Re: **Official NBA 2k18 Wish List Thread**

One small thing that bugs me that I would like fixed in next year's 2K is more accurate player models. Players like Gordon Hayward, ABC, etc. seems way too skinny compared to their real life models.

      - Ability to scan faces/add tattoos for CAP's
      - Ability to scan courts/jerseys for created teams (if not than more court customization that allows for logos within the paint, multi-colored baselines like they have in March Madness this year, being able to put text anywhere on a court as long as it doesn't obstruct lines)
      - More interactive crowd that doesn't stay silent after alley-oop dunks during the playoffs, then proceeds to unanimously and redundantly chant defense (also implement boos for controversial calls)
      - Ability to create a coach for created teams, and the ability to scan their faces
      - More conservative approach from individual players that are in foul trouble
      - a badge or rating that factors in footwork, specifically in the post
      - Make players quicker in the post, or just add more dimensions to the post game in general
      - Alternate jerseys for expansion teams
      - More realistic generated draft prospects (No centers with <60 standing layup, more popular hairstyles/accessory choices should be seen more often in generated players, schools like Kentucky and Duke should have prospects more often)
      - Slider for overall movement based on in-game statistics, allowing for realistic growth modeled after players like Hassan Whiteside, and conversely for those that descend lie Deron Williams (Myleague/myGM)
      - more customization options for length of shorts, tightness/shape of jersey (like the new thinner jerseys used in college)
      - able to set the arc of a jump shot (line drive, normal, high-arcing)
      - be able to equip a player with a mouthpiece
      - more slots for teams in myleague
      - be able to download caps/players from one roster individually, and then save them for use in other rosters
      - more scoreboard options (i.e. TNT, NBATV)
      - occasional games in neutral locations (i.e. the game in London this year) - and a crowd that acts accordingly

God bless you for this post man! I agree with everything 100%

But Especially in terms of created players...which are not only the focal point of a lot of the main modes, but there's also an entire demographic that loves creating rosters/draft classes. They simply need to be represented better. Especially in game. It's a shame how generic they look in comparison to the actual NBA players. I feel like the whole entire CAP system needs to be overhauled. WWE 2k is light years ahead of this game, in that department. Giving us the ability to import faces from an actual photo would allow us to create realistic looking players (ex - missing legends, undrafted players, and incoming rookies) without 2k having to go through the hassle of signing them to contracts. Plus it'd save us a lot more time than trying to sculpt out faces from scratch with the limited creation tools, currently available. Also we need more hairstyles, skin tones, and body type variations.

          Defense. Defense. Defense.

The game is too offense-focused. For every defensive/off ball/loose ball animation, there are 10 more offensive animations.

Focus more on the knit and gritty of basketball this year. Make defense and loose ball situations a priority.

I don't know if they've tried this already, but a perfect solution for me would be to bring 10 basketball guys into the studio, put them in mo-cap suits, and have them run a few games. That way you can capture accurate animations in the midst of a real basketball game other than forced mo-cap scenarios.

I'm still just waiting to not be sucked into a box out 10 feet away despite me having a great angle to the hoop, momentum, and a clear path.

During free throws, if the user has free throw shooting type to "Real Player %" it would be cool if we got the same camera angles that show up when the CPU is shooting free throws. Users can this use this time to freely make team adjustments on the fly so that things will be ready by the time the first three throw is thrown.

Borrowing from Live, I like the ability to click R3 to decide when to watch replays
Replays or highlights shown during timeouts or at the end of the quarter
Ability to do a shoot around / layup line prior to games
Ability to choose different atmospheres for quick games which impacts the crowd, coaching, and how the refs call the game. In a game 7, star players are gonna play even if they're dead tired.

Tighter player control. Now I'm terrible at explaining things, so bare with me. Right now I feel like players don't really have weight to them. The best way I can explain is to compare NBA live 2016 to 2K17, as far as player movement goes. Live feels robotic at times but then again 2k can feel very loosey goosey. I wish there was a way to get it right in the middle. If you play the two games back to back, you may see what I'm speaking about.
There's also not enough organic physicality. Player to player interactions don't all have to be preset animations. If I go to the rim and dunk the ball while someone jumps and the bodies touch, there shouldn't be a mini force field that sort of pushes the CPU away. Fighting through screens or boxing out doesn't have to have a locked animation play out. I hate when I switch to my center and I lose the ability to contest a shot because I get locked in an animation where th center tries to box someone out. The jostling system in Fifa does this well and I would like to see it adopted.

Re: **Official NBA 2k18 Wish List Thread**

                My wishlist:

                1. Gameplay: The AI has progressively gotten worse in areas year-to-year on this current generation of consoles. We need better off - ball, transition, pick - and - roll and general defensive AI. General rules, principles and strategies need to be the focus of the defensive AI team.

The CPU playing "hot potato" with the ball until the shot clock runs down needs to be addressed. I understand this happens when the initial "freelance" or set play breaks down, but the CPU needs to be more improvisational or versatile in those instances.

