Nuggets receive: Eric Bledsoe, Alec Peters
    (would they offer more?)

Suns receive: 2018 1st Rd Pick (Top 10 Protected), Reggie Jackson, Jon Leuer, Boban Marjanovic
Pistons receive: Eric Bledsoe, Tyson Chandler, Jared Dudley

Which offer would you guys accept as GM in Phoenix? I honestly think I'm paying a bit too much, but Denver has me beat talent wise so I had to throw in the pick. I think this move puts us in contention with Milwaukee, Washington and Toronto for second place in the eastern conference.
As a GM, I hate both those deals -- too much long-term money being taken back in the Pistons trade and not enough from Denver (PHX has no interest in Faried and the Nuggets deal is virtually unchanged from the summer, when PHX could have sent Bledsoe there).

I think you should look to involve a third team in the Pistons deal to take Jackson/Leuer -- PHX doesn't need another youngish-veteran PG who wants to control the ball and doesn't want to be there.

Off the top of my head, in terms of a team that could use a Jackson, maybe NOLA? Struggling to think of one really.

If I were the Pistons, I would restructure the trade -- Bledsoe for Bradley, Boban, 2018 1st (Top-10 protected). Shift Jackson to SG, play him and Bledsoe together, stagger minutes so the two are only on the floor together during the fourth really -- let each run the offense for stretches in the game as the main guy at the one.

Tough to unload all that salary on one team in your original trade and only get back a pick as an asset -- at least this way, PHX gets Bradley (who is not re-signing there), Boban, and a pick. Bradley and Boban can be flipped later if necessary for more assets.

    My thoughts.

Thanks a lot. Do you think they'd accept Reggie and an unprotected pick? That removes a lot of the money. I really want to pair Bradley with Bledsoe and have two bulldogs in the backcourt. If I can't get him for that price them I'll probably just stand pat and leave Bledsoe alone until I find a realistic trade to send him elsewhere. I don't think it's going to be a quick process in real life anyway.

In terms of numbers, that works ... I just don't like Jackson as a replacement for Bledsoe (and an extra year of big money on the books). As the Suns, I'm looking at Booker's contract (his eligible for a rookie-scale extension next year) and I want to clear as much cap as I can for that.

Chandler's deal comes off in two years. Bledsoe as well. That fits into my timeline.

Jackson's deal comes off in three and he's not an upgrade on Bledsoe. If you want Bledsoe from me, I'm going to need that unprotected 1st at least.

I see one trade immediately that jumps out, but it depends heavily on who you value:

PHX sends: Blesdoe, Knight, Warren -- roughly $30M in cap, Warren's extension at $12M over 4y kicks in next season, Knight has three years left on his deal as of today.

DET sends: Jackson, Harris, unprotected 2018 1st -- roughly $33M in cap. Harris comes off the books in two years, Jackson is there for three, but PHX gets the better money savings long-term. Harris is only 25, more proven than Warren.

Overall, PHX does this trade to get out of Knight's contract (unpretty) and clear up space for extensions for Booker and whichever of the Chriss/Bender duo pans out. The money savings, plus the unprotected pick, makes PHX the winner of the trade but not by a significant margin. Jackson could be a headache (but he could also be flipped later).

For DET, you get that pairing of Bledsoe/Bradley in the backcourt. Warren becomes your starter at the 3 (or Stanley Johnson, depending on your tastes), and Knight ends up back in DET as a sixth man ... maybe. You're committing to Warren as a part of your team for the next few years here, but he's not a scrub.

Your cap sheet is going to be ugly though moving forward depending on what Bradley asks for in free agency. You're going to need to send away Boban/Leuer at least next offseason to make room ... I don't think I do this as DET, it seems an all-in kind of move that isn't going to get me more than the 4th seed out East, maybe the 3rd, but not enough to beat LeBron.

        My thoughts.

I’m done with the first season, and my starting lineup is Grant, Lavine, Valentine, Markkanen and Okafor. I’ve got the first pick in the draft and I’m going to pick Michael Porter to replace Valentine at SF. I’m fine with Lavine, Markkanen and Okafor right now so a PG is what my starting lineup would need. I’m open to any ideas from going after someone like Kemba Walker or settling for someone not yet in his prime, I would just like to hear ideas. I’ve got extra first rounders in 2019 and 2021 that I could throw in to the trade.

Potential PG’s I could see being traded and would do you well:

          Eric Bledsoe

Should have mentioned that Bledsoe is a Denver Nuggett already in this MyLeague.

