Maan, how effective is DeAndre Jordan guarding the rim?
The first half against the LAC in my season with DET was crazy, they shot 69 , yes 69 % in the first half. My team shot 62 %, high as well and led the half by 64-62.
Second half they came back to earth, they finished the regulation with 53 % FG , my team was close to that and it ended 113-113 and ended with my win in OT with De Andre Jordan finally fouling out in late 4th.
In this game you literally feel the value of the rim protector, De Andre completely affected my offense, forced me to outside shots, made stupid decisions because of his threat inside with my guard driving to the rim.
I established 14+ lead with De Andre sitting out with foul trouble. Then he came back in 4th and Drummond left the game briefly for a few minutes with in-game injury (thankfully only light injury) and they instantly closed the gap and led the game with 5 mins. left in regulation.
It was a nail biter in the end, De Andre got fouled out finally with 1 and half mins. left in regulation so with Bradley's free lay-up to tie the game up with 4 secs. to go we took the game to OT.
De Andre wasn't there so the rim was wide open for drives and for Andre Drummond's monster offensive rebounds, domination inside.
I felt the impact of Drummond when he left the floor, our team turned into a mediocre team, couldn't find the rim and couldn't defend the paint.
It's so good to see that the game is closer to real nba this season. Ups and downs, importance of players are very well executed.
Amazed once again. (35-17 on the 58 game season, 6 games left for playoffs, 1st in the East but i feel limited on offense sometimes, i can't be sure if i can win the East really, when shots do not go down, there's no one to take the scoring load and win the game by himself)
