Yeah that's what frustrates me most.

If you guys have an off line save you can turn off your WiFi and it will make the game work.

Well that's fine and dandy but that doesn't excuse them from being a piece of **** company in the way of acknowledging a problem. Why can't they handle game updates like every other developer in the known universe?

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I use cloud save because all 30 teams are custom, and they won't allow us to do more than 3 teams for offline saves.

My game is starting but every time I connect to Xbox live my 2k app immediately freezes.. I cannot connect to the 2k severs as a result..

I've cleared reserve space, cleared mac address, used a wireless vs cable connection... I currently have the CPU v CPU in Play Now and will try to connect again after the game.

If it doesn't work then my product is pretty much rendered useless until something clears on the sever side. I never even had these problematic loading hangs and connect issue in my PC Gaming days for Madden 😕

Came back after a few days away hoping this would be fixed.. hah no chance!
Anyways, repost for those who missed it a few pages back:

The best workaround is to take Xbox offline, then start the game.
To do that just go to console settings/network/take offline.

Then once the game has loaded you can connect back to xbox live again. Works every time for me now and only takes 20 seconds as opposed to 15/20 minutes!
              Sim. Ball. Only.

When I tried that the first time I was told the XB1 I was on needed to be my "home" system (I have 2 XB1s in my house) in order to not have to be online. After switching that and restarting my console, I still get a message from 2K that it requires an internet connection.

Hmm, well i go to home screen and connect back to xbox live just after the logos/chris paul screen, did you try that way or does the message come up soon as u start the game?

Here's what Xbox One Users need to do next game: shift our buying schedule off by 6 or 7 months. We should start buying the game after Basketball season is over. That serves 2 purposes:
                    (1) Not as many "Update Required", if any at all.
                    (2) We can buy the game used at great prices, which will impact 2K's sales.

Problem with that for me is that the "Update Required" message often pops up for me after I've had the game on for 20 or 30 minutes.

I let a CPU v CPU play now game finish and soon after I was able to receive the update required prompt. I was then able to successfully connect to the 2k servers.

First time I had to go to these lengths.

That message comes up when I try to launch the game from the dashboard, so I don't get that far.
