade that was made. I have "trade approval" on, and it will notify me when a trade is made and if it makes no sense, I can veto it. If it's reasonable, you can let it go through.

I don't mind silly cpu trades, its not my team lol. I actually enjoy the mundance task of babysitting your players and staff. I haven't figured it out completely yet but it gives me something to do in between games besides look at stats and injury reports.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
