It's fine. I'm making contest layups, easy layups, the CPU is falling for my pump fake. I'm making wide open shots, etc.



Personally, I really don't understand these type of statements. Why is it disgusting for the game to be more challenging with the new release? Why do you want the difficulty level to remain the same. As the developers "attempt" to make the artificial intelligence better, the AI is theoretically going to be smarter.

What fun would it be if Pro Difficulty feels exactly like Pro difficulty from the previous year? If you had played NBA2k17 for the entire life cycle last year, you would have developed the skills needed to beat the CPU on pro difficulty more often than not. If the difficulty was equivalent to last year, that would be incredibly boring. It was basically easy on Hall of Fame last year. If they would have made the difficulty levels tuned exactly like last year, do you know how boring 2k18 would be right now?

If you think Pro feels like all-star and superstar feels like hall of fame, why not just stick with Rookie and feel like playing on Pro. The "difficulty level" shouldn't dictate your enjoyment. How challenging the AI regardless of level should determine your level of enjoyment.

EDIT: Even though Hall of Fame feels a little bit more difficult than last year (still honeymoon phase impression), I honestly wish it would be 10 times more difficult. Some of the CPU HOF defensive AI is still lacking making for easy buckets.

too bad u (nor OS in general) don't represent the entire community, bcuz a lot of people have complained abt missing wide open shots & easy layups. esp in mycareer!!! all u have to do is look at feedback on twitter, youtube, and reddit. we can't all be lying!!!

and it isn't about wanting the difficulty to feel the exact same as last year. i just don't understand why they made it more difficult to shoot on every level!!! better AI alone, wouldve led to more challenging games. and best believe i don't mind a challenge. it's just frustrating when u find yourself missing too many shots that u should make & then making too many shots that u should miss!!! that's been the moral of my 2k18 experience so far .

i wouldn't even be complaining if the cpu didn't capatilize on 80% of their open attempts!!! like damn 2k, at least make it fair in that regard !!!

Lmao. Yes. A lot of casuals similar to yourself have complained on Twitter. What's your point? Turn down the difficulty. Tune the sliders. Or get better. Complaining that the game is broken when it clearly isn't because you're bad at the game isn't productive. Please allow us to use the Pro-Am gym from the walk-on Pro-Am as an arena in My League. It's a pretty simple thing to add in and it would make the custom leagues so much more, well, custom!

wait when did i ever say the game was "broken" ??? all i said was that the shooting needed to be addressed!!! Play-call messages and MT earned do not show unless you press up on the d-pad to display the individual player grades. This hasn't been the case in any previous 2K smh

Obviously OS is not the majority, but it does have a certain amount weight if the developers actively participate when they have the time. Are you strictly a Myplayer person? Or do you also play the standard NBA modes?

The biggest problem that I have with the vocal complains or concerns (pick your choice of word) whether they are right or wrong, legitimate or not, is that they're not descriptive with their complains/concerns. They do not have visual footage to back up their concerns/complaints.

Maybe the challenges the community is having comes down to their stick skills?

Were their shots exactly wide open? Was there anyone around when they were doing contested layups? Did you guys actually release the right stick just about the time the ball leaves the fingertips to perform a layup? Did they actually get a good release? Was the character that they were controlling tired or fatigue at all? If they're cold and missing outside shots, whether or not there's a "confidence" element built into 2k, I don't know. But did they attempt to get other teammates involved through assist, playing lock down defense, and then try to score again after playing team basketball.

I decided to play a game with the Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets because I just so happen to come across one person under the youtube comment section say the following two statements:

"how is missing an open layup with an NBA player multiple times a game realistic? Please enlighten me"

"I shouldn’t be losing to the Nets when I’m the warriors... it’s happened multiple times"

I defeated the Nets on my first try on Hall of Fame default slider, default setting. Warriors 104 vs Nets 84. I also made all my open layups. Wide open shots is on my own stick skills. Just because that person is having difficulties beating what he thinks should be a give me (i.e. Warriors vs Nets), it could simply come down to his stick skills. By no means am I good on the sticks; You'd probably wipe the floor with me on 2k18.

The game has only been out for how many weeks. Where's the patience to get acclimated to the new release. Everybody is looking to jump online and compete when there is probably some sort of learning curve to the new game. Just because someone was dominant in 2k17 and can shoot the lights out with their eyes close, doesn't necessarily mean 2k18 should be the same.

Just because someone is a 2k basketball veteran shouldn't automatically mean they should be able to be "good" from the get go especially with the new game.

i haven't tried myplayer offline, but im sure most of the problems still occur offline!!!

the main issues ive been having: shooting, finishing around the rim, & teammates allowing opponents to get open and knock down shots at a crazy efficient rate smh

keep in mind, myplayer is an 88 overall too!!! so i can only imagine how bad ur experience may potentially be if u don't have the vc to level up lol. but go ahead and give it a try and lemme know what u think!!!

Lol nope. Not a fanboy. But I am a sim player. And seeing the game ruined year after year because of casuals complaining about missing open shots and layups, is frustrating beyond belief. I just want to be able to sit down and play a basketball game that plays somewhat like basketball. 2K is that this year, where it hasn't been in the past. Sure it has some issues defensively, but this is the best it's been in a long time. Sitting here and watching casual NBA fans who have no idea how basketball should be played, and people who are playing on a difficulty that's too high for them, ruin the game AGAIN would be even more infuriating. Nah, I know 2K doesn't care about the sim guys when it comes to patches. They give us love when the game first comes out, but then the screaming children get their way pretty quick. I'm not saying I'm superior to you in anything. But I'm not the one complaining about missing shots.

Yes, a patch probably will come soon to save all the casuals who chuck shots all day and then I'll have to tinker with sliders to compensate for the ridiculous shooting percentages. Just like 2K17. Ruined by Twitter. It's pretty damned unfortunate.

The people he's referencing on social media, and some on this site, love throwing the word 'broken' out there when they miss shots. Or miss layups. Or something bugs. It's all nonsensical, and largely it is casual NBA fans who don't watch enough of the game and only care about scoring, or it's people who are just not very good at the game that should turn their difficulty down.

what i don't get is i went to my court and i made 30 of 50 shots got my shooting almost all of them a perfect release then i go play my game and i cant make a single shot even with some of them wide open! i understand missing some but not all of them ended with 1-15
