Started a Spurs franchise with today’s record. Signed Danny Green to a minimum contract so next year’s 10 mil player option became a minimum instead. Not really realistic I guess but in 2K he falls off a lot in the first offseason. Traded him and Patty Mills and 4 2nd round picks for Allen Crabbe and Caris LeVert. Crabbe is a really bad contract but he will be better than Green next year and good enough to start the next few years. LeVert will replace Ginobili who I’m assuming will retire year one.

I don't think he is going anywhere, but if you just want to have fun and trade him to shake things up. You would have to get a star player in return and attach a bad contract or two with it. The Pelicans with a deal around Boogie is the first one that came to mind for me. The cavs with the Nets pick plus Love / Isaiah. The Wizards might could get involved and I'm sure the Spurs would try and attach some bad contracts to it like Patty Mills.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
You could always trade a future lottery protected pick for him since he has B potential. It sounds like your team is going to be bad this year so if you have someone with like B- potential that's a young Guard you could trade him and then your 2nd round pick this year. If you don't think that's fair enough throw in another 2nd
Thank you for your reply. I think it sounds good. I just didn't want to underpay for him and cheat the AI. Thanks.Comment

Total agree with those ideas. I also don’t believe he will go anywhere but it’s still intriguing to think of the possibilities. What about the Bucks putting together a package around Jabari, Middleton and a couple 1st rounders? A bit of a stretch but still would be legit to see the claw and the Greek freak in the same front court.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
Any trades you think are realistic with the Bucks that the CPU would allow and accept? I trade packaging Middleton/Brogdon/Maker for Kawhi/Patty/Joffrey and I even threw in a few first rounders but I don’t think they’d take anything without Giannis in it. I’m just wondering what trades would make sense for the Bucks that could actually be pulled off in 2K. Jabari is still hurt so I can’t trade him this year and I’ll probably resign him in the offseason anyways.
Thought about DJ but he’ll start regressing soon so I don’t love itHere's to good friends livin' large in Texas. Texas forever!

Some players in 2k are near impossible to trade for so Kawhi could be one of thoseRetro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
Hi, quick question: I'm in my third year with the bulls and got a trade request from the Pacers for Jordan Clarkson. They started 0-7 (29 games season) and have a huge hole at PG, so that makes sense. But they offered me a Top3-protected First Rounder for the next Draft and i have the feeling that this is way too much. What do you think would be fair instead, considering they want to turn it around badly and need a PG desperately?Comment

Thanks, that helps a lot. Yeah, I think, a lot protected pick would be fair. How does this work exactly, if the Pacers ended up in the lottery? Will it be another lot. protected pick the year after or will it be, lets say, Top10 protected?Comment

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
Need some input on a couple of trade options in a Spurs MyLeague.
I'm operating under the assumption that Parker is out for the year recovering from his blown quad. So, I will un-injure him in order to trade him and immediately edit him back to injured for the year once he's traded. He's a $15m expiring contract so I figure someone could use him for salary cap relief, he'll be out all year anyway, and then I can re-sign him in the summer to play Ginobili's role for cheap.
Not TOOOO unrealistic.
Trade #1:
Spurs get: George Hill
Kings get: Tony Parker, filler, 2nd round pick
Hill is a former Spur and much beloved by the fanbase, the team, and Pop. He is a natural roster fit and can defend either guard positions (just like Danny Green) and can hit 3s. I think he could help the Spurs possibly topple the Warriors. We would be able to switch EVERYTHING. He seems like a GREAT point guard to pair with Kawhi - defends both guard spots, doesn't need the ball, hits catch and shoot 3s very well. He would immediately form a VERY formidable defensive "Death Lineup" with:
Aldridge
Gay
Leonard
Green
Hill
Sacramento is 3-16 in the MyLeague so far and should be developing their young guards. This allows them to get off money with Hill, which must feel like a mistake. They are on track for the #1 pick as of right now, this would all but ensure they get it.
Trade #2:
Spurs get: Avery Bradley
Pistons get: Rudy Gay, future 1st round pick
Avery Bradley would add another switchy-rangy defender who can hit 3s and will help in matchups with the Rockets and Warriors. It's a low-cost move, as Rudy Gay is currently a bench player and the future pick will probably be in the low end of the first round.
The Pistons are currently out of the playoff race, 20 games in. They swap expiring contracts (Gay will almost certainly opt-out) and get a pick.
Trade #3:
Spurs get: Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum
Hornets get: Tony Parker, Danny Green and Rudy Gay
This is the most drastic makeover on the table. The Spurs add a dynamic offensive player close in age to Kawhi who can take a lot of the scoring load off of him and be a partner for the rest of his career. They also get Batum who seems like a Spurs player, good friends with Boris Diaw and Tony Parker from the French National Team and can play great defense and make open 3s. Seems like a perfect Spurs reclamation project. Batum could conceivably defend Durant, Klay, Curry, Iguodala, Harden, CP3, Eric Gordon, almost anyone from a one to a stretch 4.
That would leave the Spurs with a crunch time 5 of:
Gasol or Aldridge
Aldridge or Kyle Anderson
Leonard
Batum
Walker
The Hornets are currently (IRL) rumored to be shopping Walker and looking to get out of Batum's GINORMOUS, ridiculous contract. Parker and Green are expiring and Gay will definitely opt out of his $8m. That means they free up about $36m next year, turn the keys over to Malik Monk immediately and shoot for the lottery.
This one feels like the biggest reach and the biggest risk. Kemba would be GREAT but is not as good defensively as Hill. He's younger and more dynamic. He would definitely have the keys to the team a lot more and it would be taking the ball away from Kawhi and Aldridge some. It would be taking on a huge bad contract with Batum, but I like playing with him. And it would give up 3 core Spurs in Parker, Green and Gay.
I would still try to re-sign Parker in the offseason as a backup.
Let me know what you think!Comment

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
Really? I was leaning toward the Hill trade. Maybe I throw in a 1st rounder or young player like Murray.Comment

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread
I'd say the same. The Hill one is pretty fair. Imo there is no need to throw in a 1st rounder, as the Kings get rid of a horrible contract.
The Kemba one is really lobsided. Sure, they don't have to pay Batum anymore. But he is still not totally useless and worth something. Kemba on the other hand is their best player. I don't think they would trade him without getting at least one 1st rounder back.Comment
