So this is the first time the arcade mode tuning has been separated from the sim modes? That bodes well for 18 if you guys have finally compartmentalized the tuning. Or has it always been this way?

It was games I went 7/7 all jumpshots. It was some I went 4/8 all jumpshots. I think that's fair.

If you was clanking like that you either don't have the appropriate ratings or you just not as good of a shooter as you think. Just my opinion though.

Played a game last night where I was 6 of 29 or something like that. Shot horribly. The very next game I played the first quarter, and decided to take better shots - not just open shots, but shots in hot zones or coming off of GOOD picks (which are RARE on HOF as the AI defenders don't trigger the animation) and shot over 40%.

But I had to shoot with guys who had higher ratings or who were already hot or in the corner.

Forced me to adjust my playstyle.

Also, Beluba, if you can answer a question. Why does it seem like late releases, especially those where the bar appears to be full but not green, seem to be punished more than early releases of the same caliber?

      I'm not complaining. Just curious.

Certain aspects of gameplay were already separated. Even certain aspects of shooting, just not shot timing effects. So Yeah. This is the first time. With 18, I'll have even finer control over individual modes to make them exactly how they should be.

By the numbers, that shouldn't be the case. If you're a frame early or a frame late off the perfect window, should be the exact same %

Hey Mike, I'm good friends with Space Jam owner JT...and I follow him on twitter. They just posted this and I have to say I fully agree 100% with this statement. What do you think? I honestly shooting attributes for all archetypes should be no lower than a 65. The ratings should be way way higher so we can get more green releases or higher success rate for hitting an open shot. Rewarding bad defense (Leaving your guy open because everyone is bricking shots) is a bad look if you ask me.

Just played an MLO playoff gm. I shot in the 30's from 3 and my opponent in the 20's we both play good defense and have poor shooting teams. It was fun. Thanks for making it realistic again Beluba.

So easy shooting is back! But not looking to cut out the glitches in the game! Don't know why my player is moving away from his defender! Plenty of more glitches to mention but hey let's tweak the shooting because the cry babies complain so much that they get their way! But something logically to fix the game play and proper defence that forcing people to play on ball wouldn't be a good idea! I guess not! Maybe I should look for 2k27 when everything should be fix!

Wide open shots in n the NBA miss all of the time... Kyle Korver is the best wide open shot shooter in the league at 55% and it drops spectacularly after that

A green release did not require skill before the changes because the game made it easy to get green releases which is why players with 60 3pt ratings could knock down shots at a high rate

Now shooting is actually hard as it should be.

Re: Mike Wang 4-28-17 Shooting Changes.

People say they know their releases but those previous shooting buffs gave you greens for hitting 95% on the bar.

Now you have to get 100% and not 99% to get your meter for the perfect release.

Also people who can't seem to get greens, what is your archetype and was your shot well contested?

Also if you're saying those 2k is letting contested shots go in. Show a video clip of that shot that went in and let us judge.

The shots contest that are "Bad Shot Selection" in 2k are going in everyday in REAL NBA.

I gotta chime in: I'm pro-shooting and I support e-sports just as much as anyone, if not more... but the excuses being given just makes us look bad.

Talkin' bout "pls no nerfs, is skill," has got to be the worst argument ever. It is not a skill to hold down the button and anyone who's played an esport game would confirm that.

If this is the attitude that the esport community has, then giving the money/competitions to these bums in pro-am community was a huge mistake.

I've gone on rants to defend high open shot shooting% but ill just sum it up quickly: Creating an open shot in 2k is nothing like it's NBA counterpart. Shooting percentages have no reason to reflect real NBA until all other factors in shot creation are considered.

Everyone saying shooting is too easy for you and you need it to be harder, how come you aren't shooting 100% from the field?

That logic is silly, like I told you last time. Your argument boils down to "Don't fix anything until you fix everything"
