Patch 1.04 is out for PS4

Okay so I feel responsible for starting the banter. I thoroughly apologize although I do not change my stance. Can we get the thread back on track? Any feedback from you PS4 guys that have the latest patch please?

When will 2K stop favoring PlayStation ? Pretty ridiculous to me. And they try to blame it on Microsoft. Any other game patches come out the same day. Well at least Playstation can see what they broke first while we are still in the past.

Not entirely true. Games such as Project Cars, F1, Witcher, and Madden have at times done the same thing in regards to patch releases. This is not exclusively a 2k issue. It does suck though as I'm on X1.

tyberious--How is the play execution post patch? Are plays still taking a tad too long to run?

I'm seeing the CPU immediately run their plays once they cross half court.....

I had to tone down 3pt tendencies to 55 for the cpu..The post is pretty good also, I'm paying close attention to the and 1's right now I have that slider set to 2 for hum/cpu

I swear if it wasnt for the ease of console gaming and the fact that I dont want spend a grand for a gaming PC, I would get NBA2k on the PC right now.

Nothing better than having 100% accurate arenas and player likenesses. I used to come home from work and the first place I would go is NLSC to see if there were any new mods available.

I don't dispute your point, but minor quibble: a gaming PC on par with XB1/PS4 can be had for less than half a grand. I'm not going to lie and say you can do it all for the same price or less than a console, but it's nowhere near a grand either. Especially if you assume you already have a TV and controller from your console.

I think the difference is that games like the Witcher 3 are developed primarily for PC and ported (for lack of a better word) to consoles. The primary platform will always get the patch first.

In NBA 2k's case, the PC version is the port, so it's at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to updates. I'm just happy there is a PC version and they aren't just releasing the last-gen version anymore.

The Witcher is the exception, not the rule. Not even counting the Witcher, there really aren't other games (almost all of which are ported from console) where PC is always last for patches. Platforms usually release at the same time or PC is first (or an optional beta patch, like I think we had at one point for Fallout 4). NBA2k is unique in that PC support is explicitly last despite the games costing the same and releasing the same initially.

I pimped all my stadiums out with the logos, sponsers, used player headscans and the like. Brought a more immersive experience. Now console users have all the tools. Its a beautiful thing. I'm with you, I still want a gaming PC but consoles have caught up a bit. The separation between PC and console was large up until the latest consoles.

I was under the impression the opposite was true--the last generation (and before) of consoles, hardware was right up there with the latest and greatest. PS4/XB1 on the other hand were already behind on release, and now they're embarrassing dated in turns of raw power (their closest PC equivalent, the 750ti, is an older, budget, entry level card at this point). This is why, for the first time, Microsoft and Sony are working on newer consoles with upgraded hardware midway through a generation. Not to sound too much like a shill, but consoles have fallen further behind (purely on objective factors, that is).

I'm honestly not sure what you mean by having all the 'tools.' I would assume you mean other things like modding, but I'm not aware this is even possible with a console...I'm pretty sure they're just limited to the ingame experience. If I'm wrong then I might have to reconsider my next purchase.

So silly they don't release patch notes w/ the patch.

Hoping moving screens is added. Would be a game changer.

When were the patch notes coming out again? - it was mentioned - but it got lost among all the "my opinion on the game is better and I'll ramble a bit more to reinforce my argument" stuff. I mean honestly guys - is there a prize I'm not seeing?. Some of yall act like winning an argument will get you a golden ribbon (if there was actually a golden ribbon I might ramble too but there isn't). Gonna have to search where it was mentioned among the war zone.

I did not know that. All of the PCs that would run the game at the top end I was seeing were running 800-1k.

What I like from the patch so far is the shooting success rate is lower and more realistic:

- Both sides are making shot at lower rates both wide open and contested shots.

- CPU can miss both FTs, not sure how often, but this happened right at the first CPU FTs by Jokic of Nuggets who has 80 FT.

Hope to see more improvement as I play further.

I did not know that. All of the PCs that would run the game at the top end I was seeing were running 800-1k.

Not even really looking hard, the front page of PCPartPicker has a sample entry level build for $566. No OS, but this also uses SSD storage instead of HDD, and the video card is about twice as powerful as the XB1/PS4 hardware. You could cut back in those departments or shop used to go even cheaper.

Still not the ease of a console, but that's not what my quibble was with

Anyways, I'm still anxious about this patch. Can anyone check Real Player % and see if they did away with layup timing for it? I believe that was supposed to make it to this patch.
