Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
Just read thru this entire thread. There are some really great stories here. I think I will give this a shot again this year starting in college.
I will create all my favorite youtubers and put them all in one draft class with my created player. Player lock should be even more fun.
After reading this Thread I want to put some of your guys in a draft class and go against them also.

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
I started a Player-Lock myLeague as well. It's fabulous. It took some time getting used to it but making up your own story as you go, not being limited by cut-scenes or archetypes is insane! I love it! I simulated the first two seasons using EmbracethePace's Draft-Classes. In 2019 I finally loaded Willy Murphy into the game, a created player with 74 overall. 4th best PG in Clutch0z Draft-Class of 2019. I'll play once against every team of the league; the rest will be simulated
Murphy started at UNC as a 19 y/o PG, playing his heart out to be drafted as a lottery pick. His family could really use the money. Averaging 27.5 PPG, 4.3 RPB and 10.3 APG DraftExpress, as well as NBA and 2k Mock-drafts had Murphy at 16th to 20th pick for the draft.
However, the San Antonio Spurs took a leap of faith and drafted Murphy 8th overall.
The first month of the season hass been played and the Spurs aren't looking good. Murhpy's solid bench-player right now, but with only Kawhi and an aged Tony Parker we're not a winning team, holding the 11th position in the conference with a 11-12 record.
The press says that Murhpy has shown glimpses of what he can do. A season and obviously career high of 33pts versus GS shows how versatile he is as a scorer. His FG% could be better though and on defence he's a big liability.
Btw: Do any of you have some tips or insights on how to develop your player to his full potential? I wonder if I should only focus on a few attributes that I'd consider big weaknesses in player training or should I evenly spread the focus on all attributes?
Thanks guys!Last edited by RaiNN; 03-18-2017, 08:37 PM.Comment

Yeah I have to say that my favorite part of this is that you aren't locked to one story that is the same for everyone. Everyone's story is unique! About the training though, I've never actually looked at it and I'm going to definitely check it out now! Because my player, a SG, can't shoot the ball to save his life! So I'm going to allocate the majority of my training time there. I would say put most of your training points into your player's weaknesses.Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

If you give us a form to fill out for the draft class I'll definitely fill it for you to be in it.

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
Has anyone found a good slider set to use for player lock? I'm working on a set but I haven't been able to find a good balance. Seems like my team ALWAYS takes the lead once I sub out of a game, or I come back in and we're down 15. I've had very few close games thus far

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
This sounds awesome and had no idea 2k even had this feature!
I'm lost however with how you do this. I watched the video so I get the gist, but I read guys starting in college?
And how do you create a player to not be so dominant and realistic type of player? Do you replace a guy in the draft for your created guy or is he just an added player?

Starting in college is a more complicated process and probably only for the hardcore. But as far as making your player one thing you could do is give him legitimate ratings, or you could use the ratings 2K gives you in the create a player screen. Those are random.Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
Or do I sim to 2017, load a real draft class and player lock Lonzo Ball? Or edit that draft class creating myself and lock on from there? 2k can't possibly want this way of playing pushed cause it would be a lot money lost from MyCareer with people buying and spending VC.

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
So many options with this! Maybe just not even create a guy and lock onto Ben Simmons (who was drafted 4th by Boston) in a test run I just did. Gonna play quick game locked on him and see how it feels.

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
Created myself and put into the 2016 draft class. I am going for Klay Thompson wanna be so I'm a 6'7 220lb SG who is a good 3pt shooter. 76ovr so will be interesting to see where I am drafted.
I watched the draft lottery and oh man did things change! Pelicans with 6.7% chance wins #1 pick. Lakers pick falls outside of top 3 protected so the 76ers received their 4th pick plus theeir own #2 pick. The Suns are lucky as well landing #3 and #13. I personally would love to be drafted by them or Boston but we'll see!

It sounds like you'd be a great fit in New Orleans with Demarcus and AD. Wouldn't be bad in PHI either with Ben Simmons and Embiid! I would hate being picked by the Suns though! [emoji38]Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

Re: NBA 2k17 Player Lock Thread
OH MY GOD. I was drafted #1 overall to the Pelicans to my surprise!
76ers drafted Ben Simmons and Buddy Hield. Suns drafted Ingram. Celtics drafted Chris Dunn, while the Kings got Jalen Brown...so interesting! Ready to see if I can live up to the hype as #1 overall pick.20170323_172053.jpg
