That people are making the argument equivalent of "Its ok if Drummond goes 4-4 from three." ummmmm....no. That's comical.

Nobody is doing that though? The guy turned and threw the ball backward right at him. The ball was at his face, doesn't matter if he's 4'2" with a block rating of 10 he should have been able to block that.

If that happened every trip up the court then you would have an argument. But you're being silly.

      Re: Tyler Ulis: Shot-Blocker

can't we just make a real thread complaining about how seth curry has high standing and driving dunk tendencies despite never attempting a dunk in his nba career. and as far as i can tell his entire life

complaints like this are the reason things that are fine get patched and break the game.

this thread is essentially saying dwight howard is steph curry because he made a few 3's that 1 all-star game.. i'm not even sure why it's still open

Fact is you tried to go through Ulis holding turbo and you got punished for it.

I find it funny that you have a problem with the block, but you don't have a problem with you lead passing through 2 defenders with no consequence.. But that part of the play benefitted you, so you're not complaining about that, right? Only complain about that part that wasn't in your favor.
        1. Blocks in a vacuum are fine....when PGs and other people who don't possess the skill-set to do it? Then yup...I have a problem, as should you.
        2. I've said several times that Ulis can get blocks...its just that him whiffing or getting called for a foul should far exceed his block outcomes.
        3. Being OK with Ulis getting blocks = Shaq shooting threes, they're the same. "but...but...He's an NBA player" is a silly argument. Plenty of players are specialists.
        4. I don't lead pass...nothing against people who do, just not my thing. More than a lil too cheesy for my tastes. Pretty sure when people lead pass you see the basketball icon, sport. You'll never see one in any of my vids.
        5. I rarely turbo in half-court....but please, continue.

Balance, counters and player limitations are critical in online H2H.....this isn't your lil franchise where you're the defending 5-time champs (set on Pro difficulty no doubt) we're talking about.

So does saying something like this happening is unacceptable because of ratings = condoning balls going through players because their steal rating isnt high enough? or Curry being able to navigate through traffic, limbs and all because his handle rating is high?

OP puts an example of a layup 3 feet off the ground and complains about blocks from shorter players.

The problem with highlight films is that actual data trumps them every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Lin (like most guards not named Wade, Bledsoe and Westbrook) averages less than 1 block every 100 possessions...statistically he looks like this:

                  .08

Yup...that's less than a 1% chance he gets blocks in 100 possessions. Ratings represent what happens most of the time....not what happened once in a silly lil' highlight film. Gameplay should follow suit. So yeah--much higher chance of a foul than anything else.

What's unacceptable is the ratio...if Ulis goes for 20 blocks gets called for 15 fouls, whiffs four times and gets one block i'm fine with it. The problem is he can get blocks too often because user-timing & ratings don't matter enough....that's Madden "my backup QB can be Montana if I can read defenses" bad...

RE: Curry I never expect the physics in games to be perfect. But when too much stuff isn't authentic it hurts the experience--online it can break the game. If Gortat can stay with CP3 on the perimeter and say, Nerlens Noel is a threat from three...you've allowed all of these player's strengths w/o any of the weaknesses......

Conversely, there have to be consequences for putting Curry at the 4 and Klay at the 5....because people will do it, you play online--you KNOW they will.

                        1. Except it's been pointed out that in this particular case, the player in question DOES possess the skill set.
                        2. Pretty sure that he definitely whiffs on blocks more than he doesn't in game. You're just trying to use the extreme case like you have in every post in this thread.
                        3. Ulis getting 1 block out of 50 shots on him is not the same as Shaq shooting 100%. There you go with that nonsense again. (By the way, Shaq has shot 13/13 and 12/12 twice from the line).
                        4. Hur dur hur, that's not the only way to lead pass "sport". Unless you think that lead passing has only been in the game for 2 years. You can lead pass with icon pass and the pass made in this video is a lead pass without icon pass. Should have been a turnover considering you lead passed through 2 defenders.
                        5. I don't care what you "rarely" do.. You can literally see your stamina on the top half of your player indicator drain from where you tried to turbo through Ulis to shoot.

That you even mentioned Shaq's 12-12 and 13-13 instances like they're equivalent is just--heck, I dont know what that is....his career FT% is 53, Hard question: you think we should base his rating off that or those outliers you thought deserved mention? #dontanswerthat #hilarious

No, he doesn't...that you think 9 blocks in a COLLEGE CAREER are evidence of.... oh...you're from Kentucky lol. Nevermind...

                              okay seriously?

                              This thread needs to stop.

OP obviously doesn't care enough to listen and debate the topic reasonably and is dismissing everybody that disagrees with him.
