I'm post scorer PF and have a Dimer badge, but not a Post-Spin badge. It's almost imossible on HOF. And I don't play other difficulties because it's too easy and I need VC's and I will never pay for it. But in the end the whole game anyway seem to be unbalanced. You go to park and 80% of people are guards who just run by you or shooting threes from mid court with their crazy badges! Great job 2k!

Mikes post in the offline thread:
The main change was re-defining what the game considers open vs. covered vs. crowded. Sometimes when users think they play pretty good defense against a shooter, the game actually thinks he's wide open. So this tweak will basically knock down covered jump shot %'s across the board.
I also flattened out the RS Aiming bonuses and penalties. Perfect Aim was giving too big of a boost if you were good, and too big of a penalty if you didn't use the feature.
The Limitless Range Badge was nerfed a little bit. Still a useful badge but people were cheesing it more than we anticipated.
Offensive Awareness was reduced for CPU on the higher levels while Defensive Awareness was increased for User teammates.
Offensive Consistency was reduced for CPU to match the User on Superstar and HoF. Defensive Consistency was increased slightly for both CPU and User.
Last thing, OG made a change to fix the excessive perimeter double teaming.Comment

I sincerely hope this is the case. Maybe it's one of the reasons they delayed the release of Live 17 so they could see what people were annoyed of and tried to keep those things out!'Long time reader, first time poster'

Re: Chris Smoove's new video about double teaming and MyCareer issues
I started an offline 2k14 career after I was done with 16 and waiting for 17, and had an absolute blast because that game is fun to play. It looks dated, the graphics are jerky and it's a million miles away from being perfect, but the vc you can earn on HoF is good - 3-6k on a key game and you can upgrade your individual attributes.
I didn't play 15 after its cycle I have no interest in 16 at all, and I even played 14 yesterday. Less than 2 weeks into this game and I've gone back to a vastly inferior version in order to have fun.
I've started multiple careers in this game trying out a few builds and I can't find enthusiasm for any of them.
If ea could reverse engineer 2k14 then although I've never bought an ea basketball game, I would buy the **** out of that. Heck, I'd even pay to get 2k to turn their 14 servers back on.
I loved the fun and immersion of 2k games, but the way mycareer players are being continually diluted so that 2k can push rttf and online balance is really turning me off the game. I'll be sitting out 18 if this is the continued m.o.
I want to recreate kd, Jordan, Westbrook in my careers. This is like the makers of the tropico series only allowing you to be a middle manager in a government office.Comment

Re: Chris Smoove's new video about double teaming and MyCareer issues
I agree with Yesh, and my main man Smoove. I don't really care too much about the park/rttf and I'm pretty much here to live out virtual singleplayer nba superstar baller dreams. Not average roleplayer struggling to improve dreams. This game has gotten to be less fun year over year and it's quite clearly linked to a desire to balance the singleplayer for online play and a desire to earn more money by fishing for whales. It didn't work in Destiny(The Bungie Shooter) and it doesn't work here, you cannot balance a singleplayer game for multiplayer without making the singleplayer game patently unfun. The double-teaming is hilariously broken too, my post scorer was racking up double digit assists every single game because I got doubleteamed immediately and swiped at relentlessly so I couldn't do any of my post moves. I assumed it's a bug but maybe not? I actually got the dimer badge before I got any of my post scoring badges, that's how messed up it is. It's legitimately unplayable. I really hope 2K manages to fix both of these issues for this years game but if they don't they really need to go back to the drawing board to ensure singleplayer & casual multiplayer players aren't being hamstrung for online players. I want to be Jordan, Magic, Shaq, Kobe, Lebron not Kendrick Perkins. I'm having significantly less fun every year, I didn't even buy last years game and I bought this years one on a whim but I'm kind of regretting it now since the 2K no fun police is shutting it all down.Comment

Re: Chris Smoove's new video about double teaming and MyCareer issues
But that means the game wasn't tested well. It's not like you need to play five full seasons to see this. I'm only 2-3 games into my first season in My Career, and I'm already seeing the ridiculous double teams on every possession.
The even bigger issue to me is how overpowered the CPU double team is. You literally can't get away from it, and if you take more than 3 seconds to pass out of it, you get locked into the jump ball animation. It's awful, and has been that way for years.Comment

Re: Watch ;NBA 2K17 - eSports Ruins the Game? Double Team Cheese" o
It's certainly possible to put up ridiculous numbers, but that's more due to taking advantage of poor AI than your player actually being skilled. Attribute-wise, they are essentially glorified role players.Disagree - I just said above you can still be a legendary player regardless of these caps - I'm simply referring to him calling archetypes role players. Again if they were role players nobody would dominate. I welcome the 99 everything easy mode. I just disagree these limitations are as drastic as people make them seem. People are out here every year getting Goat numbers easily in their rookie year and somehow - we are role players. OK.

The question is why do these arbitrary numbers mean sooooooooo much to people, when they still ball out with the same player they are complaining is a role player?
People caught up with numbers on the screen when your eyes and stick skills make that "role player" put up HOF numbers, in all modes? Its childish IMO.Comment

I like that he pointed out that it feels like they never even played the game.
I really wish he would have pointed out all of the other stuff that's messed up, but I definitely agree with him that they should separate MyCareer's Offline from Online.
If grinding required me to play a bunch of park or pro-am games, I'd gladly do it over playing offline... I hate having to play the broken "story" mode of 82 regular season games to level up my dude for online play.Last edited by SirGaryColeman; 09-30-2016, 11:59 AM.Comment

It does on a certain level. The last 10 upgrades are acquired by getting to Superstar 5 in MyPark.Comment

Re: Chris Smoove's new video about double teaming and MyCareer issues
Yeah, I thought that was a weird change. I think that just made stuff worse for people that only wanna play offline, but wanna get all the upgrades.
I'd much rather it be separate leveling up. Offline should be "level up by performing the move X times" and Online should be "level up by earning XP after performing well in a game and use that to buy more attributes"Comment

it's been obvious from day 1.
