Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
Apologies if I've missed any important questions in the past week or so on this thread, but fires (Atlas fire got within 6 miles of my house, but I was never in any real danger because of the terrain between me and the fire), crap air quality, etc, etc, had me working less. And now that 2K19 design/planning work has ramped up a lot, so I won't be scouring the forums as often. If there's something super urgent (to you) that you would like to bring to my attention, please PM me directly (though only major things will be likely considered for any future patch at this point). I won't be checking DM's often, but when I do I tend to go through them all and respond when I'm able to. Also, 2K19 feature suggestions should go to that stickied thread and not in a DM (and we should be meeting about those ideas in the coming weeks, so if you have ideas you should post them soon with details if it's not something super obvious).Comment

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
Update: Tim figured out one of the big bugs where it was making it impossible to sign some guys. When he was clearing the cap hold for when you sign the player to a contract that had the hold, he was only doing this in relation to the salary cap and not the hard cap. This will be fixed in the next patch and the hard cap will also be increased across the board. So, now most of the big guys get signed early in free agency now (though, Chris Bosh often gets left sitting unsigned in my tests and we currently don't have any plans to investigate that one any deeper, as we're trying to move more people to 2K19 development).
He also has done some work to fix the templates so that rookie classes will stop having 90+ rated players. This should also be in the next patch (running long tests right now to see what things look like over hundreds of iterations -- through 60, the average OVR for the best player in the draft is 79 point something, which is around what we want, and the highest in that time frame for a generational guy is 86. If this holds true through the rest of the run, we'll get it added to our patch build tonight).

Thanks for the update, and glad to hear your OK with all the fires going on out there. I cant even begin to imagine what so many people are going thru out there with all those fires. I caught 1 of our cornfields on fire burning down a old corncrib, luckily we had already harvested it,lol, it was close to our house, before we and the fireman got it put out, and I know that dont even come close to what so many of your are experiencing out there.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
I have a PG with 4 years bird rights but I can’t sign him to a contract extenduon (extension, edit). It keeps saying I don’t have enough to go over the hard cap. What hard cap are we talking? I thought with bird rights I can exceed cap to sign my own player?Comment

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
I'm guessing you probably have signed someone to the full mid-level exception, which locks you into a hard cap which cannot be exceeded for any reason, including signing players with bird rights.NFL: Bills

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
He was traded to my Spurs 4 years back with full contract (around 28 mil per year ave). He was signed by Indiana on a 3+1 ETO, and when it’s time for extension, I can’t sign him due to cap. Same goes for DJ Murray. I can’t sign him (within my team from the start) due to hard cap. What hard cap is the system talking about?Comment

A real life example of this is the Milwaukee Bucks. Since they signed Ersan Ilyasova to the MLE, they locked themselves into a hard cap which prevented them from signing Jabari Parker even though they had his bird rights.NFL: Bills

Basically if you've signed anyone to the MLE, you've locked yourself into the hard cap (I'm not sure what the hard cap would be in your MyLeague but in real life this year, it's $129 million).

So I’ve read write ups on MLE and the hard cap as I can from google. It all could say that I may have signed someone in free agency using MLE! And that hard capped my season! Dang! It’s the season where 3 of my superstars are supposed to sign extension. With one guy being MVP.
How do I know - in the future - if I’m signing using MLE and how do I avoid it at all costs? (Literally! Since I don’t mind paying $40 mill to my own superstars!)Comment

I think it usually pops up with a message that says something along the lines of “do you want to sign ________ using the mid-level exception?” At least that’s how it worked in last 2K games. I can’t remember how it works in 18.

If 2k gave myleague online 5 percent of the attention they gave mypark, the mode would be incredible
Its like they don’t even test the modes where you don’t spend Vc. They just roll it out and if it works,cool....if it doesn’t, too bad.Comment

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/being force-renounced and RFA not functio
Another question.
I signed a player to a 3 year extension. Now during the signing, (October, few days after season started), that player has two years left, current year 10 million plus, next year around 11 million close. I would expect the result as 2 + 3 years as I signed him to 3 years extension. But then, the result is: current year reduced to $6 mill plus, year 2 about $7 mill, and year 3 close to $8 mill!
Guy got paid cheap as a result of extension? Is this really happening in NBA? Or is this a broken 2K18 extension signing?Comment

Bird rights still aren’t working properly. No I’m not over the hard cap and no I have not renounced the players rights. Guess I can’t keep Porzingis on the Knicks. Smh

Deym!
However, there is a way to add to the story though. We “hijack” the contract and do it “back end”.
Now I no longer worry about contracts because - aside from being GM, I’m also the —- AGENT!Comment
