That’s weird that the estate wouldn’t want some games included. I guess they have their reasons. I was thinking they’d add another moment and 3 more challenges as DLC.

Yeah man, but sometimes you gotta try to put yourself in their shoes. If Kobe was your dad or loved one.. and you were around for all those memories, how tough would it be to see those in a video game? Empathy is kinda the name of the game.

Sometimes we gotta take ourselves out and realize we are talking about the guys family and close people dealing with this. I do wish there was more but they could of said "Nah" and had every right to do so.

I do feel that, a message on some of the obvious omissions could of been spoken on, but who am I to make that ask lol

I’m a 80’s & 90’s guy. Had a lot going lately so haven’t bought the game in a while. Are there many players from that period that still have old faces? Game looks great!

I remember some still had PS3 era faces. (Ricky Pierce, Jim Jackson)

Some had decent faces but really needed work. (D Robinson, Kemp, Kidd)

Some players had huge heads! Lol! (Seikaly, Dudley)

Same here. The eras mode has been huge to give us access to players from the 80s to early 2000s that we would have never gotten otherwise. They’ve been continuing to update guys throughout the year that have been carried over for years. I think Ricky Pierce and Jim Jackson have been updated, but unfortunately many of the others you listed have yet to be touched.

The more annoying part is that a bunch of guys have been touched up in the eras but often don’t get updated in the official 2K play now rosters, so they have to be carried over manually from the eras rosters.

I buy 2K every year exclusively to play with the historic teams, so if that’s your thing too, 2k23 was a huge jump from all of the previous years and 2k24 was a surprisingly big step up even from 2k23.

Webbers past stats aren’t in the Kobe ERA.

Honestly speaking, is there much worth it in 2k14 to upgrade from 23? Is the game actually better? Or is it pretty much the same, with just a bit of polish?

I'm never going to play the Lebron era, and essentially have everything I need with the 80's, 90's and early 2000's in 2k23.

Sincerely wondering if It's worth looking at it later on down the line.

                - Retro PA Announcers are present in classic eras
                - Throwback All Star jerseys are present from 1983 on
                - Lots of "hidden" classic players faces available
                - In modern Era, you will have alot new throwbacks available to you

If any of those dont move the needle for you, then stick with 2K23

This is what I sent AirJ23:

Just wanted to say I understand your reservations about 2K23. Here are my positives (didn't want to clog a thread with this):
                  1) it's the 25th anniversary of the series
                  2) Play Now with Era teams
                  3) I like the transition cut scenes after made baskets
                  4) I think the annoying youth dance team is gone

That's really it for me. If 2K23 had #2, I'm pretty sure I would not have purchased 2K24. In some aspects 24 looks better, but overall 23 might look the best out of the 2. Super-annoying that roster editors can't work on the game yet because of the dunk glitch. You're not really missing anything in my opinion. That's just my two cents.

I don't think there's enough of a point in getting it if you're not going to play the Lebron Era, just like it was enough of a point in me getting it to play Play Now with Era teams.

Stick with ‘23. At least until Black Friday. Let time pass and see if they address some of these bugs.

I’m telling you, right now, you’re definitely getting a better ERAs experience with ‘23. Better customization - with court creation that isn’t completely broken. Also, many of the historic courts were downgraded this year. They went with this super bright tile that just doesn’t look good, nor accurate. 91 Blazers, 91 Sonics, 00’s Heat, 00’s Lakers, etc.

I will say tho, Create-A-Player is way better this year, so you’re missing out on better creations of Chuck and Reggie. The choice is yours.

It's too early for me to tell.

I've learned over the years that some things that seem perceivably different in 2K upon initial plays end up leveling out over time (or just end up being figments of my imagination).

