Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread

So using the bulls and currently sitting at 4-8 in the season, have two major weekness 1. PG last game Dunn/Grant and Felder combined for 8 points, 3 Rebounds and 18 Assists while shooting 3-13.

I was thinking of moving LaVine to PG and running with a lineup of LaVine, Holiday, Valentine/Zipser, Lauri/Portis, Lopez unless I can find a PG that I could trade for.

I want to move Payne, Mirotic and maybe Grant and potentially Valentine if I can find a PG that will allow me to slide LaVine to SG and Holiday to SF.

Is there anyone that I could get for Mirotic and Payne?

    2. Back up C. Felcio is ok but nothing special and when he is in I find myself getting scored on more and more in the paint, also he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.

I was look at Okafor or a package of Clarkson and The big backup C for the Lakers.

    What would that take.

    Thanks guys.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread

I've been getting heavily into a few MyLeagues with eyes on realistic team-building, specifically with the Bucks and the Pelicans. I'd love to hear some ideas on realistic trades of Jabari Parker and Jrue Holiday.

Parker is fascinating because he's flashed the ability to be a great #2 scorer in the NBA, but he's had two ACL tears, doesn't play defense and is set for a huge pay raise before next season. If the Bucks re-sign him, they're basically fully committed to him being Giannis' top sidekick for the next 3 or 4 years. It's an extremely tough decision IRL, but I'd move him in the game for the right assets, namely a quality draft pick or picks, or a lengthy young wing player in the 3 and D mold that gives the potential for a positionless, switch all defense starting lineup of Brogdon/Middleton/New Player X/Giannis/Thon.

Jrue's talent doesn't match his contract, and if the Pelicans re-sign Boogie to a max, their cap situation is a nightmare going forward. Davis and Boogie are superstars, but Jrue is nowhere near that level. It would be those three and a bunch of bums for the forseeable future. Is he even tradeable IRL? If so, what kind of return could I get? The Pelicans are in dire need of shooting and quality wing players in general. I like Jrue's game, but his contract is such a burden that if there's a realistic way to move him, I'm all ears.

If you don’t mind taking back a butt load of salary, and it shouldn’t matter much cause the bulls aren’t doing too great, I think you could get the Pistons to do Payne and Mirotic for Reggie Jackson and a First Round Pick. Ish Smith has been chomping at starting over Jackson, but Jackson feels he has to be a starter. This dress up their cap, gives Ish a chance to start, and brings in a stretch 4, which is good because they struggle with the 3. Oh and Payne[emoji23] For the Bulls, you get the PG you want to keep Lavine at SG, and a potential really good 1st Round Pick. Maybe they should at a Top 5 protection to it.

For backup C, the lakers want nothing besides to clear cap and perhaps a pick, which doesn’t seem to work with the Bulls. So I would say go for Jahlil, his value is sooo low, you could do Nwaba, who is like the 4th SG, and a second Round Pick for Jahlil

Thanks man, they are actually good trade ideas, never thought of Jackson but I like it a lot.

I like the Bulls and 76ers trade straight up -- that works for me. Mirotic is a good shooter (spacing in Philly is a need) and they can just let him walk in the summer, free up that cap space.

The Suns/Pistons/Nuggets trade doesn't work for me. Wayyyy too much salary going back to the Suns -- Jackson is a less talented version of Bledsoe (about the same age too) and has three more years left on his deal at $17M per I think. Faried is 2yrs/$12M per.

And for their trouble they get a 1st and a 2nd from Denver? Sure, they unload Tyson to the Pistons but his deal is more favorable than Jackson's and he's arguably more useful to PHX than Faried.

I'm not sure what the Suns want in return for Bledsoe -- you'd think youth and picks, but the team is SO young already and there's no direction with that talent at the moment. Short of Booker (who we can reasonably assume is approaching All-Star levels of play), everyone is a question mark.

If I were PHX, I'd look into sending Bledsoe somewhere other than Denver. Their offer hasn't really changed since the summer (Faried, Mudiay or picks) and PHX didn't bite then. Bledsoe's value is clearly in what he can do for a team in the next two years, before his contract comes up and he demands big money ... perhaps try the Clippers?

Basically take that Chris Paul package they got from the Rockets (Beverly, Dekker, 2018 1st) and add a little more to it to get you where you want to be?
                Any comments are welcome.

