it does for me if i dont buy it lol, but its hard. ill be honest about that, id much rather start from an 86ovl than 55ovl but all my itching and moaning is for nothing if i just go and buy like usual

before "your itching and moaning is already for nothing" comments arrive (not from you specifically Bruce!), i agree. it means nothing to anyone but me. but any of us could say that about any comment on any forum. end of the day its all barbershop talk

Most gamers don't want to grind with their MyPlayer. They didn't like last year's grind but it was realistic.

The only advice I can keep giving people on VC is to not buy it. I can't blame game companies for trying to make revenue. These games ,have investors. Investors want returns, especially when they see games like GTA have unbelievable success with their online thing. People have to be realistic about this.

i agree, its a business! who i really feel bad for is the creative team. you spend a year if not longer pouring your all into a project then some suit who NEVER will ever play your game (prob doesnt watch basketball) only has one question " how can we increase monetization"

but youre right its a business, we all have jobs. im in sales and i do pride myself on being great at what i do, however when management wants to increase costs theres nothing i can do but inform the customer..

And yes there is,another option that doesn't have VC to buy. It's not being ignorant by suggesting that as an option.
And if nobody says anything, it's entirely possible that they could go rampant and make it worse. Like I said...we aren't hurting anybody else by asking the team why things continue down this path.

Look, you may not be upset, but there is a breaking point for everybody (Although for some I'd argue there is none, which I don't get). When you reach that point, you're not going to like when your concerns are constantly met with "Be quiet nobody cares deal with it" or "Just don't buy it, your words won't do anything" Because quite frankly, I could do that to other people. I don't care about sweat, but somebody else made a thread about it and I'm not going to go turd on their preferences, because I could also say "Who cares about sweat there's far bigger issues with gameplay, you're just wasting space" which is basically how this concerned crowd is getting treated.

I respect the hell out of Czar and all the devs who got OUR best interests at heart.

I respect Czar and all the devs but VC is something some old guys in suits, made a decision to include in the game. These men probably don't even play videogames

And gamers responded by giving them millions of dollars. That's very messed up if you really think about it.

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?

In years past if you didn't have internet connection, the grind was the same, just labeled as attribute points.

So if you go online you had access to purchasing. But the offline product was the grind with no way of speeding it up.

So you were basically forced to grind with no other alternative if you wanted a high overall offline.

If every shirt you want costs VC, and every shoe, etc, it makes sense hair etc would be reasonable to include.

I'm in the group that, I really think what you CHOOSE (crossover, jumpshot, shoe) should MATTER. So yes, I want you to have to prioritize.

Nothing is given, everything is earned (even if you broke your back at your day/night job for it).

Another perspective, why are we not valuing the labor players are putting in on their 60 hour work week they put towards their game? "They're not the problem it's the kids/cheesers"... so it's the player that is the problem with the VC then right?

Hopefully we still get significant VC bonuses from Endorsements.

At some point we will expect to see an the payout for games double just so we can better handle these extra charges and hiked prices year to year.

The option to grind , without buying VC , has always been there, but people don't want to and complain about it. It's kind of hypocritical

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?

I'm not buying it. I won't call it a boycott. I'm just like heh. I expressed my concerns about it, though. There is a lot I dislike about the direction, though, I dislike the bucket upgrade system, too.

I think VC is one of those things that if people are loving the game, they will pay for it, but if they aren't... I mean, with all the money they make on VC I would have liked to see more things than x player on the cover... Lavar Ball text messages, live park music. It's like man I really don't care about that. Make it so the game doesn't lag online. Make it so it doesn't kick you off or when you do get kicked off you can re-enter the game.

I don't love 2k, and I haven't loved it for a bit. Been playing less and less each year, so that's why VC is a glaring issue for me. It's easier for me to see it than the people who are so enamored with 2k.

It'd also be less offensive if they just set a bar for what costs VC when they introduced it and left it at that, instead of like gradually charging more and for more things. It's obvious they are trying to force you to buy even more VC, and that doesn't sit well. I bought the game last year and was like so what, I'm not buying VC, but now I realize that was a mistake. This year, not buying.

Oh well. I will continue to offer suggestions from time to time, probably. Cuz I want 2k to be a good game even if I don't play it. I want kids to have a good bball game to play. I mean most of us have given 2k thousands of dollars over the years, so we should be able to speak our minds.

                          -Smak

How is that hypocritical? It's being critical of a game design. That's not what being a hypocrite means. People can not want to buy VC and still express why so many things are wrong.

Read through that thread, see the same recycled arguments. I think it's simply this:

A lot of us clamor for a ranked 5 v 5 mode that we can jump into. Nobody wants to be a superstar quickly or even said, so please don't bring that up for the 100000th time. It's not about being impatient. We just want a competitive 5 on 5 mode that is balanced. And right now, that has quite the entry barrier of time and/or money.

Well they probably aren't taking VC out of the game. It's been in since 2k13 at least . NBA Live does not have VC but has what you want in this post. You have an option here. If 2k won t change this, which it doesn't look like they will since its profitable, why not consider the other option?

What do my decisions have to do with anything I just posted? How do you know that I haven't considered other options? What is your purpose of being in this thread?

We're here to post about why we're not happy with the direction things have gone. People are trying to offer solutions, a middle ground, to try and make their experience better. That's what feedback is. You keep trying suggest to people to act with binary decisions.

I'm not sure why people who want to defend 2k's practices insist that we feel the exact same way. Like I've said several, several times: we're not bothering anything with your bottom line.
