They're still trying to outrun the 2K14 next gen disaster (when a seemingly random art team created most of the classic team atrocities we're still seeing today) and there's still some new player appearances that have left me scratching my head (Stephen Jackson looks pretty wild) but there's also been a number of small tweaks that I've come to believe just weren't ever going to get noticed by the 2K team. Some of the biggest things I've noticed so far:

    1) Some legend improvements. Michael Jordan finally got the visual treatment he deserved. Some others were tweaked as well, even if they weren't perfected (Joe Dumars).

    2) 1989 Pistons road jerseys were obnoxiously inaccurate for years (even said the wrong thing on the chest). That's been fixed.

    3) The 2003 Dallas Mavericks now have access to their proper navy road jersey. Previously, they could only wear the more modern royal-ish blue roads.

    4) 2K added the ability for classic teams to pick from any of their franchise's jersey selections available in the game. This is beneficial in multiple realms. For one, it's allowed some classics access to alternate or throwback jerseys they may have worn in a given season (classics were previously limited to two jerseys, period). Second, it can provide roster-makers with some flexibility. Some classic teams can be shifted to different years while retaining their court art but wearing different/additional jerseys (2002 Nets can be morphed into a red-alternate-wearing 2007 Nets).

    5) I could be wrong, but I've gathered that Glenn Robinson III may have done motion capture for 2K this past year. I think I may have noticed a couple of dunk packages he might be responsible for that could help flesh out some legend signatures. For one, I've noticed more cradles and cuffs than usual.

    6) Classic team offenses seem to run more effectively this year. This is via limited use so far (four games or so) but as one example, I think I saw Richard Hamilton run off more baseline screens in a half a quarter than I saw in all of 2K17.

    7) There's a huge heaping of new players and teams. Some (Xavier McDaniel) don't look great but most actually seem to be pretty well done.

    8) All players are fully editable in terms of information and vitals, right on down to their name. Considering the oddly hamstrung create-a-player, it gives us a fighting chance to find doppelgangers on the All-Time teams or elsewhere. Or, in the least, it allows us to change Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's name to what it was for that 1971 championship season (Lew Alcindor).

Not directly related to only classic teams but still important:

    9) Last year's on-the-fly substitution abomination has been replaced with a more reasonable and intuitive alternative (if not ideal).

    10) Mentioned a few pages ago but it bears repeating, the annoying young generic blonde coach talking to you during every Quick Play time-out is gone. The game is nearly worth the price of admission based on his absence alone.

There are definitely some upgrades...such as being able to change legend ages. I’m glad they fixed some jerseys, but its still hard to understand the logic of why they can’t give the short shorts option for the older jerseys. Especially since they are still in the game.

The signature animations are also real head scratchers. (i.e. Bob Cousy has a dunk package) They did a much better job in the 2K12 Legends Showcase with animations, and most of those are still in the game, just not assigned. I guess they want to make sure the sig guys have something to do.

True words. There's still plenty of shortcomings. I'm just glad they moved a number of things in the right direction.

Regarding the signatures, I know you're being light-hearted (about giving us something to do) but that's kind of how I've looked at it. I'm lucky because I'm an offline guy so I can edit shots, dunks, and accessories how I see fit. I don't envy classic online gamers.

But yes, there's plenty of places where things feel rushed upon implementation. If I had to guess, they probably were. I'm not sure what can be done about that.

Since I'm here, in addition to Cousy, here's at least two more players I've stumbled upon who need signature overhauls: Lindsey Hunter and Stephen Jackson. Hunter has a super-athlete dunk repertoire by default and Stephen Jackson appears to have all of Rudy Gay's signatures. So... I guess keep an eye out for that if you guys are planning on rolling with those teams, lest you want Jax pulling off MJ-type of stuff in the open floor.

Agreed, I haven't played a game with any other team than the 02 Nets. I just only have 2 problems.

          1. I don't have a few of the rotation players at the time(Lucious Harris the sixth man and Jason Collins)

          2. I'm trying to figure out what half court motion set/system i should use to get the most PnR and screens for shooters with Kidd being the primary ballhandler.

Either way its been a blast because Kidd is awesome in the open floor, and Czar has done wonders for breaks this year. I get a good 10 alleys to Kenyon/Jefferson on the break

Kendrick Perkins got a training camp deal with the Cavs let’s hope he makes opening night roster so he gets added back to the ‘08 celtics and ‘12 Thunder then we at least have him for two years (or is it one?)

Another positive I'm noticing is that it seems that they have expanded the name database significantly. I am working on creating a season roster for 1987 and they have some very random names in the database now. Players I don't think have ever been in the game. Danny Vranes? Steve Stipanovich? They are in there. Of course, for some reason, Harlan will randomly decide to use assigned nicknames at times which can be a little annoying but oh well.

It appears they got lazy with a lot of the new players. Baron Davis has Damian Lillard signatures. Also, Steve Nash's jump shot is horrible. Amare is missing his goggles and has the wrong number on the Knicks. Kerry Kittles has Arron Afflalo's signatures, including his arm sleeve. Marbury has Derrick Rose signatures. Darius Miles has Beasley shot. Tyson Chandler has the wrong number on the Knicks. This is paired with just general inaccuracies of accessories on players. It's not "game-breaking" but I wouldn't mind some attention to detail. Heck, just get an intern to do it one afternoon.

It annoys me Kittles is locked to jordan because he's a clone of Afflalo

I just wish they'd add in Caron Butler like they said they would already. I want to start making edits to these legends and build rosters

They desperately need to fix this. As well as adding LeBron's dunk face animation back in.

Pretty impressed with modern classic signatures included. Some animations have been happenstance in terms of looking accurate (ex: Ewing's out-stretched hands in celebration is something all players do but it still looks authentic when he does it). Other things are more unique to players themselves. Vince Carter's full signature package is actually pretty great this year (authentic clockwise 360's included). Also this:

I must be missing something. I tried to edit the ages of a few legends and get nothing. I get nothing for birth year. No biggie I guess.

You have to change it in quick edit, you just go to the age and use the analog to change the age