Better overall control is a huge must have in 2K18. The input lag needs to go, we need the return of player - controlled gathers, up - and - under, hot steps, spin layups/dunks, post drive moves (baseline or middle), etc. It is shocking how many moves we no longer control or have become too convoluted to do

A "Draw Foul" tendency needs to be added. Clearly, in today's NBA some players look to draw fouls or "bait" the referees more than other players. This shouldn't be just a "rating" (which should effect how often someone is fouled during a game or good they are at drawing them), but a tendency as well (how often a player seeks to be fouled or looks to draw them). Can help with simulated statistics during MyLeague/MyGM as well.

Graphics/Animations: The biggest eye sore graphically is the poorly implemented or completely inaccurate body types. Please, pay or sign 10 - 15 amateur, minor league or overseas basketball players to scan as the template for NBA 2K18's body type(s).
Three body types for position at the least (with a few 'unique' types for LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, etc). The same body type for 75 - 85% of the NBA, anorexic high schooler and Incredible Hulk/Hulk Hogan - like broad shoulders need to go.

(PS: Make sure everyone has a neck as well......)

PG: Normal, Athletic, Wiry (think George Hill)
SG: Normal, Athletic, Lean (Jamal Crawford, Corey Brewer type body)
SF: Normal, Athletic, Wiry (Paul George, Giannis & Kevin Durant)
PF: Normal, Athletic, Chubby or Fat (Boris Diaw, Jared Sullinger)
C: Normal, Athletic, Powerful (Shaquille Type)

Super Skinny Body Type Exception: Brandon Ingram & Derrick Jones Jr.

I'll add more items at a later date......

Re: **Official NBA 2k18 Wish List Thread**

                  Gameplay:
-More control. Too many times on both ends of court. It feels like the cpu is controlling my moves. At least make more animations able to be broken out of.
                  - Make the good perimeter defenders more of a impact. Especially Lockdown Defenders. I want them to either shut down the offensive player or make it more difficult for offensive player.
-I want to see Pick Dodger and other similar badges not nerfed in my career. Few iterations ago, it was OP. But I want a similar impact. It makes a huge difference being out to get around picks. Where I maxed strength for PG and have Bronze Pick Dodger, but still struggle to get around picks.
-I would like to see a personality badge for the glue guys who are able to keep everyone on same page and play smarter. Similar to Floor General and Defensive Anchor. But this mainly improve awareness and have players play smarter when he is on the court.
-But I don't want to see Badges have a stronger impact than ratings. Where if I max Steal or Ball Control, I should be able to poke ball lose or ankle break defenders on a regular basis, without having to rely on those badges

                  Visual:
-Mainly just the ability to have more body types for CAPs. Where I create a 270-300lb PF/C, I don't want him looking skinny. They should have a bulky build, ripped build, non-ripped, stocky build.
                  - More hairstyles. With a lot of players having part of their hair dyed, it would be a good option to have.

                  My Career:
-Go away from the forced Storylines. No more Pres or Freq type of stories. The whole purpose of this mode is for players to have there own paths.
-Just have a lot of cut scenes and interaction between other players/staff.
-Bring back summer league, pre-draft interviews, combine.
-Expand the NCAA season. Unless someone plays only career, how many people get past season 3. Where either expand season to 10-20 games. Where start off as a 2nd round/Undrafted and improve your draft stock throughout the season. Where either do great and end up the #1 pick(78-80 OVR) or do poorly and end of undrafted(55-60 OVR).
-Start off as a higher Overall. Instead of 55 OVR, start off at 67-70. Just make the grind harder.
-Ability to choose your role. Even though the Archetypes for you to be one-dimensional, in past this game force you to be a superstar. It should be your own path. Like you can start off as a D-Leaguer with lower OVR, but with higher development. Or a 6th man role. Where start off at the end of the lineup and work your self up to the 6th man spot and a minute limit of 30. You would have a attribute cap where you will be mainly one dimensional(max of 80-83 OVR). Or be the 2nd option, where you're cap would be 90 OVR. Or the superstar with 99 limit and allows you to be all around. But, the grind will be the toughest.
-Go away from grouped ratings and have ability to increase all ratings. Archetype can stay, but mainly for to start off with. I don't like having not being able to boost certain ratings because of a cap limit. Like being a Lockdown defender PF and cant boost Shot close because it is in Shoot off dribble. I want to be able to create the type of player I want to. Just have a total cap limit. Like it is almost impossible to create a 2 way player since you will only be so-so on one aspect of the court. Also adding a 3 & D archetype.
-Bring back to the ability to influence Free Agency and trades on your teams. Like have the ability to choose which players your team goes after in FA. Also have the ability to tell which players your team to not bring back. What I would like to see is ability to court players during season using social media. So, instead of them coming to you. You can offer to talk to them and hang with them and build relationships in hopes for them wanting to join your team. Or even them trying to poach you ala Warriors last year with KD. Also trades as well. Where like before, GM comes to you asks for a list of players you would like to trade for.
-Would like to see final rosters of team before signing with them. Where we could see players who are drafted to team. I would be more willing to sign with a lower team if I see which player they drafted.
-Ability to sim games with lesser punishment. Some times I just want to play certain portions of season. I would be more willing to play longer careers.
-Show tendencies of your player. That way at least you know how the way your defended and how your sim stats would look like.
-Show more features like mock drafts.
-I missed the old feature where it allowed you to pick the plays that are ran for you. Like it gave you options from playbook and choose 5 plays to be ran for you.
-Also change the play call system. I'm tired of seeing the same 5-6 plays ran all game.
-Something I would to see is ability to change the offensive and defensive settings in the pause menu instead of in game, once you earn the ability. It always to take long to get the settings where you like them usually causing you to giving up easy plays. Also, have ability to change more settings. Like switching, help defense settings, double teaming, how you want to guard certain players. Instead of changing your defenders setting, you can set the defensive settings against certain players and your defenders automatically adjust to it.