I agree with you that Bledsoe and Bradley would be a great backcourt duo, but I'm just not sure that Detroit as the pieces that Phoenix would want in a trade. I don't think the Suns would have much interest in Reggie Jackson. That would be just trading one PG malcontent for another one who is slightly less injury prone but on a longer, more expensive contract. Ideally, Jackson could be flipped to a third team but the question would be to who? And honestly there's just not a big market for him. Not that he's a terrible player or anything, but when you consider that PG market is kind of over saturated and he wants to start or else he will likely be unhappy, then it's tough to find a good team for him.

Ideally, for Phoenix I think they are looking for either two prospects or one prospect and a pick and an expiring deal for Bledsoe. And I really just don't think that the Pistons are a great trade partner with what they have since they don't have any good expiring contracts (well, I mean that have Bradley but if you're trading for Bledsoe, then I assume it means you want to pair the two of them). With pretty much any other deal that could be made between the two teams, I think the price is going to be to steep for you due to the Pistons contracts.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread

I started wanting to trade Nick Young for Enes Kanter, but knew I needed to add more as it wouldn’t make sense financially and roster-wise because I already had Dedmon and Bogut as bigs. I threw in Dedmon so Bogut could stay coming off the bench and also threw in two second round picks (2019 & 2021) to get Kanter and Isaiah Hicks, a player on a two way contract who is unhappy playing in the G-League.

The Knicks lost Porzingis for the season and are wanting to get rid of their 2nd best player who is likely gonna cost them 18+ million next year, while a team like mine can afford him, so the Knicks can tank and I can push for the playoffs, as I’m only a few games out of the 8 seed around halfway through the season.

                Is this fair and realistic?

Thanks guys. I'm just going to keep my roster as is and see if anything pops up closer to the deadline. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to rebuilding or going all in now (which probably will never get me anything beyond the eastern conference finals unless LeBron leaves).

                    Hey guys, nice thread.
                    Playing Twolves.

                    Needs:
Defense and Outside shooting off the bench on SF/PF and SG/PF positions.

Thought about Darrel Arthur and Will Barton.

                    exchanged for

Players like Shabazz, Aldrich, Bjelica, Brown, Georges-Hunt.

Maybe you have some realistic scenarios for me.

It depends on what team you are (I think you're the Hawks, but I'm not sure ). What's your roster like and what are the contracts for Dedmon (I think he's on a one-year deal).

Assuming you are the Hawks and this trade is basically Dedmon, plus future 2nd rounders to unload Kanter from the Knicks, I have to say no if I'm NYK. New York got Kanter for Melo and Kanter, despite his lack of defense, is still young enough to get better and add to his game. Unloading him to save salary seems awfully short-sighted and the Knicks new regime is trying to show Porzingis that they're serious about rebuilding around him.

Now, if you give me Dedmon + a 1st rounder (either with very limited protection this year or a little more in 2019) than you have my attention, but I'm not parting with Kanter for salary relief. It's not like any all-star player is signing in New York anyway, the Knicks reputation around the league is not good.

I think Shabazz with a second works for Arthur from Denver. Nuggets get someone to play minutes at the F positions as well as lose some salary which is good because they are pushing towards the tax, as well as a free pick to trade further or find a gem. Wolves gets an upgrade at the backup 4 who can also give Taj Gibson more rest for late 4th Q as well as some bench pop

That move does not make the Nuggets better right now, and they are gearing up for a playoff run. I think it will need to be 3 separate trades. I came up with the Shabazz Trade,

Magic Receive: Cole Aldrich, 2021 1st Round Pick

                            Timberwolves receive: Terrance Ross

You get a 3point shooter with decent to good defense who’s still relatively young, and shed Aldrich giving Patton more time for developmental minutes. 1st Round Pick is years in the future when you will have prime KAT and Wiggins.

For Bjelica, he is tougher. I came up with:

Grizzlies Receive: Nemanja Bjelica, 2018 2nd Round Pick

                            Timberwolves Receive: James Ennis

T-Wolves dump Bjelica onto a rebuilding Grizzlies team and receive Ennis, as the team has a lot of SF’s and some young ones they would like to see get playing time, where Ennis was taking up minutes. He’s also on an expiring with decent D and good 3point shooting.

Hope these are good enough! There are obviously higher quality players out there, but I think these are realistic and solid bench options for a team trying to make a deep playoff run

What is a good destination for Dennis Schroeder? I'm not a real fan of his in this game and would prefer expiring contracts or old vet in return. I'd rather draft my point guard of the future than continue to use him. I don't need a ton in return cause we are obviously in rebuild mode. Thanks

The tough thing is, no one is really looking for a PG at the moment. Best I could find was

                                Bulls Receive: Dennis Schroeder

Hawks Receive: Robin Lopez, Cameron Payne, 2018 2nd Round Pick (NO)

Bulls get a potential PG for the future, Hawks get a guy who will likely be awful still but worth a look, and Robin Lopez for salary matching along with a second for trading over a gem.
