The code probably still exist in the game. I don't remember off top of my head a dev doing something like that but I am sure it's possible but doubt it's easy

I messed around with it some more this morning trying to feel better about it. I'm not a graphic designer or computer programmer by any means, but it looks like each separate preset beyond the full facial preset (mouth, nose, eyes, etc,) acts like a completely different scan. Which would not be able to be sculpted or even skin tones adjusted. This was the price to pay to have more realistic looking CAPs I guess.

Looks like it's gonna be next year guys. I am close to being resolved on this.

Nah, IMHO, if it were something that could be done in 10 mins, I doubt we would have an 80 page thread. Thus, if I recall right and am not wrong, the staff tends to take some well deserved vacation days prior the launch maybe even up until a few days after it.

I have seen enough prior this misstep to be a believer on that the devs do care about our needs and wants, just that sometimes is not possible to provide us with them when we think they should, even if it was an issue caused by a direction they believed was they way to go and wasn't.

Again, hope for them to try and provide a 2K18 patch adding the depth that was taken away, rather than entirely substituting what we have now, for what we had prior ... if not, I expect them to build upon what we have now and towards what WWE2K18 will have, for 2K19.

Not only cant you manually choose a skin tone, the presets they give you have no variation to skin tones. There's no real light skin tone similar to steph curry.

That's the thing.. I amtalking about the CAP....I'm referring to 2K's failure to acknowledge the huge issues with it. It's not my fault every time we start the talking about it someone jumps in and details the conversation/discussion, JUST because it's negative and about 2K. This isn't the Madden forum, people shouldn't be banned/silenced when they have criticisms for the game.

I've just been trying to say my .02 but every time I do someone nitpicks my comment and spirals this thread into some off topic BS. All I've wanted to say is this:

I am fairly certain we won't get any updates or getting sculpting or any improvements to the CAP system becuse if we did, 2K would be all over it and guys like LD and Ronnie would be hyping it up and everything but we haven't gotten anything from either of them other than deflecting responses (from Ronnie) and "We're looking into it and sending it to the dev team" from LD. Which I understand is probably all they can do but it sucks to see them not even acknowledge their screw up.

Don't respond to this, I won't see it.

Give LD a chance and let's see what happens. I think by him coming on this forum and responding to all this is him acknowledging something is wrong.

It's really disappointing that we are this far into "next gen" and taking steps backwards. I'm probably most upset that I can't utilize the great works of Tgor and other CAP artists. Sure, filling out the role players on classic teams and retro rosters won't be that bad, but I'm most concerned about creating the stars that will be in the spotlight (Barkley, Miller, Sheed, Roy, Arenas, etc.)

Yep. I hate to say it but I don't think 2K will patch a better CAP system in. I've been following nba2k year in and year out, and they never patch stuff like that. It's just "balancing" sorta stuff, tweaks of gameplay and stuff like that.

Also, we all complained that 2k17 was over-patched last season and asked them not to do that for 2k18.
Granted, we were referring to the gameplay tweaks, but point is, 2K aren't gonna patch unless they absolutely have to.

The only way they would build on top of 2K18's CAP is if they get record numbers in complaints about it or their sales suffer. I don't see either of those things happening.

"New and improved Create a player system! Deeper than ever before!" will be one of their marketing points for 2k19, and you better believe they will capitalize on that. I've seen this kind of trend happen year in and year out. They remove something (not necessarily intentionally, it's usually because they changed some core code), and then they market its' return the following year. I mean if the game was perfect every year then there would be no desire to buy the next game, after all.

I'm just shattered that the thing that got hit this year was my favourite element of this game: creation.
Sooo ****ing frustrating.
Especially frustrating because i only have a couple more cycles of 2K left in me before i'm sick of basketball games. I've been playing basketball games since 2001. It does get old after a while.

P.s. Trent and Bruce, will you two shut the hell up? You have been bickering for pages on end, it doesn't help our cause. 2K don't wanna read posts of people getting personal.
