Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
Made a 7.1 Center Rebounder / Interior Scorer. Basically me except with jumps
anyways, went to Portland. Not a great team fit as they got tons of bigs, but its my team.
Lots of positives i really like, practices, being able to chose which badges to work for etc. The fact that you now earn progress while playing is a big plus.
your room mate though, whoever thought this was ok and then whoever signed it off should be fired. Absolutely cringe worthy.
dont like that i shrink to 6ft in every cut scene, but whatever.
Some game play niggles. I cannot get my guards to pass the ball on a pick and roll. I can be wide open cutting to the basket after a screen and Lillard or whoever will go 1 on 3 against and throw up a prayer that gets blocked every time. I can pick and pop and will get the ball all the time, but never on a cut ...
Also, lobs, almost impossible to get at the moment. NBA not park
Last question, any benefit to playing something other than pro except for a challenge? VC stays the same and i seem to earn more progress on Pro then on Superstar?
I had moved my difficulty to all star and my teammates seemed to play a lot smarter. Played the warriors and everybody went dumb, but I think it was because we were playing the warriors. So I'd suggest All Star diff if you're a big that runs plays.
Does anyone play for the Bucks? Having a lot of fun with my 7ft Playmaking Rebounder Center right now on the Knicks, but I'm looking ahead to next season. I think the Bucks would be fun to play for, but I'm wondering how the game translates Giannis's skillset. Is he as much of a beast in gameplay as he is in real life?Last edited by MrBallaBoy21; 09-22-2017, 10:25 AM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
I'm thinking of making a shot creating/post scoring SG like Wizards Mj but can't right now because the VC struggle is real...
Anyone using this type of build? I'd love to know how he plays.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
For those that have already started, I have a question on the coaching. Do they do a better job this year of maximizing talent on the court or do they still put people on the bench regardless?
Ex. If I made a 6'7" playmaking SG (I want that HoF Ankle Breaker) on the Trail Blazers or the Rockets, would they put me in at SF next to Lillard/McCollum or Paul/Harden or would I be stuck fighting with Harden for minutes?Comment

I told the agent I wanted Adidas, so what happened? I have had offers from both UA and Jordan. No sign of Adidas. Guess I should have said Nike in order to get Adidas.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
Had this happen 3 times yesterday in practice when working on 3s or limitless range. Only way to stop it is to quit the drill and basically forfeit progress on one of three drills...

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
In general I think all star. However, I usually, in 2k17 at least, had to play on pro until I reached the 70's. But pro is really too easy for your AI teammates... they play too well and the opposition does not give a you very good game.
From 70-90 I played on all star, until I reached 90 at which point it felt too easy.
At 90+ I went to superstar, which may be the most sim-like level, once you get upgraded.
But in the end it's what is most enjoyable for you.
Note: 2k18 feels more difficult so take that into consideration.Comment

Apparently you get a lump sum from your agent every 3-4 games

yeah I did that in 16 and 17 but 18 team mates are not good on pro , someone on YouTube suggested play on all-star , your team mates are better and your shots are better I want to see if anyone heard about it or tried it out .
I guess when I go home tonight ill give it a try
thanks for the feedbackComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
If you dont care much about the story and all the awful “storylines” and cutscenes just sim the entire first season. There is no fake teammate, no pre game post game talks with random staff members, no agent cutscenes, no awful roommate...
It’s heaven in the Neighborhood. Play ball, go train and spend 100% less time watching some 7 minute long scene that rivals The Room in its awfulness, but without the its so bad its good redeeming factor.Comment
