Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
So far with my limited time it looks to be close to giving me what I want. Not saying a tweak here our there isn't needed but sometime things are blown out of proportion to make a need for the slider threads. IMO of course.Joshua:

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Two quick things that I noticed from 2k18 that deeply disappoints me:
The game does not run at 60fps, the demo was a ruse because it was set in a practice arena. You can definitely feel the difference going back and forth between 2ku and play now.
They still didn't fix the HIGHLIGHT BS where instead showing ASSISTS, we are given a montage rebounding. (Unless this was intentional? Honestly the only rebounding montage I'd watch are of prime Rodman and ben wallace)
I'm running the game on ps4 pro on 4k television btw.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I got in 4 games of Play Now against the CPU (2 All Star and 2 Superstar) and here are my thoughts...
-This game is STUNNING on PS4 Pro with a 4K TV. My TV isn't even top of the line, but I find myself getting lost in the visuals when I walk the ball up the court. The colors pop, the floors look great, and the player models and faces...just wow.
-I think playing almost exclusively MyTeam last year made me worse at playing real basketball haha. I got smoked in both my games on Superstar (one as the Cavs and one as the Sixers). I won both my games on All Star (both using the Pelicans), so right now I'm somewhere in between with my skills. The CPU is a much different animal this year
-The stars play like stars. LeBron is a golden god and Anthony Davis is totally unstoppable. It's so cool to see that since the NBA is such a star-driven league. Those guys should be head and shoulders above the competition
-The CPU is WAAAAAAAAY better at recognizing open shots and favorable scoring situations. When I sag too much off the wrong guy, there's no hesitation to fire the shot.
-Big guys play big. When I got a guard switched onto Cousins, I backed him down and banked one off the glass like the guy wasn't even there. Such a huge difference from 2k17
-Jumpshots are much less effective. Part of this is me getting used to the new meter, but I shot horribly from 3 in all my games, even with open shots. They definitely nerfed the shooting a bit, but I'm OK with it. Shooting was too easy in 2k17
-Good on ball defense will be a huge difference maker this year. You've got to really work to stay in front of good scorers now that the stonewall animations and the cheesy steal spamming are gone
-I think I'm going to need to make some changes to the badging of some players. Marc and Paul Gasol have Gold Catch & Shoot, but Durant has Silver? No Flashy Passer or Dimer for Jokic? Bronze D. Stopper for Patrick Beverley and no D. Stopper for Robert Covington? Advanced stats and the eye test beg to differ.
-Overall, I'm loving this game so far. My issues are small and the good so far outweighs the bad. I'm actually excited to start a MyLeague and play the CPU again. It feels like it's going to be a real challenge!End Game Lineup: http://2kmtcentral.com/17/lineups/10...ine-end-lineup

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Hopefully someone can put out a good Reggie Miller CAP. I downloaded the rosters where the guy created Miller & Barkley on the All Time teams, but he didn't add a Charles Barkley to the All Time Suns and his Reggie Miller doesn't look close. I appreciate his effort, especially because of how time consuming creating guys can get but hopefully someone is able to nail down a more accurate Reggie Miller.Comment

I really like the way offenses target bad defensive players. It's almost impossible to hide Isaiah Thomas on anyone. They back him down or try to shoot right over him.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I posted this in the Little Things thread but this deserves some props:
You are able to edit player rotations outside of MyLeague nowWhich means you can play PlayNow mode with realistic NBA rotations/mins/substitution patterns
Also you can download and share community-made rotation files which is great!Comment

Yes you are correct that the rotation/substitution settings will override foul situations2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Anyone else feel like FG% are just way too high? Teams shooting 55-60% every game I’ve played.
Could be an anomaly, but it’s starting to feel like previous 2Ks where players (specifically on the AI side) rarely miss a basket.
Curious to see others feelings on this.

at first I did. but then I adjusted some defensive settings and did better. but I am positive it will not take huge slider adjustments to get it right this year. default played pretty close in the games I played.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I was watching a video of Heat @ Hawks. During the Hawks starting lineup introduction, the announcer said:
"At the small forward position, standing 6'5", no. 24 - Kent Bazemore. The other forward, standing 6'8", no.12 - Taurean Prince. Starting at the other forward position, 6'10", no. 7 - Ersan Ilyasova. The man in the middle, 7', no. 14 - DeWayne Dedmon. ....------... (didn't understand what he was saying...maybe "at back court", but not sure), 6'1", no. 17 - Dennis Schroder."
So it goes by the player's natural position, not by the starting lineup position? Interesting. My Specs:

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I am finding the opposite. On default Hall of Fame I held the Knicks to 35% shooting with the Celtics. I ended up shooting 42%. I usually play as the on-ball defender unless it looks like the defense is trying to run a shooter through off-ball screens. In that case I will switch and chase him around the screen. Defensive in 2K is all about using the right analog stick to contest at the right moment. I almost find it too easy to bait the CPU into taking a shot. The formula for me is bait & contest.Comment

so with that being said, they should have shot a high percentage. last year in RL they set an NBA record on the kings for 3pt shooting.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Played 2 games and they were completely different in a good way.
Played the rockets in Houston with okc and they shot me out the gym.
They swung the ball around the court and everyone were knocking them down from deep.
Even CP3 threw up some lobs to Capela.
Defensively, they knew the Thunder can't shoot and made it miserable by packing the paint.
2nd game I used the knicks against the heat and I was able to win that game. Melo and Porzingas dominated using the pinch post and low post and when the defense shifted towards them, Hardaway Jr. and Lee were able to hit some 3s.
I played both of those games on Hall of Fame and I was impressed with the overall flow of the game. However, it's really a battle to knock down free throws and the meter doesn't really help that much in that case.
Another note, Stars really play like stars. They get buckets. But it doesn't feel like it's a spam. But you're really going to wanna play through your star players in tough spots.
