I obviously care. 2K9,11,12 are probably my most played games in existence. I'm not gonna be dishonest though and pretend 2K hasn't taken a massive downward spiral into a shady company. Not saying anything just allows them to continue walking over you. A reason why they were such a cool game/company is in part BECAUSE they weren't EA and we're about basketball first.

I'm a passionate NBA gamer/fan, die hard 2K player from about 2k9-13, so I'll obviously be awaiting a hopeful return to my favorite past franchise. I did buy 14 (awesome next gen graphics at the time), 15 and 16...a bit too irritated with 15 and 16 I bought 17 used, and have played 18 for a few hours and plan to buy that used as well to not support their current greedy ways. 16-18 will be the first times I don't put strenuous hours into the game at launch because I'm not happy with the company, or in love with the product/game itself much anymore. I'll still play it now and then, for online competition but with all the issues everywhere it's just too frustrating and depressing to put much time in.

I'll still argue, if you are loving the game that much, I wouldn't even come on here to debate anything..I'd be playing the game or not letting anyone tell me otherwise. That's just me though. Right now I borderline hate the way this company has gone which is why I'm here to voice my reasoning in hope they rebuild some integrity.

Well, I've seen you come on here and debate about a game you enjoy, so I don't know about that argument, lol...both sides of the spectrum are always needed, especially with outside eyes on the boards. I got you though, your presence here is in the spirit of debate...which is fine- I was just geniunely curious.

Well...that's a little different since you have the launch of essentially a brand new title that has been dead in my eyes since 2009. But fair point.
Yes both sides are needed true, but if you notice I stopped posting there because like I said, I started playing it and enjoying it, so I don't go debate with anybody because I myself enjoy it and leave it at that.

As for here, it's not like I haven't played the game and just talk. I'm always going to test it out and give it a fair shake, I just won't support it with a full purchase or spend a dime on VC.

Agree to disagree, because you're not saving me from anything. NBA 2K18 is a solid game and should reach its full potential after some patches. I don't work for them or know their culture, so I refuse to call then "shady". If I had to give them a negative, it would be their VC business model, but I truly see that as an industry standard. If you go after 2K Sports, I think people need to go after the other companies as well about micro transactions. Aside from that, NBA 2K18 is a must buy this year for anyone who is a basketball fan.

It probably doesn't make sense to you because you're being irrational.

You guys are spoiled and you haven't had to actually play a ****ty 2K title for years. 15, 16, 17, and 18 have all been good and the game has grown every year.

When taken into perspective, y'alls gripes are petty. 2K could do you guys like EA and pump out a roster update every year. The could probably still charge $150 for a special "Shaq" edition too.

Please stop the conspiracy stuff. They gave a game a poor score as a protest instead of an honest accessment of the game. That's the point of contention. The screw up, evidently, was admitting as such. Why is that so hard to comprehend around here? The site itself pretty much lays it out.

Translation: If you actually like the game then you shouldn't be here commenting. You should be busy playing. If you hate the game, or even if you dont have it (why do people act like their words just disappear), then by all means vent and complain about everything in the interest of "debate." Not skip this years title. Or wait til Black Friday, or a used copy. Or buy Live (all of them are here, LMFAO!) Nope. Just vent and be negative. Then play victim when someone challenges their agenda posting.

Solution:. Release a fully working game, and don't screw your consumers over with a flood of micro-transactions.

Marketing a $150 elite version doesn't make ppl happy either.

Actual reality based solution: Don't buy a product you don't enjoy. Post your dislikes in the appropriate place and wish list threads. Hope the next years title is more in line with YOUR wants. If not, rinse and repeat until it does or you just move on. Simple.

Yeah but then the defenders will be like "You don't have the game, you don't have the right to criticise it"

Oh, sorry, I didn't know wanting a fully working game and not having to spend extra money after purchase was solely my wants.

Generous Counter Solution for posters angry with this discussion: Don't venture into a thread about 2Ks whining about bad reviews expecting all positive and peachy responses from the posters.

No one is forcing you to buy a $150 game and no one is forcing you to purchase VC. If you do either, that was a choice YOU made.
