Notice in the 2k17 pic, they got Embiid under skin tone 2, & that body type & facial expression is the same body type & facial expression that all created players have

Wouldn't surprise me if (in the 2k18 pic) Embiid is now displaying a new version of skin tone 2, a new default body type, & if they went ahead and re-created all of the facial expressions

If so, I'm hoping they found a way to make the facial features (like lips, cheeks, eyes, eye bags, discolorations...etc) look more realistic too
I see why console gamers are impressed, but I'm a PC head and we've had a better looking one than 2k17 original and new 2k18 version on PC....

Images below of 2k17 on PC!!!

That doesn't look anywhere near as good as the 2k18 screenshot but I'm assuming the 2k18 screenshot is rendered the same way as a cut scene not in game footage as such.

The big difference I see here is that 2k18 Embiid doesn't suffer from puffy cheek fat head syndrome. Looks a lot better....waiting for more info....

Also an apparent effort at muscle definition (shoulder/bicep separation).

Say what you want about 2K, but they definitely listen......

Yea that 2K18 Embiid looks much better than anything else I've seen in here so far (even those bshadows 2k17 Embiid pics).

I especially hate that one duck face expression, where the lips poke out, eyebrows raise, & cheeks get really fat & puffy...outside of LeBron, it truly throws everybody's face off...hopefully they took that out of the game

Agreed. Best looking 2k render I've seen since LeBron in 2k14

I'll be happy if that lighting is consistent on the court.

I am happy with the body models and jerseys thus far I must say.

The lighting in that image is like a perfect blend of 2k14 & 2k17 lighting. I'd be blown away if it reflected that way off of players, on the court.

Definitely didn't see that in the earlier pics and I can't help but speculate the on court lighting has been reduced to be able to run smoother (or something....). Because the MyGM "backstage" pics always seem to be lit well (from memory).

                        But here's hoping.

One year I'd like one of the early released pics to be taken from a broadcast view to us to chew on......

I believe with the pro and xbox one x with 4k hdr the lighting will reflect that way on court. Vanilla ps4 and xbox one s maybe not

You're right, those first images lead me to believe that the lighting is gonna be really dim, but colors are going to pop way more. I'll take that tradeoff for now.

And yeah, that would be really awesome. We'd be able to analyze so many things from just that one photo.

You could be right, bc Madden looks absolutely incredible on the Xbox One X...Can't imagine 2k just not taking advantage of any of that extra power

See that's interesting to me. Because I don't know how it works from a developmental standpoint.... but hypothetically if we took (let's face it) the dullest lit version (2K15) and played it maxed out on a very high end PC, would it be lit like 2K14?

Or was the game just not developed with good lighting?

I guess my point is, if 2K18 is developed with poor lighting (to fit other modes etc. in), does the platform matter?