I'll say this as a retro guy though, if 2K doesn't end up patching the new create-a-court glitches (no space in baseline text & beige floor paint when no paint chosen), it's going to be tough to sit here and say that 2K24 is going to offer a better classic experience, especially for fans of the '80s and '90s (having baseline text read as DETROITPISTONS or HOUSTONROCKETS on a created court is just immersion breaking enough to make things weird).

That aside, here's some differences I'm digging:

                      1. Mamba Moments was a lot of fun and really well done. A great addition to their Moments series.

                      2. Legitimate rim hang dunks are back. Not just the dangling manual hangs but the Kenyon Martin/Shaq/Kemp types of rim hangs.

                      3. A number of classic players added and faces refined. Some classic jerseys also added but it sounds like they don't trigger in Eras mode, which makes that a neutral addition to me.

                      4. The apparent presence of fast breaks. Requires more gameplay and testing to be sure but it seems like there's more breakaway opportunities as well as times where I can't catch a CPU ball handler on the run, which is nice.

                      5. Sounds like the Eras championship trophy celebration was fixed, so you can finally actually watch your team reap their reward.

                      6. Eras added newspapers & NBA.com. Haven't tried it yet & sounds bare bones but hey, it's a thing and they're trying so it's appreciated.

                      7. Cross platform roster, player, courts, and scenario sharing. Of course, the success of that feature for retro gamers is probably pretty contingent on some glitches getting squared away first (the create-a-court glitch and dunk edit glitch among them).

                      8. I've broadly enjoyed the gameplay this year.

All that being said, I feel I've become familiar with your particular 2K preferences and with your MJ/Bulls fandom, I'd wonder if any of that stuff pushes the needle far enough for ya, especially since it sounds like one set of Bulls jerseys seem to be stuck with the '92 black shoulder patch for years on end.

If they do these two updates for MyNBA, I would tell you to go ahead and rock out:

                        - Clean up some jersey issues, Bulls/Sixers jerseys updated /Sleeved Jerseys triggering during MyEras with the new throwbacks

-Court Creator issue with the text spacing and Beige part

Literally, those two would change the experience for ALOT of people for MyEras

So aside from the nostalgia factor that 2k23 provided (which I loved because it’s basically the only reason I buy 2k to begin with) I hated 2k23.. from a gameplay perspective this game feels substantially better to me. If that doesn’t matter to you, then it’s not worth it.

The addition of the LeBron era is cool, they added A LOT of players who weren’t in the game to that mode. It’s cool seeing all those guys. I’m fully into the classic stuff, but I’m also a “more is better” type of person. I enjoy every era of NBA history, including the one now and the ones that pre-date my fandom as well. So for me having as many eras as possible is a huge bonus regardless of which teams/eras they actually add..

Also quick play for the classic eras was a massive bonus. Part of my giant frustration with last years game. That alone would have been worth buying for me personally.

If all you’re into is spamming the Jordan era over and over and over and that’s just the world you live in, idk how ever buying another 2k after 2k23 would make sense until there is a completely new engine or overhaul. To me this game has so much more to offer, but I know we have a certain crowd that doesn’t venture outside of whatever happened when MJ played.. to each his own.

As an aside, I think it was a really poor design choice to throw up an "all-time" montage in the background of every era team. For example, if I select the 2011 Pistons, the background montage is a giant photo of Isiah Thomas with Grant Hill slashing out front. Or if I pick the 2011 Nets and 2011 Knicks I get:

I know, it's a small thing in the scheme of things but it's surprisingly disorienting when I'm sifting through Eras teams, especially when the guy in the background is still active in the era you're sifting through but not on the team you're looking at (like the 2011 Nets with Jason Kidd in the background).

^ You're giving them too much credit V. I actually think that's not a small thing--I noticed it, too, and it's kind of off-putting. I'm not looking for perfection, but I've just seen a number of head-scratching things in this year's game. And I'm / we're STILL waiting on the dunk glitch to be fixed.

and not a single word about that in Lebron era (at least, didn't try the rest) coaches are wearing team sports wear, instead of regular suites.