I'm playing a MyLeague where I play every game, but switching teams from time to time in the first season. Seeing that the Blazers are underachieving I thought I could help them a bit.

Chicago gets Noah Vonleh, 2nd round pick
                  Blazers get Mirotic

I guess that's a good deal for both sides, right? Mirotic or Portis, one of those 2 had to go after that incident. Mirotic is older and Portis has the potential to be a starter, so I figured he would be gone.
With Vonleh they get worse, but they can take a chance on another young guy for a low price. Portland needs that spacing with Nurkic in the middle.

Or can you think of another deal where I can land Blazers a stretch 4 for a good price like that?

I'm looking to use the 76ers as I love Simmons but I'm not a Fultz/Embid fan.

I'm in year 2 and Porzingis isn't loving being in NYC. The team is having a terrible season and his frustration with Phil Jackson is starting to boil over (some of this is a story line in my head, not fully expressed in game).

I'm looking at trading Embid and Fultz as the we look to space the floor and get more players who can play off ball to compliment Simmons as our primary ball handler.

Am I giving up way too much to trade Embid & Fultz for Porzingis & Hardaway? Keeping in mind Porzingis wants out so the Knicks need to move him. Should I be getting Picks as well?

You’re giving a guy who’s played ~100 games (if he played a full season last year) and a 2nd year player, who could be pretty good but has still already shown to have injury issues and defense problems, for one of the leagues top players on a still cheap contract and a proven at worst bench piece? Sorry but you aren’t the one who should be getting picks. At least 1 unprotected First because this is still a “for the future” move for the Knicks and this is more of a “win now” move for you guys. Win now mode teams never get picks, especially with a player of KP’s caliber

Thanks for the perspective. Without looking at salary do you think Embiid, Fultz, and a future unprotected first would be reasonable for the Knicks? I don't know that I think KP has really established himself as a top player in the league, for sure has potential, but I'd say that's a very large leap.

I guess I thought the upside of Embiid and KP was pretty close in most people's views. It seems like last time KP trade talk came up no one seemed interested in moving anything near a young potential star and good pick, which I think is about the same as Embiid and Fultz.

Hey guys, with my bulls i traded the # 1 Pick + 2018 top 5 Pick ( Bulls ) to the Sun's for Devin Booker. They had the 1st & 3rd Pick, the got MB 3 and Luka

I did have to take Tyson and Knights Contacts off them and only toss Knights to another team for a 2020 2nd round pick.

here is my problem, i skip the rest and didn't know i had the 6th pick aswell, i cant remember how i got a 2nd pick & the game picked MP Jr.

i didn't see it until i started the season....i dont want to keep him, hes a top pick that should be starting, and i am running Dunn, LaVine, Booker.....

where can i send him for a good SF with good D? my 2nd unit is run by Jamal Murray ( Traded Jordan Clarkson 80, and Denzel Valentine 78 for him ) and the 2nd unit can use more Defense, i lost leads when the starter rest.

                            Thanks

I think if Embiid is still in the final year of his contract and not the new huge extension, it looks a lot better. But yes I think that works.

Personally, on the upside front, I think KP is far and away ahead of Embiid. I don’t think there’s more then 25,30 players I would take ahead of KP. He’s shown so much in New York. He can score from anywhere on the court, rebound, block shots, defend, great passing, plays the 4 and 5. He does so many things. And he’s had minor injuries but besides that, clean bill of health. As for Embiid, In the ~31 he played last year and so far this year he’s been AWESOME. But those injuries, they aren’t something that can be ignored. He goes down, he’s useless, and Philly is over there getting 20/10/5 every night while Embiid is in street clothes. I do think Fultz has the potential to be really good, but it’s like most young guards: defense. He can light up the scoreboard, but if the other team drops 40 on him, it’s a moot point. The pick does well for New York as well. They need any young promising player they can get there hands on[emoji23]so yes, that trade seems fair because of the potential of Embiid and Fultz, two high potential, young assets with a potential third in the 1st Round Pick, for a top 25-30 player in the NBA who you know will give solid production in all facets of the game

                                Thanks

Robert Covington in Philadelphia would be a good fit, especially if they get a talent like Michael Porter for him. Covington is one of the best defenders, defends multiple positions and can shoot the 3. I think he is due for an extension or already got one in your league, so you might have to trade Lopez or another large salary to match but I think they would be happy with this
