Figured I'd post this video from the Da Czar here since layups have been a bit of a hot topic.

Re: Layups with no meter -Da_Czar
The layups are the best ever in any 2k ever, online/offline. Realistic, fun, in my control, my ability or my inability.. Accept it and evolve..
Layups are perfectly balanced.. Thanks to those responsible developpers.Comment

Re: Layups with no meter -Da_Czar
There is nothing wrong with layups. You guys just don't have stick skills. Layups are back to classic 2k. You just have to know the release on your layup and you'll have more success. Dont just push the shoot button you have to hold it a lil longer like we always had to, its just not a shot meter for you to look at. I wish they get rid of the shot meter for jumpers too, it would require more stick skills.Comment

Layups with no meter -Da_Czar
I thought last year was terrible the way they did the layups. I missed more last year. Release when u start to jump? That is not intuitive at all. This year is a lot better to hold until you release the ball. Maybe some people have last years way committed to muscle memory?

Re: Layups with no meter -Da_Czar
The last thing i remember Mike Wang saying about the layup meter this year is that when you release the shot button/stick as the hand is about to release the ball you will receive a slight bump in % of it going in, BUT IF YOU DO NOT you can release it whenever you want with no reduction of the normal chance of it going in.
So is there a meter, sure. Does it penalize you for bad timing, according to Mike, no.
Which fortunately for me, I like that there is an incentive for skill. Unfortunately for me, it does not [i]require[i/] skill/timing.Comment
