    Re: Tyler Ulis: Shot-Blocker

I actually like the crazy out of position blocks. It makes defense a lot more fun. Even when I'm playing against a friend (online or offline), blocking is simply something to laugh at, in a positive way. 2K17 is harder than 2K16 to get blocks, though. I used to get like 8 blocks a game, as a team on 2K16, whereas on 2K17 I'll get like 3 or 4.

I think blocking should be tied to vertical. The higher a players vertical, the higher up they can jump to block a shot. I love the crazy athletic blocks, but not from a guy like Tyler Ullis.

However, does anyone remember Shane Larkin's block last year (the one the Starters dubbed "Shane Larkin enters the Matrix"). Little guys can get crazy blocks. Yes, Shane Larkin has a 44 inch vertical, but he is still super short. So I think its fine to make it possible for smaller guys to get blocks, but more often they should foul. I think timing should be perfect, with lots of momentum going their way (like having a running start).

The only blocks I don't like are the ones where you are in some crazy reverse layup animation and the defender pretty much reaches through your body and blocks it, somehow not making contact and not fouling.

He's not blocking Dwight, sergio and him are equals on physics level. And this situation can't happen 6 out of 6 times neither can Dwight make 6 made 3pt shots so, i don't see it as a problem. I've had so many games and never seen smt like this. Something so rare can happen any given day.

Sorry, agree to disagree, that's just my 2 cents.

The forums are for debate.....I don't have an issue with you feeling differently than me.

      My issue is this: https://youtu.be/u9lwHqHud1c

      And ummm... that: https://youtu.be/-QNKVo17XPY

FYI: 27 is the lowest block rating in the game, so its essentially a zero. Ulis is the least likely player in 2K17 to get a block. I'm not saying he can't get blocks, I'm saying gameplay should skew the game way in favor of him NOT getting one. Im saying his ratings should mean he'll be much more successful trying to strip the ball or going with hands up. I'm saying it should be a foul 19 times in 20.

He turned and tossed the ball backwards right beside his face... what player wouldn't block a shot like that?

Are you suggesting a short player just shouldn't ever block a shot? It's not like Ulis will do that multiple times a game every game you play. Isaiah Thomas is 5'9 and blocked 9 shots last season. It happens. This is an extremely weak complaint.

Had Ulis been the only time instance non-shot blockers turned into AD we aren't having this conversation...happens much too often.

            reading....still FUNDAMENTAL.

Copy/Paste for the guy in the back not paying attention: "I'm not saying he can't get blocks, I'm saying gameplay should skew the game WAY in favor of him NOT getting one. Keep in mind, to the extent you're ok with ratings & skillset not mattering...you're also ok with Hassan Whiteside beating you from deep and Shaq going 15-15 from the line.

Man Kush is a great poster and a rep of simnation.

                    He usually bats .900.

I'm not a baseball fan either....all good tho. Disagreeing is fine...but make it factual--I wont even post Ulis' block rate because it embarrassing. And Rodriguez is 6'3".

That people are making the argument equivalent of "Its ok if Drummond goes 4-4 from three." ummmmm....no. That's comical.

Talk about the overreaction of the year. Are you under the assumption that short players get no blocks? Now if you brought out a block compilation of Tyler Ulis then we might have a problem. It's literally one block on a point guard. quit crying

You know its not hard to see what I said, right? Seriously...take ur lil mouse and look through the thread....then come back here and type, YES...in that order.

If it's one block we aren't here talking about it....its an issue that rears its ugly head in online H2H, repeatedly.

Talk about over exaggerating.. You keep comparing a 1 out of fifty sequence to Drummond or Whiteside going 4-4 from three and Shaq going 15-15 from the foul line.. You're literally the only one saying that they're the same. It's not the same thing and I don't know why you continue to say that it is except to push your agenda. Fact is you tried to go through Ulis holding turbo and you got punished for it.

I find it funny that you have a problem with the block, but you don't have a problem with you lead passing through 2 defenders with no consequence.. But that part of the play benefitted you, so you're not complaining about that, right? Only complain about that part that wasn't in your favor.

Tyler Ulis is a professional basketball player, he is capable of blocking. So you're telling me if a ball was 2 feet away from him, he went to swing, he would miss by a landslide? Absolutely not. It's realistic.

Because he got ONE block he was suddenly AD? You're so extreme with this lmao.

One block = ratings don't matter, Shaq will go 15-15 from the line.
