Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
That doesn't look anywhere near as good as the 2k18 screenshot but I'm assuming the 2k18 screenshot is rendered the same way as a cut scene not in game footage as such.Comment

Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
What a remarkable improvement...shoulders are proportioned way better, biceps look way more toned, eyes look much more life-like, skin texture & sweat looks 10x more natural, and the facial expression looks a lot less cartoonish
Unless they individually scanned each & every player's body this year, then I'm pretty sure that all of this is going to benefit the CAP's in a huge way
Notice in the 2k17 pic, they got Embiid under skin tone 2, & that body type & facial expression is the same body type & facial expression that all created players have
Wouldn't surprise me if (in the 2k18 pic) Embiid is now displaying a new version of skin tone 2, a new default body type, & if they went ahead and re-created all of the facial expressions
If so, I'm hoping they found a way to make the facial features (like lips, cheeks, eyes, eye bags, discolorations...etc) look more realistic too

Say what you want about 2K, but they definitely listen......Comment

Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
I especially hate that one duck face expression, where the lips poke out, eyebrows raise, & cheeks get really fat & puffy...outside of LeBron, it truly throws everybody's face off...hopefully they took that out of the gameLast edited by Harrypotheadd; 07-28-2017, 07:05 AM.Comment

Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
I'll be happy if that lighting is consistent on the court.
I am happy with the body models and jerseys thus far I must say.Comment

Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
The lighting in that image is like a perfect blend of 2k14 & 2k17 lighting. I'd be blown away if it reflected that way off of players, on the court.Comment

But here's hoping.
One year I'd like one of the early released pics to be taken from a broadcast view to us to chew on......Comment

I believe with the pro and xbox one x with 4k hdr the lighting will reflect that way on court. Vanilla ps4 and xbox one s maybe not

Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots
Definitely didn't see that in the earlier pics and I can't help but speculate the on court lighting has been reduced to be able to run smoother (or something....). Because the MyGM "backstage" pics always seem to be lit well (from memory).
But here's hoping.

And yeah, that would be really awesome. We'd be able to analyze so many things from just that one photo.Comment

Or was the game just not developed with good lighting?
I guess my point is, if 2K18 is developed with poor lighting (to fit other modes etc. in), does the platform matter?Comment