This covered a lot of mine, since all I play is MyLeague, but the ones that need worked on the most to me are

1.) Providing us with body types, tattoos, and more hairstyles for CAPs.

2.) The player attribute movement based on stats. I love the slider idea mentioned above. For instance I just finished a season with the Kings and Malachi Richardson averaged 22 pts, 4 rebs, 5 ast over the course of the season as a 69 ovrl. The following season he moved up to a lofty 71 ovrl. I get that the progression is kind of based on the player's peak start and potential but it should definitely factor in guys having breakout seasons. I'm not saying he should have been like 85 ovrl but I mean improving to mid to upper 70s overall seems realistic. (And yes I know overall isn't the end-all, be-all, but it would be nice to see the progress reflected somewhere other than just his stats) Conversely maybe you use Steph and average 5 ppg... (just as an example). He probably wouldn't be a 95 after that season, still good like 90 or upper 80s based on his past but it should respond a little bit to the player's season. Basically, player potential and overall should be more fluid and possible to change especially based on a full season or seasons of play. More busts and gems would show up that way. But others may want progression to work more like it does currently so a slider would be perfect.

Another thing along those lines would be more control over player growth in the offseason. I don't mind the training camp system but it's so limited. First of all I only ever end up with 1 or 2, I should be able to train more than 2 players. Something like a more expansive version of that with x amount of points to spend on your team and you could spread them out over the whole team and it may not impact one guy too much but maybe everyone on the team improves a little. Or you can focus on a couple guys and they see big increases. Mix in just enough randomness (the amount of points they increase isn't fixed, might waste your points on someone who has already reached their full potential) and customization of what skill areas to focus on by player and it could be awesome. It could also produce unexpectedly good players and unexpected busts. If you don't work on a player they don't improve much and if you dedicate a lot to one person they might break out.

3.) Downloadable CAPs should be a thing. It can't be that hard, they had it in past gens, and I can download an entire team and all its assets, why not a player?

4.) A way to import new players into an existing MyLeague's free agent pool. Look at guys like Yogi Ferrell popping up in the official roster a couple months into the gam'es release. You don't have to make it mandatory but if players want to we should be able to get those guys into our existing MyLeagues and then do as we please with them (so we could sign them to their actual team... or leave them out in free agency and see what happens). This could also be done with CAPs, downloadable CAPs, etc.

5.) The D-League. The ability to sign guys from/send guys to the D-League during the season has been missing from this gen, it used be a thing. I want it back. It could be a huge help to player improvement/finding hidden gems in the league.

This year's MyLeague gave us a lot of important steps forward, like being able to change draft classes during a season, Expansion teams, more relocation options, etc. Let's keep it moving in the right direction because for a lot of us, this mode is what makes the game worth playing.

*In MyCareer ability to select both home/away team color 1 & team color 2 accessories with all uniforms home/away/alternate/throwback instead of just one color for each team. Makes matching teammates easy since it is a rule all players accessories must match in color.
*ability to wear any branded shoes we own as soon as we start MyCareer mode.
*Lakers home court crowd is lit up, in real life crowd is sitting in darkness with only court illuminated.

                        3. Have a comp park. Say you gotta have a 75% win percentage after a hundred games to get in this park. All wins are double rep. This would give rep more meaning because its not just about playing a lot of games but having quality wins to legend first.

We should not have preset archetypes. Your archetype should be based on your body characteristics.

Would be cool if my multiple MyPlayers could form a squad and play Pro-Am in the same way PNO works.

i think thats a cool idea.. if they can't go that far, i'd love the option to play with your mycareer team vs a friends' in an unranked match.. obviously tho would only be worth doing if you had a degree of say over what your team will end up looking like a-la LeBron

I pretty much only play the expansion mode and I LOVE it. However I do wish that there were more City options (Albuquerque, Mexico City) and the ability to re-organize number of divisions. I also expand the league to 36 teams and I'd like to just have 4 9 team divisions are essentially null anyway
