Re: 200,000 VC to upgrade player to 85
I actually like it better this way.
Paying for an 87/88 overall is just stupid and IMO ruins the competitiveness and value in this mode.
You should have to play 1, 2, maybe even 3 seasons to be near a 90 overall ranking.
Do you know how many people come into the league and are a perennial All Star with a nearly 90 overall rating?
I enjoy the more realistic route, if you want a 90 overall, grind for it, don't pay for it. You shouldn't expect an easy route, work for what you want and put in the time and dedication. If you don't like it, go play a quick game or buy NBA Live.Comment

Btu threads complainign about font sizes being too big or not enough sweat on players is fine? This is a serious issue not just for people that buy vc but also for those who play for free. It affects them too because lord knows how much time they have to play just to hit 85.Comment

I know. The longer the grind the better imo. Time is indeed more valuable than money, good thing we're playing 2k for fun/entertainment.Comment

Re: 200,000 VC to upgrade player to 85
While true, one thing being neglected in all this is that it looked like there were a lot more attribute upgrades than last year to choose from. Usually to max out a player last year without unlocking any upgrades, you had one or two tiers of upgrades that were untouched but every area got touched when it was upgraded.
What I'm saying is that one of the highest priced things was the speed at 25K, I think last year the most expensive attribute upgrades combined would be about 50-70K! So even though it is more expensive than the same value last year, you actually are getting more than you did last year for a cheaper price in terms of the whole bracket. This makes me wonder if we're getting weighted overall compared to the inflated one last year? No numbers yet to be able to see but that's a lot of upgrades compared to last year to get to an 85.
EDIT: Also keep in mind that we pay for stamina now which wasn't in the game last year. Full out stamina was 18K, that's would make it about 172K otherwise. I'll take that trade off compared to having to grind out stamina in those practices in between all those loading screens (oh and the worst when you get hustle after all those drills rather than stamina).Last edited by Inzombniac; 09-06-2017, 02:38 PM.Comment

Re: 200,000 VC to upgrade player to 85
It will not take MONTHS to be an 85 either, compiling VS honestly isn't that hard and doesn't take that long anyway. I'll be 85 within a month easily, more likely a couple to a few weeks.
When I first started 2k last year, I was beating people with my 60/70 overall when they were 85-95 overall anywayComment

Re: 200,000 VC to upgrade player to 85
It literally took me like 2 weeks to get to 88 on last year's game. Play well, on Hall of Fame, and you get at least 1000 VC a game.
Then there are things like endorsements which boosted that up.
I don't care either way I don't play online because it's all pay to win. That's the model and idiots soak it up and pay for it.

If somebody wants to spend hundreds of dollars to get an 85 overall, so be it, that's just ridiculous.

They better not touch how much VC we get on hof games though in mycareer. They had already lowered it from 2k16. If they keep it around 1800 then ill be fine.Comment

I grinded mycareer games in 2k17 and was able to get three characters to 95. I didn't spend a dollar on VC. It took me around a week to get to 88.

Playing on HOF gets you an absurd amount of VC really, as long as that isn't touched, this shouldn't be an issue at all.Comment
